Barry, she has done some large enough to use on a twin bed, those usually take a little longer than the baby blanket she's working on now.....
Other sister just called, guess we are going shopping for christmas presents later, as well as more stuff for the apartment. Hopefully will be able to get some more things moved into this apartment from my parents later as well.

Randy, hopefully, if everything goes well, I'll be able to give the blanket/afghan to my nephew and family when they come down from Cleveland for Thanksgiving!
Sunday Dinner Menu:
1. Walt's Italian spaghetti casserole w/garden salad, green beans, broccoli w/cheese sauce and your choice of garlic bread, Italian bread or garlic Texas toast
2. Medium chili w/beans, your choice of regular saltines or oyster crackers, or just plain, with no crackers, and grilled cheese or PJ&J sandwich.
Barry, FYI, the largest afghan I've made is one for Walt. It is 7ft, 3 in long, and almost wide enough for two people to be under it at the same time. The second largest afghan I've done was one for my mother-in-law, that was wide enough to almost go clear across our queen size bed.
Not sure what happened to our sun today, as it's still cloudy and overcast, but at least the temp is still going up. Guess we may see the 68 degrees today anyway.
afternoon

Good Monday morning, everyone. Nice and pleasant, with a temp in the low 50s, high today should be in the low to mid 60s, with a little bit of rain coming in later this evening. Had a nice evening. After Walt and Sarah got home from bike riding, ate supper, and watched The Santa Clause 111, the Escape Clause. It's a pretty good movie. Know it's been out for a couple of years, but this is the first time we've actually gotten to see it. That was our joint Christmas present from my sister-in-law, when she came down the other Saturday for Walt's birthday.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are ready to go. And on the warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, , oatmeal and toast.
Mudchicken, are you still shoveling out from all the snow? Everyone take care, and have a good morning/day.
Good morning from Carolina. 46 degrees this Monday morning. I haven't looked outside, but it looks like it's probably cloudy. Lots of noise from the A line this morning, so it might be a good day to watch trains. CW, thanks for breakfast, I would help you clean up if I was there. Tell Mutt I said to tighten up every chance he gets.... Everybody take care

.....A new week starts with mild temps.....and very light rain here this morning. Maybe several days a chance of some rain, but as the week upfolds, we're to warm up a bit. 60 by weeks end.
Jean and I have been getting ready for Sears' truck in about a half hour. The delivery of a new stainless steel stove will complete our change over to all appliances to stainless.
If the new one doesn't fit {without some minor mods.}, guess that will be an excuse to eat out for lunch today....

20 degrees in Prescott, AZ this AM with bright sunshine and a high of 55-60 predicted. Those who think AZ is all hot desert should visit the northern mountains.
Thanks for breakfast Paula, I'll have extra hot chocolate on mornings like this.
diningcarThose who think AZ is all hot desert should visit the northern mountains.
I certainly understand that....with Flagstaff at roughly 7000' elev.
I worked around Kingman on a project many years ago and the mountain peak just east of there....I saw plenty of snow {in December}, at several feet up at about 6500 elev. Up on the Hualapal Peak. There was a lodge up at the 6500' level, and I know they got planty of snow.
Indeed. Even Sierra Vista (SE of Tucson) is cooler than central AZ, by about 10 degrees.
A shock I got some years ago was arriving in San Francisco, which I had previously equated with sunny southern California, and freezing my tail off in the 50-ish temps. Fortunately we were just passing through, because headed for Hawaii, we didn't have the clothes for that kind of weather.
Nice and sunny again in the wilds of NNY. Fall is hanging on as long as it can!

We forgot that Mark Twain had said "the coldest winter I ever spent was July in San Francisco," and we were amazed by how cold the city was on the 15th and 16th of July, in 1972. After arriving in the afternoon, and checking in at our hotel, we went to Fisherman's Wharf, and found it quite cold. The next morning, we went down to San Jose (by train, of course) right after church, and warmed up there. We left for Denver Monday morning, and the weather there was comfortable. I had been in the San Francisco the previous October, and was dressed for the weather then.

Rather quiet it is tonight. Where is the crowd? Some of my farcebook friends are watching Donnie Osmond rattling his bones on the dance floor, so mebbe that's it. I have had a most enjoyable day on the wireless and am quite happy. It got up to 74 here today with partly clear skies and was very pleasant. Paula, thanks for supper. Can I get a takeout if anything is left. Everybody take care.
Good Tuesday morning, everyone. I hope everyone had a good evening. We have a current temp this morning of 51 degrees, with a little bit of rain. It's been off and on, since about 5:30, 6:00 last evening. High today is supposed to get to about 56 degrees, so temp's aren't going too far today.
Coffee, oj/oj/tangerine, apple, grape and pineapple juices are freshly made, and ready to everyone. And on the warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns and homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy. And if anyone is "watching their weight" before the big Turkey Day, there's oatmeal and toast.
I will apologize for not making it back in here yesterday, after I opened up yesterday morning. Was very busy working on the baby blanket afghan, which I had to unravel again, for the 4th time. So, just let me know what you all want to have and when I get back from Tuesday Produce, I'll get it fixed. Everyone have a good morning, stay warm and dry, and take care.
Good Tuesday morning from Carolina. 46 degrees and clear this morning, with a projected high of 70. Looks to be a nice day. Paula, could you fix some red spicy fish stew over rice for supper? My father could make some fantastic stew and I have a taste for some again. Thanks. Everybody have a great day.
Morning
Matt is on time and on the bus. Another gray day here in nw ohio. The OHSAA says that the football game can stay at defiance.well time for a nap and then chores when matt gets home.Cw thanks for breakfast.
Got up a little later than I usually do--gonna be a slow day for this one--it's all sunny today here--right now we're at 3C.
CW--thanks for the breakfast---have a good one--
Gray day here and 44 degrees for our Tuesday morning. Not bad....Still looking at green grass and not Winter's snow as some have been doing. Wonder if this might be the way Winter's shaping up, due to the warm / cold ocean currents.....Nasty out west.....almost normal here and so on....
Here our normal snow fall for a season is 27"....and we've averaged just a bit lower than that these past 5 years. Actually, 23.4" with my measuring right here at our location....{unofficially of course}.
Good afternoon all. I think we're in a period of no-rain. It was supposed to go until early to mid afternoon, so maybe it has gone out of here altogether. Haven't looked at our rain gauge yet to see how much it has in it.
We had close to 60 people show up for Produce this morning. The truck arrived at 9:15, and they brought us zuchinni squash, carrots, onions, potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Tom, your fish stew over rice will be ready at 6 p.m. tonight.
Also, today will be Chinese Food Day. On the menu:
1. Moo Goo Gai Pan combo; 2. Kung Po chicken; 3. Seafood combo; 4. Pepper steak; 5. Boneless spare ribs; 6. Mixed vegetable plate; 6. Beef Lo Mein; 7. Roast pork egg foo young; 8. House special fried rice, chicken fried rice and beef fried rice.
Everyone have a good afternoon, stay warm and dry, and take care.
CW thanks for supper.Time to get things around for work.Tomorrow night is our companies annual United way drive. So just save some leftovers in the fridge.
Hmmm - not usually one for Chinese, but the menu sounds inviting...
Got an email from the trainmaster - they've added a train on Saturday morning (21st). Gonna make a long day (with documented rest in the interim) by the time the 7 pm Polar Express ties up for the evening...
Just means I need to get a few things done Friday night that I would have done on Saturday morning...
Hello
Got a whole bunch of puttering done around the house---and that was about it---went out with a friend and did some touring around getting some groceries and such----came home---and--that is it---
CW--looks like a marvelous menu---gonna have to think about this---
How's it been witchoo?
Good Wednesday morning, everyone. Current temp is about the same as yesterday morning, around 51 degrees. Still have a chance of some scattered showers for the day, possibly some will be 'moderately heavy'.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are ready to go, and on the warmer bar, you'll find the usual breakfast fare.
If any of you want something different on the menu for this afternoon, tonight, just let me know, and I'll take care of it. You all have a good morning, stay warm and take care.
Looks like another fine fall day here in the woods of NNY. Might as well enjoy them while we can - let's do a "picnic" today for lunch. All the usual picnic fixin's, of course!
Besides - it's "hump day" - the week is half over. Although every day at work is hump day for Carl...
Good Morning
Audrey is out and doing her walk--and I'm getting her Birthday stuff put together---heeheehee
My job is all over the map schedule wise so I just gave up on Wednesday being a hump day. Mine end up in the middle whenever
CW---I love it when there are "moderately heavy" showers---turns into an all day rain here---
Good morning and thanks for breakfast. At present, 55 degrees and partly clear at the jetport, with showers or bath possible later..... If all goes well, and the wife will go with me, today will be another sortie to the grocery store to lay in some supplies, but hopefully no more asparagus! Yall all take care and stay safe
Our central Indiana day is progressing with overcast skies, and mod. temps.....Mid 40's. Had a bit of light rain overnight, but nothing right now.
Waiting for Sears "installer" to arrive and complete new stove project and hopefully that completes a couple of years of renewing everything.
tree68let's do a "picnic" today for lunch. All the usual picnic fixin's, of course!
Larry, I like your idea!! Walt has the grills going, and he's grilling steaks, pork chops, chicken, potatoes, corn on the cob, and beef sirloin roast. I've been in the kitchen, cooking baked beans, green beans, broccoli w/cheese sauce, brussels sprouts w/butter sauce, and making fruit salad, mac & cheese, potato salad and cole slaw.
I can see Walt coming in the diner/cafe's back door, with a tray loaded with the round round of grilling from the grill, headed to the warmer bar with it. So, come on in and fill your plates.
