Wow!  RJ and Willie both in the same evening!  Welcome back, gentlemen!

Q - click on Multi - you will get 9 webcams at once. 1 & 2 are still trains;  3rd one is nestcam; 4th is around the corner from the traincams; 5 is part of a canal in 7 (which has ducks and one egret and one bunny (on the trail) and 6 & 9 are for the peregrins.   8 is a birdfeeder that is close to the canal, the farm and lots of bird species.

I hope you can get it to work - it is fun to watch all of them.

It's confusing to us.....Someone, something....seems to be stirring up the climate around the world with something.  Guess will have to lay blame to Willie.....Most weather for us comes from the west in general.

Consider it my gift to you! Cool

Even I'm getting tired of the cold. It's not fun walking around a college campus with a wind chill of 20 below zero.

Speaking of Robins, I haven't seen any around here this winter, but I remember a few winters ago there were some. This winter, it seems like a lot of geese have stayed around rather than flying south.

Jen....After reading your post, I took a look at the Netherlands cam and just saw a auto carrier train speeding right to left.  Open carrier cars.  They must not have any vandalism to not have them in covered carriers, as we do.

But I was looking for the "bird House".....Thought you ment it to be in the picture.  Checked both cam 1 & 2.  Couldn't see anything of it or anyplace it might be.

I had not been on this site for months....In fact, had to update my media player.  And I didn't hear any bells ringing at the crossing as it went by....I heard the train, so audio is working.  Yes, it's still dark there.

Looking again, perhaps it's over on cam 2 and can't be seen at night.

Finally - made it out into the big, wide world today!  Have been housebound since Friday with cold and snow and nonsense.  Driver figures if he doesn't have to get out in it, he won't.  Don't blame him a bit!

Now I can sit back and watch the snow all east of us and but a distant memory.

We went grocery shopping - ugh!  Feel like a truck ran over me and a whole lot poorer.  But we can sit around with a fridge full of food and ponder whatever can we have for supper!  Came home, put food all away and then went out for lunch.  Something wrong with this picture.

For any of you that watch the Netherlands railcam - they have a nestcam among their cameras.  Has a resident - I think it is a "Hobby" - a raptor bird - darling little killer!  We watched them all last spring and summer and they raised 5 little hobbies and sent them on their way.  This one didn't migrate and spends time in the box, either resting or eating (gross) - very hard on the local mice.

Anyway - I peeked in before bedtime - 10 pm our time and 7 hours later there, so 5 am and still dark their time.  I have seen Bobbi the Hobby bring in a lot of dead small birds and mice.  That's nice - a home cooked meal.  But this is the first time I have ever seen the "meal" come alive to the door!  A healthy meal-on-wheels mouse strolled up and went right into the box looking for "remains of the day".  Found a few leftovers, chewed on the doorway for a few minutes, inspected the whole place and then took off for the roof.  Bobbi spends time away from the box most days and all nites, so no violence on screen.

Now the camera is down today for repairs, so I am left wondering if there were any snacks this afternoon.  As many offerings as the parents bring to the nest during the baby raising, they must have a lot of snacks running around their city.  Gives Bobbi a round figure, exercise and a hobby..

Groan....

I will be quiet now, for awhile

Justin - sorry for your loss.  It's never easy, but sometimes it's the best.

Decent day today, if cold, but it is mid-January.

Working with several other volunteers on arrangements for our display at the big train show in Springfield, MA.  Should be interesting...

CW - Just haven't been in.  So let's just pot-luck supper.  I'm sure there's some goodies in the fridge.

RJ, welcome back!!  It's been quite awhile since you've been in here.  Glad to know you're still with us!

Hmm, no one has any requests today?  Or are you all ignoring my presence here?  Okay, I can take a hint.  Bye, all, see you later.

Justin: sorry to hear about that.

On a lighter note, PDN just wandered through this part of the country, returning home from diningcar's neighborhood. Hope the east coast is thawed out by the time he gets there.

....A bright overcast morning here with cold temps., but not severe.  A bit of snow last evening, I'll call it a skiff.

Just read on here of David Nelson passing....That was kind of a surprise.  The family that was projected on that TV program some decades ago, probably is difficult to find now.

Rickey {the younger one}, had a violent end with his airplane crash.   Always liked his music.  Had a nice melody and beat to it.

Item:  Noted we are seeing another Robin off season activity here this morning.  Dozens of them are here flying from tree to tree....Just sort of strange behavior.  This is the second time in about a week we've seen Robins here in numbers.  The other time, the ground was bare and they were getting worms out of the ground as they do in Spring / Summer, but today, that's not possible.

Is "climate change" effecting their sense of normal operation.....Something is....

Sorry to hear about your loss Justin.  Lord knows it's not an easy thing to go through.

2 inches of snow tonight...and then three tomorrow night.  At least there isn't much wind so the temps aren't bad.  A pretty quiet day on tap...or at least that's the plan.

Justin, she couldn't be in better hands, and your family is in my prayers.

Had a quack visit this morning. It left me with a headache, but now am tube free for the first time in almost a month. Waiting for the pain killer to kick in and then it will be night night.

I saw where David Nelson passed on. That is the literal end of an early TV Family that promoted family values

Tom, I saw that too, yesterday morning, very first thing when I booted up the computer. I think I was in a state of shock for the rest of the day.  All the ones we grew up watching on TV and hearing on the radio are leaving this world.

Good Thursday morning everyone.  Justin, I'm very sorry to hear about your aunt.  I'll remember you and family in my prayers and thoughts.

Tom, it is good to hear that you finally have your tubes out.  Sounds like you are on the mend.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Regular breakfast menu is ready and on the serving station.

Temp's in the teens w/single digit wind chills is the order for this morning and the day.  High today in the low to mid 20s.  May see some sunshine.

Everyone have a very  good morning, keep warm and take care.  Any requests for today?  (This is Request Thursday) where you all let me know what you want in here.)

Hello all and happy Wednesday.

Our snow total for this time around is 4 inches. Looks like another wave is coming in this Friday. School was canceled today because the roads were so bad.

Keep our family in your prayers. Just found out my dear Aunt Beverly passed on to be with the Good Lord about a hour ago. But, she’s surely on the Evening Express Train to Heaven. Not hurting anymore.

Be safe all.

Not alot of snow overnight, but it's a bit windy, so there's minor drifting.  That's more of a hassle because it makes the shovelling harder - which is why I fired up the snowblower.

Part of my driveway was actually bare pavement, due to the eddies around the house.

Definitely cold, though. Planning on staying in the house as much as I can.  Plenty of prospective projects...

For our lunch and supper menu, here's what I've come up with:

1.  Round steak w/mushroom and cream of mushroom soup as a sauce over the steak; broccoli and brussels sprouts, both in cheese sauce;

2.  Cheesy tuna casserole w/peas & carrots

3.  Pinto beans w/fresh baked cornbread and fried taters w/onion

Hearing all the reports on the National news of the flooding in Australia, particularly in Brisbane, has anyone here on the forums heard anything from Kozzie?!?!  I know Walt and I haven't heard anything from him in probably 2, if not 3 years.  We hope he and family are all right.

......It looks like Winter out side here....But our streets are plowed, and some young fellows just stopped by and are working on our 70' driveway now for 20 dollars...Pretty standard for our size driveway.

Mid 20's in our area this morning.  Many other people have much more of this stuff and over on the east coast and on up from NYC, it appears to be another rather big load of snow to contend with.

Much more snow this season compared to last, but really it's been small amounts each time....Yesterday, I'm counting it 3 1/2".

7 day forecast, I noted this monring, has snow showers or flurries for next week....Winter.....not my favorite time.

Good morning! I don't want to have to go outside today, but the plow came through and cleaned my street of snow yesterday morning while I was at my chiropractor's office, and I must cut a path out beyond the curb. Currently, our temp is about 3.5 degrees below 0, and the windchill factor places us at -15. It's not going to be fun moving that snow, and we had gotten something like 4 to 6 inches in the last couple nights.

CW, thanks for putting breakfast together for the rest of us!

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  Very cold, for us this morning, with temps in the low 20s, but wind chill makes it feel like 3 above zero outside.  Schools back in session today, as the main roads are in very good shape.  Just the subdivision streets and some secondary streets are still in bad shape.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is ready and on the serving station.

Hope you all have a good morning.  Keep safe and warm, take care and see you all later.

NYC - 8-10" Forecast

Albany - 4-6" Forecast

Us - Snow flurries and snow showers - probably no appreciable accumulation.

We're ready for it and we aren't getting any.  They aren't, and once again they're getting hit...

Got an errand to run.

Well, here's the picture I took awhile ago with my cellphone, standing on our front porch, looking across the street.  Looks like we have about 1 1/2 to 2 inches, with more due later this afternoon, tonight.

Well, made it to Produce and back home pretty well.  Since it's just snow, I didn't have any trouble going over there.  Not really too much trouble coming back home, even though there were quite a few sets of footprints (30 people showed up for Produce), so it was a tad bit slippery.  But I had my boots on, so not really any problem for me.

After I got back home, I stood on the front porch, and took a picture w/my cell phone.  Will try posting it on here later.  (I have a different cell phone, so trying to figure out the ins/outs of operating it, and taking pictures w/it.  Current temp is around 31 degrees F., with just a little bit of a breeze.

I put on a pot of veg. beef soup, a pot of beef stew and baked some fresh cornbread, before leaving for Produce.  It is all on the serving station, so you all can get what you want, along with some other delectables on there also.

Everyone enjoy your afternoon, take care and see you all later.
