Well, it's lunchtime, so guess I'd better post the lunch menu for today.

1.  chili or beef vegetable soup w/grilled cheese sandwiches

2.  open faced roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters &beef gravy

3.  BLTs w/fries & cole slaw

Below are some of the pics Mutt and I took yesterday morning over at the tracks. They are

in the order in which Mutt described them in a previous post.

Hope everyone likes them.

Nice pic's Walt.

Nice pic's Walt.

ADIK has a Gradall similarly configured.  Most of the summer it had the mother of all weedwackers mounted on it.  It'll take down small trees.....

Let me put in my kudos as well.

Yes, Joe, there are BLTs and fries for supper, and there is also plenty of chili left, along with
more open-faced roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters and beef gravy for supper tonight.

And speaking of extra extra work tonight, I'd like two or three helpers to decorate the DD/CS
with birthday decorations, please.

Very nice pics, CW!

Today was a top ten day of the year in my books with a high in the lower 70s, mostly sunny skies and light winds. We will make a run at 80 degrees tomorrow before things start cooling off. Still no snow in the forecast, so my November outlook is holding true for now.

This week is a short one with Friday off so it'll be one of the super weeks when Thursday is my Friday. I think I'll try and do some hard core train watching on Friday.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

I do want some snow. Send it this way, if you can!

One of our local meteorologists has kind of a different winter forecast. He is forecasting only 1.5 inches of snow in December, 3 inches in January, 7 inches in February and 11 inches in March. Personally, I think it is ridiculous to try to forecast how much snow is going to fall in each month because just one strong storm system and a bit of cold air could dump a foot of snow in a month when not much was forecast and vice-versa.

Great Pics CW and Mutt, I really like some of the shots with the dust in the background, it looks as if the human and the train are emerging (sp) from the dust.

Ok what is this I'm hearing about snow?? Willy I was wondering when you get your snow can you send some down to Louisville, KY please, oh and while your at it you might as well send some up to PA. I have to find a good place around here in Louisville to do some snowboarding, if not it'll have to wait until I get back up to the mountains in PA.

Well, I'm not doing to much now just sitting here typing and watching a program on Mount Saint Helens (sp). COOL or should I say HOTT STUFF!! Big Smile [:D]

Sarah - As soon as I get some snow, I will send it your way.

Well, it looks like I'm the first one here in the Diner this morning, so I reckon I'll take charge of serving breakfast this morning. I've made a fresh batch of orange juice, the coffee is brewing and I've got the hot chocolate ready.

Breakfast this morning will consist of oatmeal, ham & cheese omlets, bacon, sausage, buttermilk pancakes, belgian waffles, chocolate & banana nut muffins, and cinnamon rolls........better grab one while they are still warm and fresh from the oven!Chef [C=:-)]

Well, I'm glad I'm not hearing things, Ray:  I was in the back, in the stockroom, and thought
I heard someone banging pots and pans.  I was back there, looking for the birthday deco-
rations to put up this morning.  I know of one birthday we have here today, and I need some help putting up the birthday decorations.

Hope your birthday is everything you want it be, Mutt.  Now, after breakfast is over with,
I guess I'd better get started on the Angel food cake for your birthday dinner tonight.

I know what you want for supper, but could you let me know what you want for your birthday
lunch?!?!?!

Skid......Slid....Pant........I made it!  Happy Birthday to a special Mutt!  I made you a gift - it is buried out in the garden.  When breftist is over we will go dig it up together!  It may still be warm!!!!!!

NO NO NO - it isn't that - it is gray and with fur and it now lays very, very still.......Big Smile [:D]

And in honor of your special day - 80 degrees here in our fair town.  And they must have run everything they could find out of the yard last nite.  The weather was just right - and I heard them all - even Amtrak was heading west almost on time!

We are 17 blocks due east and I could hear the bell ringing as the engine approached a crossing - actually I think I heard one of the crew sneeze.....Wink [;)]

So Happy, Happy and I am going to frolic in the sunshine just for you!

Okay, I've got the pork chop abracadbra in the Crock Pot,
and will be starting to mix up the cake in a bit.  But,
there's been a change in the cake for Mutt's birthday:  it
will be a yellow cake w/Party Rainbow Chips, instead of an
Angel Food cake.  And yes, Joe, I'll save the mixing bowl,
with spoon in it, for Matt to lick.

Lunch today:

tuna salad sandwiches w/your choice of fries or tater chips,
BLTs w/turkey bacon, and garden salad.

Thanks to those of you who helped with the decorations!
The DD/CS looks very festive!!
