Happy Valentines day to all out there, albeit I am a bit late in posting this. I started my 2nd week here in Wyoming this morning and it will be probably the end of the first week in March before I head for home.
My sister baked a couple cheery pies this morning, so we've got plenty of cheery pie to go around. I am leaving a large pie here on the counter for everyone to enjoy.
ooo ooo ooOOOoo
Evenin' everyone. Well, Walt has the first round of his spaghetti casserole on the serving station, and I have the Italian bread , garlic Texas toast and bread sticks on there, also. Along with the tossed salad, on the cool end of the serving station. And Walt is still in the kitchen, making another batch of the spaghetti casserole.
For dessert tonight, little heart shaped yellow cakes w/chocolate icing.
I hope everyone has enjoyed their Valentine's Day so far, and will continue to enjoy it this evening. I know Dining Car Jack will definitely be enjoying his, after picking up his bride of these several years, at the airport.
As far as the snow is concerned, we've had off and on flurries this afternoon; but with a high today of 34, nothing too bad outside yet. The kicker of it is to be starting later tonight, and by tomorrow night, they now say we could have 5 to 7 inches. A lot of the hardware stores around our area, have just about sold out of the ice melt, and are suggesting that some may have to use the water softener salt. It's a bigger salt, but will work to melt the snow: just takes a little bit longer is all.
We got to just above freezing today, but the wind was nasty. The light snow we got overnight blew around very nicely, including drifting onto the road in random spots, making the roads a bit unpredictable. One moment you're doing the speed limit on dry roads, the next you're into several inches of snow...
Someplace i have some heart-shaped egg rings. Haven't used them in ages....
A good trick when making pancakes for kids is to drizzle some batter in a smiley face, then pour the rest of the batter over it. Voila! Smiley-faced pancake!
Got the new computer set up at the fire station, and hooked the all-in-one to it so we have a printer there, too. All we need now is an Internet connection, and that's coming, too.

Nope...But thanks for asking!
Happy Valentines Day to all, especially to our keeper of the premises, Paula.
Mine will be happy as my wifre is returning from her trip to Paris this PM. I shall pick her up at the airport and take her to dinner and overnight at a nice hotel in Phoenix. Then home tomorrow where she will be surprised that the house is in fine condition.
Going to be in the 70's this PM in Phoenix and 60 here in Prescott.
Murray Good Morning All: Happy Valentine's Day to you and your significant other. Sunny and 55 here in Alamo City. Fixin' to be a really nice day here. Enjoy your Sunday!

Good (late) morning everyone. Joe, thanks to you and Matt for getting breakfast ready this morning. Those heart-shaped pancakes look and taste really good. I originially got up around 5 a.m., but was feeling under the weather, and decided to go back to bed. Feeling a little bit better now, though.
For our Sunday Dinner later on, Walt is making his spaghetti casserole. To go with it, I'm making a tossed salad and will bake some garlic Texas toast, and bread sticks.
And I hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day. Hope it's a very nice one for all you couples out there!
Everyone have a blessed afternoon, and see you all later.
.....A pleasant Valentine's Day to all....Our's is starting out pretty nice. High Cirrus clouds and sunshine above the horizon now. 10 degrees when I first looked but it is rising....Trees are motionless.
Hope the weather is comparatively as good down in Daytona today for the season kick off, the Daytona Nascar 500.
Danica's Nationwide race caught her in a massive accident yesterday, but she didn't seem too shook about it.....I believe she will open some eyes sometime in the season. Good race equipment, and she certainly has big time racing experience...just not much yet in Nascar racing.
After church, we'll head for a good meal for this Valentine's day....Jean's choice.

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Some of that Hawaiian will make a good bed-time snack.
Many years ago they were working on the road I normally used to go to work, so I was using a detour. I still kick myself for not stopping and taking a picture of the back-lit field with the rime-ice covered grasses.
Time for bed. The Dal insists.
Howdy and Happy Valentines day albeit a bit early. Alas, most of our snow has melted, but a hard freeze tonight will make driving dicey later. Last night's snow was the most since 1973, when we got the 22" in my back yard. Supposedly, we will be getting another helping Monday morning. We shall see. Everyone take care and be blessed.

Good late afternoon, early evening to everyone. It looks like things have been very slow in here today, so I've only baked two extra large of the following pizzas:
1. Cheese w/extra cheese
2. Goetta
3. Hawaiian
4. Pepperoni/mushroom
5. Supreme
6. Italian sausage and
7. Italian sausage calzones
Don't worry: I made enough and put in the freezer, just in case we get busy in here tonight. Just take take whichever kind you want, and pop it into the pizza oven by the counter.
Everyone have a good evening, keep warm, safe and take care.
afternoon
Grandma taught us how to play pinnochle and euchre at her house. She was quite the card player.matt and I went to give valentines to his cousins. We then saw q 393 stop at FC to wait for another train. So the conductor went down to KFC to get dinner. It doesn't happen as often as it used too.Cw thanks for supper.Matt and I are going to make some popcorn for movies tonight.

......And Larry, we have almost the exact conditions again this morning....Ice crystals again on all the trees, etc....and now the fog has lifted, and we have {again}, bright sunshine to make the scenes awesome, especially with the bright blue sky back of it all....
Today's difference, 14 degrees earlier compared to 7 yesterday....Warming a bit now, it one can call it that. But the wind is calm and it's not bad.
Item: Did anyone watch some of the opening of the Olympics last night in that expansive arena.....I tried to figure out how they made all the allusions created on the arena floor....Various colored light patterns....even made to look like breaking up ice and then moving water, etc.....Awesome. Couldn't tell if all those light patterns were coming from above or below....What a dramatic presentation.
Good Saturday morning, everyone. Waking up here in Louisville this morning, with a temp of 24 degrees and no snow of any kind falling from the sky. That will change later on, probably tomorrow. They are saying we could end up with 4 to 8 inches, but the weather person this morning, is saying that from the projections he looked at early this morning, we may only see 4 here in the metro area. But it could change, and by the time it ends sometime Tuesday, we could possibly see upwards to the 8 inches.
Coffee, juices, and hot beverages are fresh and ready to go. And on the serving station this morning: a 'big ole country breakfast': country fried steak, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, grits, toast, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, fried taters, and there's also some oatmeal for those who don't like grits.
I hope you all have a great day, getting whatever you need to get done accomplished. Take care of yourselves, enjoy the day, keep safe and take care.
P.S. Mookie: here's your coffee mug! Think I'll go get me a refill in my mug.
Quentin - you reminded me of the trip I made to for Christmas 2008. There had apparently been a minor ice event in the "Endless Mountains" area of PA in the previous few days and all of the trees had a coating thereof. With the sun being so far south, it was all backlit - hillside after hillside, as far as the eye could see. Wish I hadn't been driving.
Spokyone - Euchre - that's a game you don't hear a lot of - definitely a midwest thing. I haven't played in years. It was how my late father spent his lunchtimes at GMPG heavy equipment pretty much every day.
The "Milford Memories" event in MI has a euchre tourney each year - played while sitting on a block of ice. He (or she) who can withstand a frozen derriere the longest wins... The call it "cold butt euchre."
Mookie Lawrence O is very passionate and gets very excited at times. He's fun to watch.
Hope you can catch it.....Lawrence really got animated. He wasn't buying the opposition and wanted to tell why.....
switch7frgQuentin ; isn't that pretty when the sun shines on the frosen fog ice crystals when the wind blows a bit ? Last time I saw that was in Yorktown in 1958. Cannonball
Cannonball......It was like a Winter wonderland.....We live about 2 miles due north of Yorktown at the Westbrook {Now Elks} Country Club and our back yard connects to a fairway and all the trees across the fairway and everything around us were covered with the crystal like white coating....A real rare scene....I did take a few pic's but I haven't ever downloaded pic's from this {new}, camera yet, If I can accomplish it soon, I'll try to remember to send you a copy or two.....
Q - I missed that part. It wasn't very exciting up to that point, so I came upstairs and turned on the radio for talk radio. Lawrence O is very passionate and gets very excited at times. He's fun to watch. Will try the website and see if I can pick up on what I missed!

I.m getting ready for the Friday Night Euchre game. My team has won 4 straight weeks with two nights being a sweep! The losers say it is just luck!! Lots of snow here in Aledo.

Afternoon all.
Cool at 28* now. Fog was freezing this morning. I got the SLR out, and took some cool pictures. Might have them up later. I’m going tubing tomorrow at this place called Perfect North Slopes. I can’t wait!

good afternoon
went to bed early today.we have overtime tonight at work.Matt has some special Valentine hearts on the tables for everyone.Cw thanks for supper.
Johnny, the wind will definitely go right through you! And I'm not looking forward to the next few days, either: between tomorrow night and Sunday, they're predicting another 1 to 2 inches, along with another 1 to 2 inches Monday night thru Tuesday.
Our Friday Fish Fry is not on the serving station:
Fish: Cod, Perch, Halibut, Haddock, Shrimp, Salmon patties, Flounder, Tilapia
Side Dishes: Cole slaw, Corn on the cob, Mac & cheese, Baked Beans, Fries, Hush puppies, Breaded Fried Mushrooms
Desserts: All the regular cobblers, cakes and pies and there's still brownies left, too.
7 degrees here early this morning.....Now much better, in the teens. Fog was so thick to about 300' visibility. That froze on everything like a Winter wonderland. Then with the fog lifted blue skies and bright sunshine. No wind.
Jen......Joe had to quiet the discussion down this morning by going to commercial....Did you catch that....Between Lawrence and the speech writer.....
cherokee womanThe wind chill will be in the single digits.

SNOW!!! Not yet, but on the way. At present, 35 and overcast in Carolina. The weather guess is for up to three inches in this part of the state. Such a thing rarely happens here and the natives are freaking out. Me, I'm easy with the idea and am taking things as they come. Thanks for breakfat, and everyone take care
I'll be in the 'fridge. It's warmer in there than it is outside here(exactly zero0, and it's after 9 AM.
Think I'll warm up my bearclaw on the grille today.
