Finally, a real vacation! Five days off! Of course there's the chemistry homework to do and the English questions to answer and the Theology paper to write, but it is still a vacation!
CW - The Pre-Thanksgiving food is really great. I'm looking forward to more of it on Thanksgiving!!

Orange & Spice tea and a bearclaw SVP.
Half a day at work, then on the road for the shores of Chesapeake Bay. Son & DIL living in SE MD now, daughter and SIL will be in the area at his brother's, so we'll all get together down there on Friday.
Unfortunately, you "can't get there from here" by rail, so taking the train's out, except for any watching I can pull off on the way. Just missed one this morning (heard the defect detector, but was still a ways from the crossing).
In case I can't get on over the weekend - Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, drive safe, and eat too much turkey...

The trials & tribulations of the weeks are gone . I try to count my blessings , and there are many.
All the turkeys ain't in the meat case. There are quite a few on the road . In spite of them we made it home 20 this after noon . We have all our grown youngin's here for the big event , with their young.
So we are very fortunate indeed . We wish all the Diner folks a good Thanksgiving .

Glad to hear that you made it through the crowd of "turkeys" today. First time in many years that we are hosting T-day. If I had to drive this weekend, especially on our frequent run south through Chicago and I-65 from Gary to Indy, I would probably want to get something from Ace Rent-A-Tank.
I know the trucks gotta go, but I get a little peeved at the rig going 65 to pass another going 64-especially when I can get 75-80 without too much of a chance getting stopped. Ah, life is soooo tough... right?
Enjoy the day.
Good morning everyone, Happy Thanksgiving!! I am getting ready to bake the traditional cinnamon bread for my family's annual Thanksgiving dinner which will be around 4:00 this afternoon. Anyone who would like a loaf of my bread for their Thanksgiving dinner is welcome to come knocking on my front door, and I would welcome the company from any other members of this forum. You would be able to smell my bread even before you enter the front door of my house.
It got up to about 59 degrees here yesterday, which made it very comfortable to work for this Salvation Army bell ringer, and the weather conditions here for today are supposed to be much the same. And I will not have to work today.
For those of you who are traveling to be with family, be sure to wear your seat belts and stay safe! And as Sarah said in another thread, keep your eyes open for potential Darwin Award winners!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone has a blessed, super Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving day everyone.......
We've got nothing on your stores, Modelcar, the local outlet mall is opening at MIDNIGHT(!!!!!!) for shoppers, and the K-marts are open today!!
Made it safely to Burlington last night, got to see the roadwork they finished, now most of the streets in town are two-way, after being one-way for atl least 26 years. Need to get the traffic light working downtown, though.
Jay and Cannonball, after seeing the way some people drive, I'm ready to install a full rollcage and five-point harnesses in my truck.
Should be in at various times this weekend, I got "volunteered" to help plow, mudding it in would be a better term, field is a bit wet yet.
Happy thanksgiving day, everyone.

jeaton ;
You are so right on that count . Here in northern Az. there are 6 pct. grades and trks. over 23.000lbs. are supposed to stay in rt. lane. ( the sign says so ) only if ya' dont' get caught . Sunset Point is the end of restriction. Yet the big riggers run at the blazing speed of 32-34 mph . One tries to pass at 1\2 mph , sure makes for some terse words on the radiola . not to mention the traffic behind all this . Ahhh the turkeys & cartoons abound on I 17 at Rock Springs . Catch ya' on da' flip side . Respectfully , Cannonball
PS hope you and yours had a great day .
