If I didn't drink instant coffee, I would never get any coffee.  It isn't so bad if you drown it with milk.

Cold pizza at breakfast is always a big hit here!  A piece of pizza and cold glass of milk for dunking and I can gag The Driver everytime!

If you are referring to the D&H Image in my signature, you add an image there the same as you would do for a post; just within the profile setup is all for your signature.  Does that make since, if not let me know and I will walk you through it in greater detail.

I'm a believer that signatures should not be "over-sized" as to me they take away from the topics but signatures say something about you too so personalizing them is part of the fun too.

Finally, some rest.

Seven "Polar" trips over the weekend (all stayed on the tracks), plus an after party (actually we had nightly "after parties" at the hotel, but that was just a few of us gathering for some adult beverages and chat), the drive home this morning, wrapping and packing the granddaughter's gifts that I bought Sunday afternoon, and a meeting tonight.

Teaching a class Tuesday night, but at least I don't have to worry about checking on the train (for freezing)...

The general feeling on "Polar" this year is "TGIO."  (Thank Goodness It's Over!)  Hopefully next year won't be as eventful...

In the meantime, I'm pooped, and I'm headed for bed.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  Mild here this morning, with a temp in the mid 40s.  Guess the rain will be in later.  We watched a very good movie last night:  Gone in 60 Seconds, with Nicolas Cage, Robert Duvall and Angelina Jole.  Of course, it meant I didn't get to bed until about 10:45, and morning came too early.  Hopefully, nobody will steal my food this morning at Produce, like last week.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Mudchicken, have plenty of hot cider, hot chocolate, and hot water for hot tea for Larry, Tom, and anyone else who prefers drinking hot tea.  And bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, biscuits & gravy are on the warmer/serving bar.

I'll see you later, after I get through with the produce people.  Take care, and have a good morning.

Mornin Railfans!

It's 20F this morning with a light dusting on the white stuff on the ground.  Got the sound of little feet in the house last night; all 4 of them.

First things first, the image you want to have in your signature has to be located somewhere on the internet.  How big that image is, is best controlled by making a copy of the original file and then re-size the copy before you upload it to the internet.  The image in my signature is located on my DHVM website.

CW; itis sad when someone has to stoop  that low to steal something that is free. Watching over the produce that someone set down while taking other stuff to their car is part of my job at the Center. One person I caught  said she didn't want to wait in line.  Sheesh.  In spite of all that , we hope a MERRY CHRISTMAS  for you and yours.

Cannonball, that lady didn't show up this morning.  But, one of they guys fixed a couple of bags for me, and brought them down to the house, and set them on the porch.  They were still there, when I got home! On the truck, we had:  cabbage, greens, oranges, pears and potatoes.

For the rest of the afternoon/evening, here is our light menu:

1.  Vegetable beef soup w/cornbread

2.  The following sandwiches:

     a.  PB&J

     b.  Grilled cheese

     c.  Tuna salad

The rain isn't supposed to be in until later tonight, but, believe it or not, we have had some drizzle.  High is to be around 54, 55 degrees by 6 p.m.

Everyone have a good afternoon, take care and see you all later.

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  60 degrees with light rain here in Louisville this morning.  We might see another 2 or 3 degree rise in temp, before the temp starts to very slowly start dropping to low 50s, upper 40s tonight.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are all ready to go.  And breakfast is on the warmer/serving bar.

Well, we finally finished decorating the Christmas tree last night.  Both Walt and I have taken a few pictures, and as soon as we get them downloaded to the computer, and uploaded to Shutterfly, we'll get them on here.  Decorating the tree was truly a 'family affair', as Sarah actually got to help decorate this year.  She and I put the garland on the tree, and Walt and I helped put ornaments on.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and if anyone has a special request for today, just let me know, so I can get it fixed.

Cannonball, you must have read my mind:  that is exactly what we have fixed for supper.  Also some Christmas cookies that got baked this afternoon.

Here are several pictures of our real Christmas tree this year:  1.  Bringing the tree into the living room;  2.  View of decorated tree.

Notice no presents under the tree yet.  Oops:  Santa's not made an appearance yet!Wink

That is a nice tree.

When I was young, Santa brought the tree.  My sister and I went to bed on Christmas eve and on Christmas morning, there was the tree, nicely decorated and fully stocked with gifts.  Sure kept the folks busy on "the night before Christmas."

Since I'm most likely to be headed elsewhere for Christmas, as opposed to having company here, I just stick with the outside decorations.

Rain here tonight, but the weatherguessers are suggesting up to an inch of the white stuff tomorrow and Friday.  The question being whether it will still be around Christmas morning.

Railroad is done for the season, got my meetings and stuff out of the way for the week, gifts and cards are all out, so I can kick back for a few days.  Lovin' it.

Whistling With all our youngin'sgone and have their own families , we bought a real non imitation " Charley Brown tree at  Frys-- Kroger.  It looks like the cartoon tree with a real red ornament and Linus blue blanket. This year it plays "Schroeder's tune from the base"  Not having a real tree does not diminish our  Christmas spirit.

Good Thursday morning everyone.  46 degrees and cloudy this morning.  Rain is supposed to be back in by late morning through mid afternoon.  High today should reach around 50 degrees.

Cannonball, et al, for several years, with it just being Walt and myself, we didn't bother with putting up a tree (even tho we had an artificial one).  Instead, Walt would put up his Nativity scene his sister made for him, probably close to 30 years ago.  Or, we had one of the Douglas Fir 2 ft. trees for a few years. He sang and wished you a Merry Christmas.  And thank you all for the compliments on our first live tree in several years.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider, and hot water for hot tea are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer/serving bar.

Everyone have a good morning, keep safe and take care, especially is anyone is leaving out already to go spend the holiday weekend with family/friends.

Peace be with you! 63 and cloudy in Carolina this Thursday morning. The guess is for 77! How is that for a few days before Christmas. I remember having to cut the lawn one CHRISTMAS eve about 30 or so years ago, so this is not really new

Everyone have a safe day.

12" of fresh powder snow here in Denver. Northern Colorado is getting a taste of what the south part got on Monday without the wind. The dogs got out the back door and immediately said the heck with it and came back in. Firing-up the manual snow blower.

....Another mild morning here too.  Just yesterday, I mentioned to Jean, if it keeps this up....I actually could do another mowing.  That would get the last of all the leaves that have blown on to us here since my "last" mowing.  I remember some time in the past, I have mowed in early December....re: Tom's comments.

It is unusual for this time of the year.  We're running lower and lower on heating degree days compared to last year, and the normal figures.

Trivia:  Have added 3 min. as of yesterday to the evening daylight before sundown.

Can't tell it's near Christmas by any snow....{and I'm not looking for any}, but one sure can by what is in the morning paper each day....Sales and more sales.  Many are real too.  I personally have purchased a quality Perry Ellis Portfolio parka at a tremendous savings...Compared prices several places on the internet and locally, and {they even had to order it}, purchased it locally and it was sent right to our door step...{no shipping charge}, and it arrived in less than a week.  {Local store, Maceys', didn't have the needed size in stock}.
