Walt, I does stand corrected. My apologies....

No corrections or apologies needed Tom!!

CW, I guess I'd like to have "My Usual" thick steak, baked potato w/sour cream, tossed salad, and since I can't get a beer in here, I'll opt for the Punch.

Well, it looks like birthday greetings are in order for the Mutt!  All the best!  I didn't even have cake this year.  Trying to quit, donchaknow...

If it wasn't so far, I would have brought down an engine.  I think we still have several members of for Forum Fire Brigade in the area.

Waiting for "brown" to bring the weather station for the fire station so I can work out how it'll get mounted on the radio mast.

Good Monday morning everyone.  And Walt, HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY!!Happy B-Day Happy B-Day Happy B-Day Happy B-Day  May your birthday be blessed with all the Love, Happiness and Peace you deserve.  At least you're going to have a beautiful day for your birthday, with a high temp of about 68 degrees, and plenty of sunshine!

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot tea are all fresh and ready to go.

On the serving station this morning:  the usual bagels and bear claws, turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausage.  And for our "birthday boy", there is a Cherry cupcake w/ONE candle on top, especially for you.  And that cherry cupcake has cherry icing and sprinkles on it.  (Don't forget, you still need to let me know what special meal you want today!!)

Everyone have a great morning, take care and I'll see you all later on.

Quentin, my cell phone finally set it's self to the correct time, seems I still need to get to the utility room and workbench and set that clock.(I'm not out there everyday.)

Tom, I am NOT "Over the Hill" yet, I'm still very much approaching the "Peak" of the hill.

(although even with 24 speeds on my bicycle, there are times that I think I'm there!)

Thank You very much for the B-Day wishes!!

There will be no candles on the cake this year; the fire dept. didn't want to pay that much overtime for the extra pumper that they said they would have to station close to the house.(and a Squirt no less!)

My phone is right, but half the clocks in the house haven't been changed over yet...

Decent day at the Syracuse train show - got the word out to a number of people and may even have recruited a couple of volunteers.

Not much on the shopping list this year, so I didn't spend my entire 'allowance.'  I was able to find a survey crew (Woodland Scenics) who assure me that they are railroad surveyors...

Plus I found a couple of utility vehicles (hi-rail, no less) for them to use.

And an ice cream truck (with excited kids!)

Did dinner afterwards with daughter and her family.  Grandson was rather excited by his new "Thomas" placemat.

Time to set the rest of the clocks and head for bed.

That's kind of surprising to me Paula....Thought all cell phones with a clock were automatically set.  Which, makes me curious....Did our's set to the EST.  I didn't pay any attention to it while having it in both vehicles today.  I'll go look.

Yes. it's correct....

Our day totalled out as a nice sunny Fall day....but, Oh how early darkness sets in on us now.  But it was light when we got up this morning.

Quentin, I had to manually set the clock on my cell phone this morning.  Not sure if Walt's cell reset automatically, or if he'll have to do it later.  I don't bother with his cell phone.  And he still has to reset the clock in the Utility Room.

Here is our Sunday Dinner menu:

1.  Canadian bacon, Hawaiian, Pepperoni/mushroom, Supreme, Cheese, Chicago style, Anchovie, Goetta and Italian sausage

2.  For anyone not wanting pizza, we have:  Italian spaghetti w/your choice of Italian bread or Garlic Texas toast, and garden salad

Desserts this afternoon/evening:  Chocolate brownies (plain) or chocolate brownies w/nuts and whatever flavor ice cream you want with the brownies.

A cool morning here in Muncie...but pretty blue skies, and of course bright sunshine.  Believe it was 32 when I looked earlier this morning.  Perhaps high in the 50's this afternoon.

Watching that massive + temp. bubble coming from the northwest spreading out widely and moving our way.  Noted temps as much as 30 + normal degrees up over the mid country's northern border.

And almost ice box conditions {relatively speaking}, down over the southeast......I won't put a name to it, but something is seemingly changing our weather patterns to swing in a more radical pattern.

Then of course, this coming week we're to have some of those benefits from the warm bubble headed our way.....60's to almost 70 in some areas I noted on our weather reports on Indy's TV stations last night.

Church.....then our favorite, Olive Garden....with friends / family still here {all season}, from Florida, but this coming week, it is their exit time to head back to Florida.

Couple of years ago, they purchased a house here for the Summer now, and later, to use permenately.

Noted earlier this weekend Tampa was cooler than some location in North Dakota one morning.

Trivia:  Noted our automatic clocks...{ and one wrist watch}, changed to EST sometime last night....First my watch, than later in the night sometime, the others....Didn't see what time that occured.

Of course still lots of electronic clocks...stove...microwave...bed side units....and cars, and so on to do manually.  And some Regulator manual ones.  But for right now...I note this computer clock is not correct...That's unusual.  Have to watch and see what that's all about.  It's 8 hrs. off....???  The minute  digit is right on....?

Good Sunday morning everyone.  I have to apologize for not making it back in here last evening and making the pizzas.  It just completely slipped my mind, until Walt came into the living room, and asked me if I was mad at everyone, because I had not posted the  pizza menu.  He's right:  I did say "Oops!"  Guess I'll have to add pizzas to our Sunday Dinner menu, to make up for it.  Right now, though, how about I take care of breakfast?

Coffee, juice, hot chocolate, hot tea and hot cider are ready to go.  On the serving station:  a nice selection of doughnuts and caramel pecan rolls, danish, bear claws, bagels, turkey bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy and scrambled eggs.

I hope everyone remembered to set your clocks back last night, before retiring for the night.  I took care of most of our clocks before I went up to bed.  Been awake since 4:15 this morning.  We have a temp of 31 degrees this morning, going for a high in the 50s this afternoon.

Everyone enjoy your breakfast, your morning, take care, and I'll see you all later on this afternoon.

Tom, I'm sorry that the Razorbacks did not leave their chitlins, fatback, rib meat, po'k chops, and other assorted parts in Columbia. If the Gamecocks journey to Fayetteville next year, perhaps they will come back home with plenty of meat to see them through the winter?

Watching the LSU Tigers stem the Tide made for an exciting afternoon.

I was glad to see the Volunteers win a game this evening. Their coach may feel a little safer.

Okay.  I'm warmed back up now.

Spent a good part of the day onboard a landing craft (140') with a bunch of firefighters & EMTs practicing and learning how to extricate victims from the bowels of the ship.  It was an interesting and informative day and all everyone involved enjoyed this unique experience.

But it could have been warmer.

The exercise did give us a chance for a nice cruise on the St. Lawrence River, though.

Tomorrow - the train show at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

......I will have to mark down some weather activity late yesterday afternoon.   Do so at my unoffical weather data here in home office.

To our surprise, late yesterday afternoon we watched several light sessions of sleet....Little tiny balls of sleet.

During some of this....for about a minute or two, I must say we had very light snow flakes.  So must put that down as the first of the season.

Now this late morning, as Jean and I headed in town {Center of Muncie about 5 mi east}, and we noted several cars with snow on their roofs.  Seems the closer we got to the center of town, the more snow was evident...Car roofs, still some in shaded areas, etc.....

Our's was just very few light snow flakes, but it was snow further east.

Today, it's mostly sunny.  Our low this morning about 8 was: 30 degrees.  Now, for this new week coming, we see a nice warm bubble all over the plains & west of us.....And we are to have that move in producing sunny skies, and temps as much as 65.

So, hopefully I'll finish up  a bit more outside prep. work for Winter during that nice stuff.....And that will be it.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  Joe, thanks again for fixing breakfast this morning.  I didn't set the alarm last night, and didn't wake up until right at 6:00.  Walt was already at the computer.

Mookie, I've always heard about making a grilled cheese sandwich with an iron, but have never done so myself.  For the best tasting grilled cheese sandwich, you need a small cast iron skillet, melt a little bit of butter, and put in your sandwich.  After it is as brown as you want it, and take it out of the skillet, it will melt in your mouth!

Our current temp this morning is right around 32 degrees (could be down to 31 now, or lower out in the suburbs).  Going for a high of right around 50 degrees about 4 p.m.  I did hear yesterday evening (around 5 p.m.), that over at Churchill Downs for the Breeder's Cup, they were getting sleet!

Everyone have a good morning, take care wherever you'll be going and doing today, and see you all this evening.

Hmm, when Ricki had her cataractsremoved (one at a time), she did not have any evidence of runnoing into a doorknob, as I recall. Was Driver not given a piece of beefsteak to reduce the swelling? I don't know how it will be if mine grow to the point that they need to be removed, since Ricki doesn't drive any more; we will have to work transportation out.

I may have mentioned my experience last January, when I had major surgery--my cataracts made some change in my vision such that I had to go back to an OLD pair of glasses before I could focus on anything across the room (back to bifocals from trifocals, as it was)--be careful what you throw away; you may need it later. We did take seven pair of Ricki's old (pre-cataract surgery) glasses with us when we went to see one of her eye doctors yesterday, and left them there.

We have had mild weather all this week, and we are told to expect a change Sunday--colder, with rain and possible snow.

Our maple in the back yard has at last really been losing chlorophyl from its leaves, and some have fallen. Once many have fallen, and are dry, I will grind them up with the lawn mower and alleviate some of the alkalinity in the soil. The linden is also losing its leaves, but they are few in number, when compared with those of the maple; the same can be said of the kitty-cat willows (which also provide us with firewood as the branches and trunks die).

Tom, may the Gamecocks spur the Razorbacks to death tomorrow. But still, look out for 4 DecemberSmile. Does any other conference have as many of its teams in the AP Top 25?
