Our day so far has been a bit cloudy, with periods of some sunshine and mod. temps for this time of year. No complaints on that.
Having lunch a while ago over at the restaurant {Burner's}, that faces the double track east / west CSX line, I did see one east bound....Surprising it had 3 power units up front and perhaps just 2 dozen {mostly}, tank cars in tow.

Good afternoon everyone. We had a good turnout at Produce this morning. We got potatoes, sweet potatoes, and grapes. They brought a couple of other items, but there were only 1 or two cases of stuffing mix and tortilla chips, so we took them inside to give out with the Dare to Care Box orders. The truck came right at 9:00 this morning, and I was back home by 9:45. Went to the library, and have been just about an hour. Got plenty of reading material for both Walt and myself, I think!
Making tonight a Mexican Fiesta Night. On the warmer bar:
1. Tacos (soft shell & crispy shell
2. Burritos (beef & beef, beef, and beef enchilada style
3. Fajitas
4. Spanish Rice
5. Sour cream chicken enchiladas
6. Quesadillas
7. Chicken mushroom quesadillas
I hope you all enjoy your meal, and I wish each and everyone of you a very good evening. Be safe, take care and I'll see you all later.
Ole'!
(Except those chicken mushroom quesadillas. You can keep them.)

You've got that right, Cannonball. We almost always have several who keep asking, "What time's the truck coming? We'll say "Anyway from 9:00 on; we never have an exact time that they'll be here." The latest the truck has ever shown up was right at noon; that was several years ago.
Good Wednesday morning, everyone. Nice 51 degrees this morning at 5:52, going for a high of 60 today. Should be a sunny day for all the Veterans Day celebrations, although it may be a bit on the breezy side, winds are to be gusting between 15 - 25 mph.
Coffee, orange juice, grape juice and orange/tangerine juice are freshly made, along with hot chocolate, milk, hot cider and hot water for hot tea are ready also.
On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs and homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.
Mookie, since it's not too chilly out this morning, how about meeting out in the garden and watch some trains going by this morning? We won't have too many days left to do that, before we have to pull our chairs up to the big window in here, to watch the trains as we sit and rock by the fire place.
Good morning from Carolina. Currently, rain and 64, which is already above the forecast 61. I am sitting here at the wireless just barely hearing a guy named Andreii in Western Siberia. He is not loud enough to try and talk to him yet, but the guys up north and Canada are hearing him well and making the most of it. Maybe later. Remember our veterans today and take care.

CW - I'm dragging my rocker behind me!
Driver went to work - as he has on every Veterans Day. He has always worked with young adults and they have no clue that he is the only veteran among them. Maybe someday someone will put it all together, but I am not holding my breath!
Joe - you would have to be very, very good to do flight of the bumblebee on any instrument, let alone a wind instrument.
Off to see the sunshine!

HAPPY VETERANS DAY!! Go hug a Vet.!
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
.....From one Vet to all others, enjoy our day. Here we do have a beautiful sunny mod. temp. day before us. And that is just great.
A good Vet. day to all....
54 degrees and sunny in the Big 'O' today, headed for a high of 62 degees. This is really a remarkable stretch of weather we've had after a cold and wet October.
Just as a sidenote, October 2009 was the 3rd coldest October on record for the United States. That's a sure sign of global warming.
I'm happy to report that I did much better on my second Calculus test than on my first. I no longer have to worry about failing the class!
Everyone have a good Veterans Day!

And a big tip of my retired Air Force blue hat to all my fellow Vets on this special day.
That you all for your service (and sacrifice) for our country.

Happy Veterans day all! I’m sending all the veterans, and there families a big BSA Thank you!
School has been really busy! Lots of homework every day. (Our Math teacher gives us an average of 30 problems a night.) Lots of other stuff going on too.
Still nice to drop in once in a while, and see everyone.
Have a nice evening.
Justin

Hey there, everyone. Sorry about not getting back in before now. After Mookie and I watched trains this morning, I've been busy around the house here, and fixing tonight's supper.
On the warmer bar, you'll find pork chop abracadbra, w/some of the green onions I got yesterday from Produce, along with mashed taters w/some cream of chicken soup (it's thick) to go over the mashed taters, and a medley of broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. Hope you all enjoy it.
Everyone have a very good evening, and to all our veterans here on the forums, I hope you've had a very nice VETERANS DAY. Thank you, one and all, for the service you have provided our country, and the current military force, for the service they are now providing. Bless you, all of you, and know that YOU ARE APPRECIATED, VERY, VERY MUCH!!
Evening everyone.....
Ah, Mudchicken, don't forget, I am one of those "dumb truckers" you mention, apologies (and donations) will be accepted......
Speaking of truckers, a reporter did a story over the weekend focusing on what truckers think of the four-wheelers, was interesting. I did not know it was possible for a woman to shave her legs while driving a car (Just when you thought you heard everything....)
Well, dinner, then bed, then wake up and do it over again.....

I have met both you and MC and trust me, you would not be one of those "dumb truckers". And MC "trucks" all the time - all across the country. Think you would both be "road gentlemen". So no apologies and I will intercept the donation for doing all this typing! (maybe something in chocolate?)

Congratulations, Willy!
Quick, if the second derivative of the equation that is expressing your position with respect to time is negative, what are you doing?
Johnny

The last time Ricki and I took a defensive driving class (I think one or two other people took the class so their insurance premium would be discounted; most of the people were there so they could have points taken off their driving record), the instructor spoke of what he saw once. I do not remember all the things that he saw a woman doing, but she must have really been short on time at home because, along with everything else, she was nursing her baby (that should be a bit easier than shaving her legs).

Well, the second derivative is the rate of change of velocity with respect to time, which is acceleration. If it is negative, that would be negative acceleration, or deceleration. Am I right?
Good Thursday morning, everyone. Decided to sleep in a bit this morning, so that's why I'm so late getting in here. We're starting out with a temp of 38, it has already gone down a degree from 39, when I awoke this morning. Going for a high of 61 again today, with less wind than yesterday.
But coffee, oj, oj/tangerine, apple and grape juices are ready, along with hot cider and hot water for hot tea.
On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, biscuits & gravy, and oatmeal & toast.
Let me know, please, if any of you have anything in particular you'd like to see on today's lunch/supper menu. Everyone have a good morning and take care.
Good Morning
a frosty start here in nw ohio.some areas have some fog too.Randy as all truckers are not bad us 4 wheelers aren't that bad either. It's the few that make it bad for both of us.Cw thanks for breakfast.going to get Matt from school this afternoon. His fundraiser items are in.Need to sort them out and deliver.Time for a nap.
Joe
A frosty start to the day here in NNY, too, but at least the skies are clear. The mid-Atlantic coast is taking a beating today. Haven't talked with son (MD), so don't know if they're seeing anything more than rain.
On drivers - my father was on patrol as a reserve police officer once when he stopped at a light behind a woman in a car. She turned the rearview mirror so she could check her makeup, then neglected to restore it to its 'rightful' position - even as Dad followed her all the way out of town. Not a ticketable offense, so he didn't pull her over.
And speaking of truckers - I think I got behind a "GPS trucker" today. They've been in the news a bit lately due to their propensity to use shorter routes as indicated by their GPS - routes that may not be well suited (low clearances, tight corners) to use by semi's. He was on a road not frequently used by such trucks, and had stopped at the side of the road before turning on to it. Just a guess, but considering the route he probably should have taken, and where he turned when he left said back road, I think I'm on the mark.
Willy, the second derivative is simply the square root of the third harmonic. Simple. Glad I could help.
46 degrees and rain in Carolina this morning. The furnace wouldn't start last night so had to use the heat pump, which didn't cut it. This morning, the furnace cut on as it should.Such is life!
Thanks for breakfast, and have a great day.

A+
The first and second derivatives of that equation are two of the few things I remember from my calculus course, besides that you must always add "C" when you are integrating.

That's as bad as relying on a tall hedge at a corner to tell you that the highway turns there, instead of looking for the flashing yellow light and the signs that indicate that there is a right angle bend in the highway. When the hedge is cut back, you start driving your Greyhound bus up an alley that is paved with cinders because your marker is gone.
I saw this happen, one evening, more than sixty years ago.
Now, if GPS could give you side and overhead clearances, it might be of value in avoiding the places that have impossible clearances.
What? No one has any meal suggestions today? I know Mookie hasn't been in, because she would have given me an idea or two. Guess you all are stuck with what I've come up with.
1. Spaghetti w/meat sauce, garlic bread, and garden salad
2. Tuna melt casserole w/mixed veggies and garden salad
3. Meat loaf w/shellie green beans, mashed taters & gravy, and garden salad and homemade made dinner rolls.

Too bad the exam wasn't that easy! My professor has an obsession with the natural log (lnx), which makes things difficult.
