Y6bs evergreen in my mind
We had a total of 65 people at Produce this morning; not much on the truck, some apples, bananas romaine lettuce and red potatoes.
Here's our lunch/supper menu for today:
1. corned beef w/cabbage
2. ham & swiss cheese w/rye bread w/brown mustard (or you can put the ham and swiss on white or whole wheat bread), and there's regular mustard, mayo, or whatever you want on your sandwich.
3. Sweet & sour shrimp
4. Pepper steak w/onion
5. Chicken w/broccoli
6. Lo Mein
7. Moo goo gai pan
8. Pepper steak
And the fried rices: special (beef, chicken, pork, shrimp), chicken, and the individual beef, chicken and pork w/fried rice.
We have very cloudy skies w/a temp in the mid 30s at 1:34 p.m., w/spitting rain/snow. Nothing is sticking to the ground, though. Tomorrow, we may get maybe an inch or two accumulation.
Hope you all enjoy the meal selections. Have a good afternoon, be safe, warm and take care.
The last three days, our lows have been about 20 and our highs in the upper 30's. We have bright sunshone this morning, so I could not open the living room curtains fully until after Ricki had finished her breakfast. Come late spring, the sun will no longer shine in so. Yesterday, Peter Sink (I do not know just where it is; it may be south of Bear Lake) had a low of -34o F. I have no desire to Sink that low. I thought it was cold in the Uintahs, but the Sinks take the prize.
Tom, do you visit the Classic Trains Forum? There is an interesting post on the "Steam Engine Driving Wheel Center" thread, with a link to the ACL Class R-1 4-8-4's: http://home.earthlink.net/~steamloc/

switch7frgThe Robin with rusty red upper front feathers will still be here in a week or so diving for long earth worms in the grass. It is cool how they listen for them.
Jim, I've noticed that too of Robins.....They hop around thru the grass and suddenly stop, and tilt their head to the side to "listen" for worm movements. Don't know just what kind of noise a warm puts out, but it obviously it's something they can hear, and with great accuracy.
Today, we're overcast but very light now and 40 degrees....and the snow continues to melt and is making more grass come into view.....Yipy.....Spring is coming....{well not quite yet}, but soon we'll almost be able to see it.....
Quentin
Quentin; the weather has changed for the good today here in the mtns. Sun shining with 55deg. so far. A surprise snow hit yesterday in Preskitt. The Robin with rusty red upper front feathers will still be here in a week or so diving for long earth worms in the grass. It is cool how they listen for them. Canada geese will be in the flyway just east of us headed home soon. The geese don't take the train, too slow~~~ LOL
Jim
Corned beef OK. Cabbage not so much.
A nice ham and swiss on rye (seeded) with some brown mustard sounds pretty good, though.
I like my recliner. So does the Dal, especially if I'm in it. At least he settles in and I can see the TV over the top of him....
Have some "homework" for the ambulance squad (bylaw changes) and the meeting is tonight, so I better get busy putting the approved changes in place.

Joe - we have a recliner island here for the last 2 days. Have a sick little boy and no couch - just a comfy recliner. He seems better today, so hopefully school tomorrow. Think he will be thoroughly bored with Grandma by then!
Having corned beef and cabbage for supper tonite - anyone interested?

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. Well, it looks like they finally got through with maintenance last night. Tried to get in here, and nope, wasn't going to happen.
Coffee, juices, and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, or you can have biscuits & sausage gravy.
Guess things will be back to normal this morning, as far as our Tuesday Produce goes. The last time we had it was February 2nd.
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, have a good morning, and if anyone has any requests for lunch/supper/din-din, please let me know.
Mookie, here's your coffee mug!
Afternoon all.
School went well. Still raining. Oh well I’ll take this any day over snow. I’m ready for spring!
Have a good evening.

Cw thanks for supper.Matt is getting caught up on his homework from last friday.Next friday they have a teachers meeting. So if he keeps up the good work I can see a trip to the corn city(weather permitting).
The gas can jinx worked last night- we just got dusted, and in spite of the cold temps the sunshine this morning is making short work of that.

(Mookie, here's your coffee mug!) On the serving station this morning: turkey bacon, sausage (pork links & patties), scrambled eggs, toast, grape jelly, strawberry preserves. Peace be with you. 40 degrees and cloudy in Carolina, calling for rain later today. There is a lot of racket (static) on the wireless from somewhere. It could be from the approaching front, but it makes hearing anyone very difficult. I am looking for a particular station on Tahiti, and he is hard to hear under ideal conditions.
CW, thanks for breakfast, and have a great day

grampaw pettibone Good afternoon, and happy birthday, Quentin. BTW, maybe the robin would appreciate a few bread crumbs....
Good afternoon, and happy birthday, Quentin. BTW, maybe the robin would appreciate a few bread crumbs....
Yes, thanks to all for birthday wishes. And Tom, we've tried that before when we'd see early arrival of Robins...We'd put out bread crums on top of low shrubs in our back yard and were we could see them, and they seemed to not be interested in that food.....I really don't know what they eat, the ones that arrive while snow is on the ground....
We have been watching the squirrels trying to negotiate thru the snow out at the edge of the golf course and they would make a big hop and almost disappear down into the snow....The snow then was perhaps 6 or 7"....Fortunately the "warmer" weather has diminished that amount by quite a bit....
Quentin; indeed it is a bit early for Robin Red ***. Maybe he is going to aunt Pollys' mulch bin for some long " nightcrawlers" . The early bird gets the best worms. About next week they showup at Home Depot grass area on their way No. & east from Preskitt. We are getting the annual rain fall for the year this month , 8.0in so far. B'day greetin's to ya. We are so happy for Victoria Bensch . Her dog Blue kept her warm thru the night till the county mountys found them. Life is still good.
Respectfully, Cannonball
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Quentin!!
Hope it's been a great one, and has warmed up some; we got to 63 here this afternoon.
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Brian - they threatened us with dire snow - but it was a non-event. I think you can leave the gas in the gas can for now. Looked nice on radar, however....
, Quentin!
We've seen some melting action here today, but they're still forecasting 2-4" of new for us tonight- nothing happening yet. I went over to our local Casey's a little bit ago to get more gas for the snowblower- hopefully that will jinx it.
64 and overcast in Carolina, headed for some rain so they say. To the Kitchen, I hear a Klondike bar calling me. Take care
Good day so far. Raining and at 37*F now. Been watching the NASCAR race. Hope Jimmie Johnson wins!
Its now sunny with a good breeze and 76 here........
I have all the windows open in the house...
Afternoon, all. Here is Quentin's Birthday Dinner menu:
1. Roasted chicken w/real mashed potatoes w/butter, green beans and cole slaw.
2. Chicken abracadbra w/taters & onion, green beans and corn.
3. Country fried steak w/steak fries, made from scratch buttermilk biscuits w/milk gravy, green beans, corn, and cole slaw or tossed salad.

Quentin, along with Jean and Walt seeing robins, I saw one this morning, while I had the doggie Win-Win out in the back yard. Maybe, come March 20th, (first day of spring) we'll all be seeing spring-like temps and beautiful sunshine!
Quentin, enjoy your afternoon, along with everyone else having an enjoyable afternoon.
Thanks again to all for birthday wishes......Appreciated. Also appreciated, the 40 degrees we have now as it is raining and not snowing. And our "old" snow is disappearing fast....
Happy Birthday Quentin! If any winter weather heads your way, you can place all of the blame on Mookie, because I don't have anything to pass along. We haven't had even a flake of snow in Omaha today.
Willy
