Good Friday morning everyone.  Currently 31 degrees and slightly frosty, looking out the front door this morning.  Supposed to see a high around 47 degrees today.

Well, I did go see the ophthalmologist yesterday afternoon.  I have had 2 major strokes that affected my vision only.  Have lost 1/4 of my vision in each eye.  So far, not having to start putting any drops in my eyes for the glaucoma.  Guess we'll see what happens when I go back to her in June next year.

Coffee, hot chocolate, hot cider, hot water for hot tea and juices are fresh and ready to go.  On the warmer/serving bar this morning:  bacon, eggs, sausage, and an assortment of doughnuts and danish.

Everyone have a good morning and take care.

Good Morning fellow Railfans!

It's 16F with Fog this morning but who cares, it's FRIDAY!!!!!!!  Got more video tapes uploaded last night but will a ways to go.  Had this old camcorder since 1999 so lots and lots of tapes to get through.  Weather forecast looks to be good to finish up the X-Mas lights outside this weekend.

Tom;  I made a typo on my last post. The name is Raymond  Gene  not Bobby Gene. I guess I was thinking  of Robert Edwin.  Anyhow this is all history now  and time to be left alone.

No problem at all. I was glad to help you solve a family mystery, and just wish it could have been a positive response. Merry CHRISTMAS to you and yours

....Our weather worked out pretty good.  Just a very light skiff of snow overnight.   Almost 35 degrees now, and to be sunny Sat. & Sun.

No snow on the ground now.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  Nice and cold with a temp of 25 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  The high today is to be about 36, maybe 37 degrees F., with plenty of sunshine that's not going to warm us up much.

Joe, thank you for coming in early and fixing breakfast this morning.  Everyone have a good day, keep safe, take care and I'll see you all back in this evening for our pizza fest.

Left Utica last night on dry roads (after the local NRHS chapter's annual turkey dinner - yum!) only to hit light snow about half way home, and fairly heavy snow for the last quarter of the trip.

The lake effect machine is working to the south of me now, but the sun is out here, with a moderate amount of snow on the ground.

"Recovery" today (always have to hoe out the truck after these trips to the railroad), and off to our PBS station to run camera for the quilt auction tonight.

Looks like our Polar Express incidents will go off as planned tonight, after Thursday's derailment.

Standing around the derailment site, shooting pictures on Friday, I was very glad I'd donned the long johns that morning.  It's not the cold so much as the wind.  I can weather -40, if the wind isn't blowing...

.....J, make sure that "polar air" travels north of Indiana enroute to NY.

This morning we were treated to 20 degrees.  Our coldest yet, but full sunshine now, and for several days according to the weather people.

A Syracuse wreck contractor handled the re-railing, while another handled the track repairs.

A rail was displaced (spread), cause as yet undetermined.

Good Sunday morning everyone.  Hope all of you had a very good night.  It's very cold here, with a temp of 21 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  But, we're supposed to get to a high of about 47 degrees this afternoon.

Larry, hope the investigation conclusion is favorable for your tourist railroad.

Coffee is fresh and ready to go, along with the juices, hot chocolate, and other morning beverages.  There's also plenty of hot water for our hot tea drinkers.  On the warmer/serving bar this morning:  bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes and waffles.

I don't think I told you all about my visit with the ophthalmologist Thursday:  I did have a major stroke; but it only affected my vision.  Have lost a quarter of my vision, in each eye.  That is gone, and there is no way to get it back.  Guess we'll know more, when I go back to her in June.

Can't think of anything other news this morning, whether good or bad.  Everyone have a good morning, take care going to Church, work, or going out for a morning of rail fanning.  See you all later this afternoon.

CW - was it a breakage of blood vessels in the eyes?  Was it when you were having those awful headaches?

Mookie, no, there didn't seem to be a breakage of the blood vessels in my eyes.  According to the CT scan(the dr. showed me the results), it only shows that I have had 2 strokes.  Did not elaborate as to when I had them.

Joe, you're very welcome.  And if I didn't say anything earlier, thank you for your Christmas card.  It was the first one we received.  Think we've gotten about 4 or 5 more.

We seem to have 'warmed' up a bit, with the outside temp:  Walt fired up the grill, so we have, for Sunday Dinner:

Steaks, pork chops, burgers, brats, hot dogs, grilled 'baked' taters, corn on the cob, slaw, tater salad (German & mustard), baked beans, garden salad and macaroni & cheese.

Everyone have a good afternoon, and if I don't make it back in here, take care and I'll see you all in the morning.

Good Monday morning.  26 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  Good thing is, hardly any breeze/wind blowing this morning.  Supposed to get up to 50 or 51 this afternoon.  Looks like Walt and Sarah will have nice weather this afternoon, to go Christmas Tree shopping.  Yep, we're going to have  live tree this year.

Also want to say Happy Birthday to our very own Randy Voss!!  Randy, if you drop by and see this:  Happy Birthday, and may you have many, many more!  Happy B-Day Happy B-Day Happy B-Day Happy B-Day

Everyone have a very good morning, take care and I'll see you all later on.
