Q - when you do the multi - remember to add 7 hours to your time.  The best time to watch is usually either during the nite or before 9am local time.

If the cameras all say connecting to the media and don't buffer, they probably won't connect.  Back out and start again.  They will click usually after that.  By about 4-5 pm their time, cameras 4-9 are dark and not lit at nite.  Camera 3 is backlit and has a night vision camera because in about March or April, there will be a nesting pair in their with eggs.

Camera 4 is visible at nite, just not as plain.

Sometimes, if you get one camera, double click on it and it will open up to full screen.  Then double click again and it may bring up the rest of them with it.

Camera 2 has delayed sound on it.  If you don't mute it, it will play the train sounds well after the train has gone by.

Somewhat in a funk here.

Was just informed that one of my AREMA mentors, Bill Stokely (ICRR/FEC-Ret) had passed away. On the engineering side, this guy was a legend. Always ready to teach some newbie (like me) the how and the why behind railroad soil mechanics and railroad pipeline practice. He will be missed.Sigh.

Condolences to Sir Chicken.  Good mentors are getting harder & harder to find.  As you know.

Mookie, we no longer have a bird feeder in the yard.  The one we had was getting kind old, and a good breeze would have it leaning too much.  Maybe we'll think about replacing it sometime soon.

Menu of the day:  leftover pizzas from Saturday night, and leftovers from Sunday Dinner.

At 1:43, we're getting light rain/drizzle.  Tomorrow, sometime, we're to get more rain, then dry out Wednesday, in time for more rain turning to snow Thursday, with maybe 1 to 3 or 3 to 4 inches of snow Thursday night/Friday morning.  Who knows, forecast will definitely change by then, and we'll probably get nada.

Everyone take care, keep warm, dry and enjoy the afternoon.

I found this great automatic bird/squirrel feeder....I put peanuts in a bucket, seed in a bucket, corn in a bucket and a pail for water.  Then each morning my automatic feeder puts it all out for me.

Only drawback is I need to wait for him to get out of bed before it goes out.

Not so automatic is it?Big Smile

We are having a warm spell here–the morning temperature was about 40o, and ice and snow are melting in the sunshine.

Hi Jen......Just checked into the NL cams, and pulled up 1 & 2 just fine, but again, when we go to the milti cams....all six black windows come up flashing something like:  "connecting to network"...

Also if I wait awhile, one window will open with a pic. and it will be flashing and cycling thru several of the cam shots.

Just the one time that I connected to "multi", it did behave for me.

1 & 2 connect fine....sound just on 1.  Just watched several "local" type commuter trains fly by and a rather long "passenger train" fly by.

Time, about:  noon EST

Edit:  I note several others are in the "cold" artic figures....Right now, we're in a balmy 30 degrees.

 Mookie:

Arctic air coming in later today - must find hat and muffler.....

Already here.  Something less than -20F last night.  The weather station wimps out at -20.

No mail today, so no reason to venture out, aside from restocking the bird feeders.

Morning all! Thanks for breakfast CW!

Looks like we may get some freezing rain this afternoon. Roads and rails may become very slippery.

Be safe all!

Thanx CW - I am so in that coffee cup!

Leaving note for Q:  If you get on NL webcam within the next hour or so, those apostrophe-looking items in cam 5 are cows.  They come and go around that canal when the weather is nice.  At nite, they disappear into the tree line at the top of the camera and head to the barn.

Good Monday morning everyone.  Justin, it's good to see you were in yesterday!  I think I'm feeling a bit better this morning.  At least, so far.  Funny thing is, though, I didn't sleep that well last night; tossed and turned all night.  (And no, I didn't take any naps yesterday.)

We have 25 degrees this morning, going for a high in the upper 30s to possibly mid 40s this afternoon, before the rain comes in this evening sometime.  The weather guessers are saying by Thursday, we could get 1 to 3 inches of snow again.  Probably why we still have some patches of snow left from the last snow.

Coffee, juices, and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Mookie, if you come in, I've set your coffee cup on the counter for you.  Regular breakfast items on the serving station.

Everyone have a good morning, keep warm, take care and see you all later.

Somebody must have broken the bulb on the thermometer - the temp is dropping like a rock.  I left Utica about 4:30 and it was ~+15F.  Half way home it was down to +2F, and right now here at the house it's -5F.

My waterbed sounds really inviting right now.

Greetings all!Smile

Caught 20T today headed eastbound. Sure is frosty today. Looks like it will warm up enough for us to get some rain later on this week (Were talking Monday into Monday night) just in time to start freezing and snowing again. Glad to see you all again!

Mookie, not sure if I'd trade with you, being cold, cold, cold; but I'm not feeling too good today.  Don't know exactly what it is, but definitely feeling blah.

Our Sunday Dinner is going to be:

1.  Tuna Melt

2.  Sloppy Joes w/fries & salad; and whatever else you all can find in the kitchen.

You all take care, have a good afternoon and see you all later.

I'm cold; I'm cold; I am cold!  Blah

Must have had a derailment sometime Friday nite or very early Sat am cuz we looked like Hulcher's homebase.  My bet is a loaded coal train, since a small switcher was moving two loaded coal cars back into the yards.  Looked like new rail was going in, but it was so cold and windy, we couldn't stay and watch too long.

Need some hot chocolate - and a blanket!

Looks like we've had a pretty slow day in here.  Hope it picks up tonight.  Joe and others, the derailment didn't include any injuries:  auto racks were empty, and no it wasn't an RC operation.  That's about all I know.

Here is our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu:

1.  Anchovie

2.  Cheese

3.  Canadian bacon

4.  Goetta

5.  Hawaiian

6.  Chicago style

7.  Pepperoni/mushroom

8.  Supreme

Got to see most of the UK/LSU basketball game.  Way to go, Cats, for winning handsomely!!   (Quite a blow out, actually.)

Everyone enjoy, have a good evening, and see you all in the morning.

.....We were up to a snow melting temp of 35 plus earlier, but I just checked, and we're now at 31.  Overcast today, but no snowing.

Note we're to have snow flurries next few days possible, but no noted accumulation.  So, we continue on in our trek thru Winter, here....not too bad as of yet.  I know some have been hit hard, and that's too bad, but it seems we're into a warming of some areas of ocean waters again, seemingly, at least part of the cause of weather extremes in some locations.

Good Saturday morning all.  34 degrees here this morning.  Temp should be going down to the upper 20s, then our high today is supposed to be about 37 degrees.  May see a little bit of rain, but nothing much.

Coffee, juices, and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Big Saturday brunch is now on the serving station, ranging from bagels, bear claws, to country fried steak, fried ham, red eye gravy, grits, pancakes, etc.

Well, it looks like CSX had a derailment last night, out in the east end and O'Bannon yard.  On the news this morning, saw several auto racks on their sides.  Glad Sarah's not working out in that area.

Everyone have a good morning, take care whatever you'll be doing this morning, and see you all later.

Mookie

Q - first - they are having rain off and on, so the pix may be distorted, depending on how wet the lenses get.

All the screens must "connect to the media".  If they connect and start "playing", then double click on one of them.  This will bring up that screen and will also enlarge the screen for individual viewing of that area.

So hit "multi", wait a minute to see if they connect, try the above if they don't and if none of that works - it's you.

Screen 7 is black now, since there is no light at the "duck site".  I am there now and it is raining pretty hard.  But can see all the screens but 7.  And hear them all, too.  They are all mic'd - sometimes you will get an airplane going by or a duck quacks right into the mic.  But at nite they are pretty quiet and you can listen to the rain.

Ok Jen....Just checked the Netherland's cams....Now, it's all working just fine.  But earlier today, the "multi", was really screwing up.  Everything, including sound now ok.

And just for the heck of it, I just checked the Roanoke cam, and it's still in color and had a coal train west bound passing.

Now.....Must run and catch our ball game with the Chicago Bulls...That is, against our Pacers down in indy at Conseco.....Later...

Well, folks, I finally got in the door!  This morning, about 7:45, after I woke up, tried to get in, but got message that everything down for maintenance.  Then, Walt was on the puter, and I went to library and grocery store.  Just now making it back in here.

Joe, thanks for taking care of things in here.  Supper looks really good.  I think our high got up to 35 degrees F. today:  heat wave, considering what our temps have been lately.

Everyone have a good evening, take care, and see you all later.

Jen....In trying the cams in Netherlands:  Cam 1 & 2 I can bring up and they stay steady.  Cam 1 in color, but looks like blotches of water distorting the lights, etc...Cam 2 seems to be B&W but steady and ok.

But clicking on "multi" brings up the black screen divided in 9 spots for pics.  But not in full control of them......and a screen will come up and cycle thru various cams....

Is it having trouble now, or is it I having trouble.
