Dear favorite prognosticator of weather's wily ways:

What's Thanksgiving look like weather-wise for our fair state?  Are we having snow or nosnow?  (hopefully you will have your up-to-date 2006/2007 crystal ball that all our weather people use!)

And - how's Mom?

Mookie

Pardon my interruption of the chowdah debate, but I've been working at my crystal ball and this is what I've come up with.

First, I'll start off by saying that we are going to move into a rather warm weather pattern late this weekend and by next Wednesday or Thursday I would not be surprised to see highs again reaching the lower 70s. This pattern may last for a week or possibly even two weeks. I mention this warm period because usually this time of year after a warm spell, a big chunk of cold canadian air dives south and cools things down. It wouldn't surprise me if this happens maybe a week or so before Thanksgiving and then sticks around through Thanksgiving.

As for snow... I expect our first one inch or greater snowfall to occur by the end of November, but after November 20th, possibly just before Thanksgiving. Another possibility would be that it happens after Thanksgiving as our airmass translates back to warm temperatures from the cold temps I expect for Thanksgiving. It would be a snow changing to rain situation. Basically, the entire snowfall forecast for November hinges on whether or not and when my cold airmass materializes. One thing that could throw off my forecast for no snow until after November 20th would be if we get snow with the arrival of the cold airmass I'm expecting.  Otherwise Mookie, check your email for my entire winter forecast.

Thank goodness there's only one day until the end of the week. I'm exhausted after this week because it is like the first full week of school we've had for a month.

Wow!  Our own resident stick-your-neck-out weather forecaster.  I can't get registered meteorologists to do much more than 24 hours.  Then they act like they are giving away family secrets!

Well, going to print off the forecast and give it to The Driver.  He will be pleased!

Thanx Willy

They'll never learn. My favorite is still the time I came around a bend running track speed (40) and found a pickup with a cap and an extension ladder. The ladder was obstructing the track on my side. When we hit the cap and ladder spun off that truck like a boomerang...

OOPS!

We got stopped in about a half mile because we had a short train 3 units and 44 cars of which 26 were loaded propane and butane. Of course, we stayed on the rail...

Hee Hee!  Way to go Willy!

You faint of heart from the warmer climes - we are working on becoming the Florida of the True Midwest during the winter.  We already are warmer than we were back when Hector was a pup (and our next door neighbor) and we have less snow every year.  Pretty soon people will flock to Omaha and Lincoln to shop and then go to Valentine to play in our big sand box!

Imagine - sun and sand in Nebraska and then wander over to Colorado to go skiing.  Don't forget to stop and cut the asparagus!

Good morning, everyone. Since Cherokee Woman is not in here yet, I'll take charge of serving breakfast this morning. I've already made a fresh batch of orange juice and I've got the coffee brewing. Breakfast this morning will consist of; oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown potatoes, buttermilk pancakes, french toast and cinnamon rolls - fresh out of the oven!Chef [C=:-)]Dinner [dinner] Breakfast Is Served!!!!

It's cold here in my home town, I've been up for barely an hour and we have a temperature of only 14 degrees. I'll bet it's colder than that in other parts of the country. Although it is supposed to warm up here to about 47 degrees later this afternoon.

Joe isn't in yet, either.  Are they having a party somewhere else?  Or frozen in time?

Lou-a-ville won their football game last nite (I think I got that straight) so Mutt and CW might be sleeping in.  Joe is possibly "frozen" in time.  Hurry Joe!  Need mah chair shoved in!

Good morning, everyone!  Ray, thanks for making the coffee and juice, and fixing
breakfast this morning.  I've been up and "awake" for 1/2 hour, and it's nice to
have someone else in the kitchen this morning.  Ole Arthur is acting up again this
morning, and I'm having to retype almost every other word, because my fingers
aren't wanting to work with me this morning.

Mookie, I'll move your chair in for you.  Here I come!!  Didn't watch the game, but I
had a feeling the Cards would win.

We have a current temp of 29 here in Louisville, and supposed to get up to 49 today.
Looked out the kitchen window, and it looks like we got a heavy frost last night.

Noticed on one of the other threads that Mark is back!!  I tried to read his article, but
couldn't, because of the "Google Ads" straight down the middle of it!! Sad [:(]Angry [:(!]

Guess that's about all I have to say this morning, so guess I'll go check out some of
the other places around here this morning.

Morning All,

Happy Friday! (And there was much rejoicing.) For some reason this week has dragged by. I think it is the beginning of the very long days that always seem to appear before a long trip. I leave to go back home on the 15th. Alas! this means that next week will be even longer, and the remaining couple days of the following week worse yet. Oh well, as Calvin's dad would say, "Waiting for a trip builds character."

Anyways, I have a pile of bids on my desk to type up, so I must be on my way. Hope you all have a great day!

Well, it's just about lunch time, so thought I'd better post
a menu for all you good folks.

Today's menu specials include:

1.  our regular FRIDAY FISH FRY, including all the sides
2.  roast, taters, carrots w/gravy & sides
3.  meat loaf w/mashed taters, gravy, & sides.

I hope everyone enjoys their meal, and for those of you
who may leave work early today, have a safe and careful
weekend.  (And if you wish to fill a couple of carryout
containers for your supper tonight, please feel free to
do so.

Anyone in here???

Wow, quiet day in here, well, I guess I'll have some fish....... After I make more, seems a certain feline made off with all of it. I can tell by the pawprints all over the floor between the door and the counter.....

Was a quiet day here as well, started off with a low of 16, got up to 38. Went and had my eyes checked today and decided to get a new pair of glasses for good, I did not know that Caterpillar now has a line of glasses for men. The frames were pretty cool, so I went with a pair of them. Should have them in a week or so, just in time for the Gallagher show at the Barrymore. I should have some pics, convincing my sister to bring her digital camera and docking station, will play with getting photos posted then.

More fish is ready for those who want it, see everyone later.....

Good Saturday morning, everyone!  Oops, doesn't look like
anyone's in here, right now, except me.  Oh well.  I'll
just get the food fixed, and put it on the warmer bar.

Joe, thanks so much for getting the coffee on, making juice,
and hot chocolate for this very cool morning.

On the breakfast bar, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage
patties & links, homemade biscuits & sausage gravy; fried
taters and hash browns, oatmeal, grits and toast.

Went out with Sarah yesterday, and we were driving by Church-
hill Downs.  Cars everywhere, for the Breeders Cup.  Could
not see an empty place in the parking lot, and there was a
string of parked cars right on the street, outside the track.
Don't think any of us will go in that direction today, unless
we want to be in a traffic jam.

Everyone have a great day, and make it safely back to us
about 7 p.m. tonight for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest.

Well, I was in the Diner earlier this morning, but at 5:30 I decided to crawl back into my warm bed and try to get some more sleep. It was almost 8:00 when I finally got up here.

Joe, thanks for getting the coffee brewing and making the hot chocolate. I think I'll stop in at the Diner this morning and grab me a cup of hot chocolate before I head for my part time job later this morning. It's only 26 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but it's supposed to warm up to about 55 degrees here later this afternoon.

I am getting ready to make a pot of home made chicken noodle soup here, and I will let it simmer in my crock pot while I am at work this afternoon, and I might be baking bread when I get home later this afternoon.Chef [C=:-)] I make a pretty good whole wheat, using stone-ground flour.Chef [C=:-)]

Good morning, but this cold I'm having is running me down like a dead battery. Dead [xx(]

Can I have a smaller Supreme pizza just for myself tonight so I don't infect others here?

By the way, I know it's been a crazy week in Louisville. Between the Louisville-West Virginia college football game (hey, Papa John's Cardinal Stadium is literally on the other side of the north-south CSX tracks from Churchill Downs!) and the Breeder's Cup today.

Hope your day is better than mine! Smile [:)]

Nice day here, albeit a tad cool.  Looks like snow just to the south of me, which wouldn't concern me, but about now the daughter-in-law is probably driving through it on her way from MD to retrieve her pups.  I'll be down to one again tomorrow morning, although I will kind of miss the little duffers, including the one camped out in my lap right now....

Pizza sounds good, but DIL wants to treat me to dinner so we'll be headed up to the river.

Hmmm.  Dinner (roast beef) was good, but that Hawaiian is good cold too, and we didn't have dessert.  Apple pizza?  What a concept!

Our Church had an all you can eat Spaghetti dinner tonight. I must admit, I ate WAY to much. But it was good.

Everyone have a great Sunday!!!!
