Happy 4th of July everyone here in the United States of America!!!  Big Smile

Coffee is ready, and the juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the warmer/serving station this morning:

Blueberry muffins, Strawberry danish, bacon, eggs, toast.

Got the cake out of the oven, and it will be decorated in Red, White and Blue.  The cake is chocolate.

Got plenty of lemonade, iced tea and soft drinks for today.

Please let me know who all will be around today, so I'll know how many steaks, hot dogs and brats to put on the grill later on this afternoon.  If no one is going to show up, I'm not even going to start the grills.

Blue Sky and heat in Muncie.  Low 90's this afternoon.  Nice and cool in here.  Jean just said it's "buggy" outside right now....Have to check again when it cools down a bit.

Church & Texas Road House today....

Nascar ran last night, so didn't have to do that today.

What a "crap shoot" finish last night.  And how many race cars were smashed & damaged.....Good thing, no one seriously hurt.

Little "E" really discusted at the "2 car teams" approach to restrictor plate running....Don't blame him, I'd rather see each race car / driver race to win.

If anyone comes in this afternoon, here's our menu for the rest of the day:

Bacon is on the warmer/serving station, with bread, lettuce and tomatoes along with mayo and salad dressing, so you can fix your own BLTs, and there's leftover pizzas from last night.

Good Sunday morning everyone.  76 degrees or so this morning, with the sun starting to shine.  Going for a high of 92, 93, but the heat index will fill like anywhere from 95 to 100 degrees out.  Will be a good afternoon to be indoors, in the A/C.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  For breakfast this morning:

1. Blueberry and strawberry muffins,

2.  Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and toast

3.  Fresh fruit:  papaya, kiwi, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple slices, blueberries, blackberries and bananas

Hope you all have a very  good morning, and keep it safe going to Church, work, or whatever you'll be doing this morning.

Ah, decisions decisions, I think I will go with a Chicago Style pizza tonight.

As far as the long weekend goes, we just had a three day one this year. Monday should be a regular work day for us up here. I was disappointed though at how many folks seemed to be working on Friday. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong but it seemed most people took July 1st, Canada Day, off at one time. I live in a commercial area and I couldn't believe the number of delivery trucks running around on Friday morning. And they are building a new infill house on a old lot next door and all the tradesmen were at it as well.

I guess only Government types and Bankers take statutory holidays off anymore.

Sarah got home from work, now she and Walt have gone to the Flea Market out at the Fairgrounds.  I was planning to go, but have an eye strain headache, which makes me have an upset stomach; so I decided to stay home.

Here is our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu:

1.   Anchovie

2.   Canadian bacon

3.   Cheese

4.   Chicago style

5.   Goetta

6.   Ham & green pepper

7.   Hawaiian

8.  Italian sausage

9.  Pepperoni/mushroom

10.  Supreme

Dessert:  Chocolate Ice cream

Who all will be around the rest of the weekend?

....It's getting rather warm fast here today.  And we too will have along with the heat...humidity.  Forecast for us today will be temp up to 96.

Have partly sunny with some clouds now.

Bruce mentioning the GCT program...That does sound interesting.  I've seen several porgrams on those massive stations in the past, and found all to be very interesting.

I was quite young when I was on a trip that took us in and thru and back in again to Penn Station in NYC, and oh that place was so fascinating to me.  So much so, just a few years ago I purchased a great book on it showing its workings, WWII activity, {that's when I was there}, and then it's fall and distruction to make space for the Madison Square Garden complex above the track structure below....What a progression of events.  And the distruction of a historic structure.

I have never been in GCT, but have consumed every bit of info / photos, etc., I come across of it, and agree it too is so impressive.

Washington D C ex. Penn Station as well...That one I've been in before and after it's renovation a couple decades ago.  Also a great and beautiful one.

Everyone be safe and enjoy the long holiday.  Cake  Happy birthday to our great free country...!

Edit:  I just checked our instrument at 6:30 and it was still on 93, so we may have come real close to that 96 earlier that was forecast for our high today....

And a good Saturday morning to everyone. It is shaping up to be a nice day today after a couple of cool days. 50° now with a high of 79° today with a high of 81° tomorrow. It only got up into the sixties for the activities yesterday.

CW, I was going to mention that I did watch Thursday's airing of "Combat Hospital". That was the show's second episode and I think it does have some potential. Last night I watched a program on the Discovery Channel called "Nerve Center". This episode dealt with NY's Grand Central Terminal. That place is unbelievable.

Knowing a bit about RR stations I thought it was funny, interesting and amazing to see just how big that operation had to be. Yes, it has an Operator's office, (actually the RTC center) and a Waiting Room, but it takes 3000 employees to run the place! And being New Yorkers, some of them are pretty hard boiled characters. They have a heating and air conditioning plant foreman who was a retired Marine, and this guy had the build and the attitude to have wrestled T-Rex's back in the day! Actually, they all seemed to have enough attitude each to be enough for three people. And they get the job done. I'm not sure what network you would see that show in the US.

Well, that is all I've got for now.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  Yes, Joe, it is going to hazy, hot and humid here in Louisville today, also.  And thank you, Joe, for taking care of breakfast.  Decided not to set alarm last night, and Trapper didn't wake me until 6:00 this morning.  If I'm not awake and up, he'll always come up on the bed, and give my head a nudge (or four) to make me wake up.

Everyone have a safe day, weekend for those of you who won't be showing up in here the rest of the weekend, until Tuesday.  For anyone sticking around, I'll have the pizzas ready later on.

Paula, it doesn't take a doctor's opinion for me to know you have a good heart. It is encouraging to hear the second opinion, though.

Walt, I said move into new quarters, not move with new quarters. Anyway, if you are going to drop them down a rathole, why be concerned about their age?Smile

A pleasant day today; no need to run the swamp cooler two days in a row, but there is no rain in sight.

Be safe this weekend; be sure to place the fireworks on the ground, pointed away from anything that may be damaged, and move away fast after you light them. As I was looking at the new Utah regulations (we may fire aerial displays off now), I realized that there is no place in our backyard where could set any aerial display fireworks off (not that I would buy any at their current high prices).

JoeKoh
afternoon matt and I had a great

Joe:  huh?Huh?Confused

What a loooong day this has been!  Like Walt said, I've been busier than a one-armed paper hanger:  doctor, home, pay bills, go to grocery, etc.  And still more things to do before bedtime.

Johnny, thank you so much for getting our new digs open!  Guess my mind was so cluttered with today's TO DO list, that it didn't even register that it was time to move.  Oh well, at least you were thinking!!

Our Friday Fish Fry is now on the warmer/serving station, so you all can gather round and fix your plates.  Fish:  Catfish, bass, flounder, trout, halibut, haddock, perch, tilapia, shrimp, clams, oysters, perch, cod, and all the regular side dishes.

Desserts:  chocolate cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/chocolate icing, peach cobbler, blackberry pie, pecan pie and lemon icebox pie.  Plenty of ice cream, whatever flavor you want.

Heart was doing good this morning, but have to go have tests done in the next couple of weeks on the PAD.  Start a new blood pressure med tonight.  BP was a tad high:  150/85.

Hope everyone has had a good day, and hope you all have a good evening.  Take care, and I'll see you all in the morning.
