Chris,
Still have that issue, framed.
It was voted one of the Best cover Shots by a Geographic readers poll.

Remember the National Geographic cover image back in the 80's of the young Afghan refugee girl? They were finally able to find her again a couple years ago (it was and probably still is one of the most discussed covers in the magazines history). They were able to identify her by her irises (which, admittedly, are almost as colorful as yours). There's a little write-up on the story here: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/03/0311_020312_sharbat.html Meanwhile, in other news, we actually saw a couple raindrops last night. Seems the monsoonal weather pattern is firing up some afternoon storms. Could happen again today, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Anyways, I had better get to work. Hope you all have a great day! TTFN!

Hanging out under a Blue Moon again, MC? Perhaps putting a Fat Tire on your bicycle? Or maybe just headed over to the Railyard?
Be wary...it's all part of Hickenlooper's plan to take over Denver, Colorado and maybe the world if he has time!

Mornin' All
I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Duchess is about the same as far as the nacked eye can see. She is still up and somewhat active and is taking her pills and eating the special dog food. We have an appointment for 11 am tomorrow morning and I hope the vet can find some impovement in her blood. I can't see any improvement but I don't see any worsening either, so as long as she can eat and take her pills there is hope. The vet claims the liver is an amazing organ and can regenerate itself so we are hoping it is not too late to do so. She was born in June of 2002 so she is 4 people years old. Dobermans have lived to be about 18 years old but the norm is anywhere from 10 to 12 or so. Sasha was 10 years and 4 months when she was put to sleep with lung cancer. I am hoping that Duchess can make it through this and live out a nice good life.
I have to work today but this is a short week considering I have only worked the last 3 days and now get 2 days off. Opps, forgot, I just accepted an overtime call for Tuesday 3rd shift. But with the extra vet expenses I can use the extra money.
It is going to be a hot one today. It sure was yesterday too.
Best Wishes to All.
Everyone Take Care

Morning All,
Well, I have some descriptions up on the weekend adventures now. Will try to get a post together with a little more detailed trip report in here either on lunch or tonight.
Sarah, hope you have a safe trip back to PA.
Well, I guess I had better get to work. Hope you all have a great day!

Ah, I get it!

All tasseled out now, typically around eight feet tall. Chatted with a farmer friend at church yesterday, he said the crop around here is looking pretty good this year. We've been getting the rain just in time. I've been less than impressed with the quality of the sweet corn we've bought, though.

You know - if I stand on my all my tippy toes, it makes me much taller.......
^~^ ?
Been a busy weekend. Hope Duchess is doing better. This is tough. All animals have a special place with pseudo-Mookie.
Today's lunch should be a variety of fresh veggies - from the veggie stand outside, along with sliced melon and grilled cousin. Crackers and croissants on side. Mmmmm - nice on a hot day.
Then.....a nap.
Sarah
