CW, it is nice to put faces to your names. I could never post my picture as it would precipitate class action lawsuits all over everywhere when my ugly mug broke peoples computer monitors!

I will have a #7 Pizza to enjoy while I zone out on the TV this evening.

I will check back during the Gold Medal game in the morning.

Gee, Quentin - I'd think you would be in gravel country - glacial gravel, which is all too common in southern MI.

You can prop that sagging jet stream up a bit if you like.  It's a whole +14F here as I write this.  Brrrr.  At least it's not snowing...

The big pile left over from clearing our FD banquet hall parking lot will take a while to melt at this rate.

And since it's staying below freezing during the day, too, I suspect the maple syrup producers may be having issues.

Time for bed.

Good Sunday morning everyone.  Bruce, if the monitor stayed in one piece, after posting my picture, I'm sure it will hold up with your picture.

32 degrees w/a dusting of snow on the ground here in Louisville this morning.  Roads appear to be dry.  I believe our high today is to be in the mid 40s.  And Quentin, I'm sorry to say it, but the guessers are saying we could see some more light snow tonight.  Like you, and most other people, I'm sick of seeing snow, and more than sick of hearing that word!!

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, strawberry milk, regular milk, hot water for tea are all fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  oatmeal, bacon, toast, bagels, bear claws, English muffins, sausage, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs.

Everyone enjoy your morning, and if anyone has any Sunday Dinner requests, please let me know.

....Your correct Larry....Plenty of "gravel" in this area....my comments referring to "shale" comes from the fact our home area is western Pennsylvania.  But we've learned to say "gravel" to fit in here.....

I do have it all around the house....It keeps any mud from splashing up on the brick, and all I need to do is put one tractor wheel on the gravel edge, and mow all around the house and no trimming involved in that area.

Trimming...For anyone interested....i purchased a "Worx" tool, combination trimmer and edger, 18 volt battery powered last season, and it really works great.  Head can be rotated 90 degrees to go from trimming to edging....as along our 70 ft. driveway and a couple sidewalks.  Even has small wheels to use in the edging position.

Sunshine here this morning, but just 24 degrees now.  Must get ready for church.  Believe we'll take that long resting car out of the garage to do so today.

A good sunny day to all......

Nine-thirty in the morning and still only +17F....

Quentin - we have shale in this area as well, but it's not the predominant loose stone.  For that we choose between glacial gravel (there are a number of sizable deposits) and crushed limestone, the whole version of which underlies much of this area.  To say that well water around here is hard is an understatement.

There are several large "gulfs" in the area that run through shale.  Out west they'd probably be called canyons...

Good morning everyone. Nice to see so many around this early.

24°F and fog with no windchill right now. The end of the snow has now been pushed back to midday Monday.

I'm just dropping by for a moment as we are in a tough gold Medal Curling game and at the moment we are leading

Thanks for breakfast CW.

Well, Canada lost it. Our last shot of the game came up short. So we get the Silver medal.

Not sure what my plan for the rest of the day is yet.

No one interested in dinner?!  Guess that is a good thing, as I can't think of anything either.  Reckon we'll just make it simple things, for any of you watching the NCAA tournaments:

Pizza, barbecued ribs, chicken wings and sloppy joes w/chips will have to suffice, I guess.

You all enjoy your afternoon/evening and take care.

P.S.  Has anyone heard anything from grampaw pettibone (Tom)?  I don't even think he has been on facebook for quite a while.

Good Monday morning everyone.  Hip Hip Hooray! for the Kentucky Wildcats!!!  Thanks goodness I've finally stopped biting my fingernails, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have any nails left.

Coffee, juices, milk, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, cider (hot or cold) and plenty of hot water for our hot tea drinkers are all ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, English muffins, turkey bacon, pork sausage, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns or tater tots, biscuits & milk gravy.

We currently have 36 degrees here this mornning.  It was 37 degrees the past 2 hours; guess it'll probably drop another degree or two before it rebounds, going for a high of 49, maybe low 50s for a high today.

Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all later.

Snow! Two inches, so far, in about an hour. This should knock down the red flag warnings! (100 acre range fire near the house yesterday, they had a range fire start up north in the snow this morning)

.....Sunny and cool in Muncie today.  But the little green leaves keep poping out in various places.

At Bruner's restaurant this morning, watched a long grain train pass E B.  Then on the way back at another location in town, had to wait for a W B over on N S Frankfort line.  Conclusion:  After seeing those trains, I believe the trains are getting longer again....Perhaps a note of the increasing economy...?  Hope so.

Anyone else read the extensive article on the computer here today about Social Security....Explaining how most recipients will probably not get any advanage of "COLA" again this coming year.

That should get a lot of people's attention....Anyone, involved....seek it and read it at the explanations.....Look out for the "push back noise" about that.....

A little frustration setting in:  Our planning of having the lawn rolled has not happened yet, and....In a day or so, I want to mow....It really needs rolled too....Seems the type of Winter we have had, roughed it up pretty good.  So many yards in this area have so many "brown spots" from the Winter too....Mine is not as bad as many, but does have some.

Well, helped adjust the brakes on a car today.  A baggage car.  Not terribly complicated, but everything is just BIG.  And dirty.  Time for a shower.

Wow!  It took me 20 minutes just to get in the door here.  Kalmbach really needs to speed things up, so everything isn't so slow!!

Anyways, Joe and others here, the leftovers are what Walt fixed last night:

His grandmother's Italian spaghetti casserole, w/a tossed salad and fresh steamed broccoli, and bread sticks.

Tomorrow, is my first appointment for this next round of physical therapy sessions.  My appointment is for 2:00 (set my pickup time for 1 p.m., so I can actually be there on time).

This afternoon, I actually got out and took a nice walk.  Then, came home and did my back exercises along with the new exercises for my right leg/knee and hip.

Mudchicken, thanks for letting my know about dining car!  Our predicted "snow" last night didn't make it out of the clouds last night/this morning.  And we got up to about 50 degrees today for our high.  Maybe we're beginning to get back on track for spring weather and temps.

Everyone have a good evening, be safe and take care.  See you all in the morning.

Well, good Tuesday morning everyone.  Everything has been cleared and washed up from supper last night.  Now, that everything has been straightened up:

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Regular breakfast menu items are on the serving station.

There is a pot of vegetable beef soup on the stove, simmering for lunch today.  Just in case I don't get back in, before I have to leave for my physical therapy.  (And I'd better see that a whole bunch of you have been in, when I do get back.)

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and see you all later.

Good afternoon everyone. Great day outside.

Sunny, and 46°F. First sunny day since the 19th.

I had a lot of errands to run yesterday and when that was done I had to lie down for awhile. When I finally felt like checking in here I could not get on to the site.

While I was out I did get a chance to see CN moving empty intermodal cars near their Sarcee yard. Considering we are at the end of their line, off of their mainline from Edmonton, I understand they do a pretty good business here. They haul domestic containers from central Canada, at a rate that compensates for the roundabout routing, by providing a single railway service. It seems to work because they have been doing it for years. CP can't possibly pick up from every loading point down there, so once CN lifts the cars, they carry them all the way here.

Everyone have a good day.

I hit areas with quite a bit of snow still on the ground enroute to Utica yesterday - but they are areas where they get a lot of snow.  Only piles around my house, and we got into the 40's today, so they'll be disappearing soon.

My tulips and lillies are starting to peek through the mulch - always a good sign.

A little scare first thing this AM, though, as it was "spitting" snow for a little while.  No accumulation, fortunately.

It'll be a bit before I have to mow here, though...

Helloooo, I finally made it back in.  And I'm glad there's been several of you in here today.  Dan, welcome back!  Good to see you back in here.

Made it to therapy a little bit early, and they managed to get in early!  Today, after I did the "home exercises", the therapist put weights on my right ankle, and just above the ankle for a couple of exercises.  I really felt some movement, and said something to therapist.  He said, "Good, You're doing it the way your supposed to.  That is exercising the hip."  May be, but with those weights, it was really pulling on my leg muscles.  Get to go back tomorrow morning.  Appointment is at 10 a.m.

For supper tonight, there's plenty of vegetable beef soup, and there's also still plenty of Walt's spaghetti casserole left.

We had close to 70 people show up for Produce this morning.  We ran out of food (and they didn't bring that much to us):  potatoes, lettuce, oranges, 1/2 pint containers of orange juice and individual packets of strawberry yogurt chips.

Rain is supposed to be back in our area around 9 p.m. tonight, thru noon tomorrow.  Possibility of snow flakes mixed in with the rain.    Everybody have a good evening and take care.
