Continues very dry down here.

On the plus side...Its FIESTA here in San Antonio!!!!

Morning Everyone!

Well, I've done my part to ensure that we'll get some rain today.  I ran both my cars through the full service car wash. Stick out tongue

Weather guessers are calling for sunny windy conditions here in Alamo City, with a high of 96. Cool

(There's also a slight possibility for thunderstorms).

Enjoy your Sunday!

Yep - I washed mine after I visited the local boat $how - and hit rain on the way home.  More forecast.  Still - I got the road grime and what may have been the residue of horse do...

Open house at the fire house yesterday was poorly attended.

Did the first night of the PBS merchandise auction last night (running camera).  Back there again tonight.

Well, hello to all of you!  I am at the library, using a computer.  Our DSL modem aparently got struck by lightning the other day, and we won't have a new one until sometime tomorrow (Tuesday, 3/12/11) at the earliest.  So, no using the computer at home until we get the new modem.   Just wanted to let you all know, so you wouldn't think we were sick, dead or totally peeved off at anyone.Wink

While I am here, I've fixed some soups for this afternoon and evening:

1.  vegetable beef

2.  cream of broccoli

3.  tomato

All three soups served with cornbread and and you can also have the following sandwiches with them:

1.  PB&J

2.  Tuna melt

3.  BLT

Everyone enjoy, we'll see you all when in  the next day or two and you all take care.

....Lucky here....No storms last night nor this morning.  Rain this morning and mid 60's temps.

Grass and green things are really growing now.  Very pretty time of the year upcoming.  Blossoms are coming out too.

Thunderbumpers overnight last night, and wind today.  Scattered showers showing on the radar, but not much falling.

Looks like the nasty weather coming along ahead of the cold front is staying chiefly well south of us.  The Appalachins look to be in for it - lot's of watches up.

Back to the TV station tonight for night three of their auction.  Hopefully they've gotten a couple of technical glitches fixed.

....Wow....12:29 and no one in here today yet.

Our day here is cool, but nice and sunny.  Jean just returned from store and car wash....so we must think the sun will shine for a couple of days.  Intend to get our truck thru the car wash today too.

Have been on here for about 2 hr's. this morning...Where does the time go when messing around on here.  Was over on the SPRR forum, checking in and doing a bit of responding.  I can relate to that subject, with our home place being rather close to where the work was done on that effort, and then of course, 50 years later...creating the Pennsylvania Turnpike.  And I do remember that....And was on site at some of the construction locations....even at a pretty young age.

Clouds were traveling west here this morning, but looking out the office window here I note the movement has shifted to more southwest direction....Believe that means a "Low" system was passing south of us and is further away {east}, now.

Must be nice outside - nobody's been in here!

Back from another night running camera at our PBS station.  I have to do a presentation on a proposed fire truck tomorrow, so no TV station...

For now, time for bed.

....Yes, it is nice outside here in Muncie.  Probably about seasonal temps., along with clear skies, and bright sunshine.  Grass growing fast now.  About due for 3rd mowing. Still don't have my new seat assy. on the John deere, but no problem....current one is just cracked on the seat plastic at ea. side, so I can handle that...Do have the new one ready to install...

Must stop and get some gravel {shale to me}, today as we've had a 20 or so ft. long shrub taken out and need to refresh gravel in that space.   Have that all around the house perimeter.  No mud on brick during rain, etc....Jean wants to pick up to "rockers" for rear patio....Guess we'll set out there {rocking away}, and watch the "golfers" go by...

Flog (golf spelled backwards) is what those folks do to golfballs.

Range Fire at Las Animas/Hasty/Caddoa (diningcar's home turf) has rekindled and is threatening BNSF's La Junta Sub at last report (Amtrak #3/#4 may be having fun here- the smoked food and ambiance is not the dining car's fault...Hello? - A littlle rain please!)

Sir Muddy - we are going to get rain all day tomorrow.  But right now it looks to be coming from your area and will swirl around from the north and then hit us.  I can see the little trucks toting the rain right thru your area.  Guess the best to hope for would be that one will spring a leak?

Maybe you, Boss Hen and da Boyz should think about relocating to mmmm....North Platte; Kearney; Grand Island or if all else fails - Lincoln?  Mischief

Save Colorado for skiing and snow for da boyz!

Since we seem to have all kinds of property in the middle of town, the mother ship could relocate, too!  We can squeeze them in between the tracks.  That's the new location for all building!

Joe, you must be the only one glad to see me back! Smile, Wink & Grin

If anyone is interested in lunch/supper, here is today's menu:

Meat loaf w/mashed taters, green beans, home made biscuits w/milk gravy and corn on the cob.  Dessert will be chocolate cake, made from scratch chocolate pie, and your choice of apple or peach cobbler w/your choice of ice cream.

With all the standing water around the downtown area along the Ohio, there's going to be a lot of places where people cannot go this year, to watch the Thunder over Louisville Air Show and Fireworks.  At least a third of Waterfront Park is under water.  And police are asking that boaters stay ashore, and not put their boats into the water.  Definitely too dangerous this year. Mudchicken, wish we could send some of this water your way!!

Everyone have a good afternoon, take care and see you all later.

Well hello everyone. Glad to be back. First off I just wanted to let you know my absence wasn't because I was mad at anyone. I have just been unexpectedly busy.

I was very annoyed with the forum service in the middle of last week, and during the times when the World Men's Curling Championship was on I didn't have time to sit around waiting for pages to load. That ended on Sunday and then I became very busy with the board of the housing association where I live. I have been a board member for the last six years and treasurer for most of that time and I was getting everything organized for my successor. My final meeting was last night.

Have we ever had some wild weather lately. On Monday, Tuesday and yesterday afternoons we have had fronts move in from the Pacific Ocean. Monday brought a terrific windstorm. There was a fellow on the TV who lived about 20 blocks north of me who had just parked his car in front of his home when a very large tree crashed down across the trunk of the car and pushed the back bumper almost down to the road. Then, as fast as he could turn around to look and see what had happened, another tree came down across his hood and totally crushed that area. At that point he dove down to the floor board and waited until the wind stopped blowing. I think they will have to find a forklift truck to put that car on a flatbed truck, as I don't think any of the wheels can still roll.

Tuesday's front was just cloudy and windy, but last night we had yet another blizzard. Between about 7 and 8 inches. It is really heavy wet spring type snow. That stuff seems to weigh about 100 lbs. per shovelful, and we generally hear about people suffering heart attacks after trying to deal with that stuff. It is 32°F and overcast now.

If you remember, I participated in a thread about flooding and closures on the CPR mainline in the Medicine Hat area east of Calgary last year, and now it looks like it is happening again. This latest snow has slowed down the melting, but if it gets worse I will reactivate the old thread for continuity sake.

I will drop by for supper later. Good to see everyone again.

Good Evening. Thought I would drop by for supper.

It got up to about 35°F this afternoon and the Sun came out. The street out in front of me is a sloppy rutted mess, and when it drops back below freezing those ruts are going to be bad.

No more bad news on the flooding front, but there was a story that said golf course openings are being pushed back a further two weeks. And it could be longer if water stands too long on the greens.

It is a pleasure to see this site working so well for this time of evening. Everyone have a good night and I will drop by tomorrow.

Good Friday morning everyone.  Hope you all had a very good evening.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning, along with the regular Friday assortment of doughnuts, danish, you'll find bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy and an assortment of fresh fruits.

This morning is my 2nd trip to Physical Therapy for the week.  (And yes, I am doing them each day at home.)  Ending the week with a morning session, instead of an afternoon one.

Everyone have a very good morning, and I'll see you all this afternoon.  Take care and keep safe.

It's raining!  Cool  Not gully-washers, just awesome rain.  It is cold - 45 - and won't be much more than that.  But the snow looks to stay about 100 miles west of us and is bothering the Dakotas.  So all the animals in our yard are getting a good bath!

Might stay inside today - been going out almost every day.  Or not.  Driver has some errands and I may have to ride along.  Warmer weather back tomorrow.

Good morning. Cold and clear so far today.

I was up briefly at 3:30 this morning and noticed the temp. was down to 22°F. It is still only 26°. A bit too cool for April in my opinion. At least it slows down the flooding talk.

I plan to take it real easy today after the week I have had. Hope everyone has a good day.
