Congrats and best wishes on your relocation.  Have you caught on to the "s" in Louisville taking the "l" sound?

Okay, everyone, the next pot of chicken & dumplings is now ready for supper.

We have the same desserts that were available for Sunday Dinner, along with
some homemade chocolate chip cookies, with nuts in them, and some M&M
cookies, also.

Hope everyone enjoys their supper, and their dessert.

CW - I am exactly the same when it comes to pumpkin. I really don't like pumpkin pie or anything else with pumpkin in it, except for pumpkin cake.

Today was a very nice day. The high temperature was 75 degrees and tomorrow is looking pretty nice again.

Well, off to bed. I hope everyone has a good week!

Joe,Actually her move reminded me of Johnny Cash's song "One Piece At A Time",we sort of
got to know our UPS driver fairly well.....final trip was just her and the Jeep.(Uh, not via UPS Blush [:I])

Quentin, she said that it was a semi-rough trip with that short wheelbase and the  6" lift. At least
she had a 'taste' of it when she drove down last year.

Jay,she's had the pronunciation for Louisville down for a lonnnnng time.

Good Monday morning to one and all!  Looks like we're going to have a great day,
before the bottom starts falling out tomorrow.  Willy, we're to match your high for
yesterday today:  75 degrees today.  Then, rain comes in tomorrow, and the temps
start dropping.

Sure hope everyone had a terrific weekend.

Coffee is on, juice is made, have hot water for tea and hot cocoa.

Breakfast is on the warmer bar:  bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, hash browns,
and the following muffins:  blueberry, oatbran, and strawberry.

Cherokee woman, your avatar reminds me of the cover of a book that I read several years ago.  If I may ask, what is the origin of your avatar?

Oh, and as long as I'm here, how about a blueberry muffin, please?

Datafever, I'm just a country girl, and have always loved to read about pioneer days,
the old west and the steam locomotives.  That avatar reminds of the Old West:  I
guess that's why I chose that particular avatar.

And here's you a couple of blueberry muffins for your breakfast.

You chose it?  From where?  Do you remember?

Thanks for the muffins.  I'll have a glass of cold orange juice too, please.

cof...hack....cof....   <~>  Blah!

And I am actually getting better!  Icky!

79 here yesterday - Halloween will be dry, but very cool!  (44 with 20 mph nw winds)

Landlord cut down a whole sworpe of trees on our "wooded" lot.  He cut down almost all the volunteers and some were hollow!  A big wind would have done them and us in.  He wants to do a landscape next spring and nothing will grow if too many trees.  Squirrels are puzzled, tho!  Took one nest out - so hope they rebuild before winter!

Looks like some good firewood out there this morning.  Nice big tree trunks - but.....no fireplace!

Have someone interested in next door.  We shall see.

Did a little train watching this weekend, but mostly just stayed home.  Kept coughing and napping.  Flu shot hopefully this week or next.

Looks nice in garden - will push my coffee cup out there and lay in the sun and snooze.  Right in the middle of the walkway should be just about right!

Yawn....

Morning All,

Just got an e-mail update from www.drgw.ws that had an interesting little note in it. It would seem that one of the MRL F45's managed to wander into my neighborhood over the weekend. Alas! I didn't find out about it until this morning when I checked my e-mail. I gotta start getting out railfanning more often.

Meanwhile, all of our snow has disappeared...at least until tonight (or so the weatherman says). Guess there's supposed to be some tonight into tomorrow morning. Should be stopped for the kiddies to go Trick-or-Treating (but I'm guessing that they're all going to be dressed up as winter coats based on temperature predictions).

Meanwhile, I must be on my way. Hope you all have a great day!

....To be a nice day here in Muncie....so it's some outside work including mowing and a few other things.

Walt...on that trip across from Pennsylvania:  The route we travel is so much better now than when I first started doing it....First trip across that disance was 49 years ago...

We had a test station in Jennerstown, Pa. and had to come out to the main plant {here},  several times a year to modify our test equipment, etc...and set up new tests to run in the mountains there...

Interstate 70 was no where to be found at that time of course and then over the years it was started and it took plenty of years for it to be continous for our trip.

Our move to this location {to live}, was 44 plus years ago but travel back and forth to the home land continued of course.  Now parts of the interstate route have been redone and I commented to Jean just on this last trip how good the route across here is now...perhaps the best ever without a doubt....

But for Sarah traveling that distance in her vehicle that could get a bit old fast...and if there was any amout of wind blowing and with the 6" lift...Wow.  I'm sure she did not travel all the way out on I-70 but, anyway...it is a long drive.

Must get busy here....eveyone have a good day..{and week}.

PS:  Jen...79....Wow..!  That sounds pretty good.  We're to have 70 today.

Help yourself Joe, I've got a project here at work designing an undergrounding conversion project and haven't been able to spend any time on the forum. Looks like this week will be the same.

I did see one of our resident trolls has acted up and is grounded. Don't know why Bergie keeps giveing him 2nd chances.

Anyway, you all have a great week.

Morning/Afternoon everyone.....

Football was kind to the Wisconsin area this weekend: Badgers won, Green Bay and Chicago both won, and a kid from Burlington in his first career start beat Carolina (Go Tony!!!)! For those who don't know, I went to high school with Tony Romo, we graduated the same year.

Weather forecast says 66 for a high today, then the bottom drops out tonight, highs for the rest of the week will be in the 40s, with DRY WEATHER for a change the rest of the week after tonight. Should help out the farmers a lot, some fields are still very wet.

Everyone have a good day.

Good afternoon, folks.  Lunch is now ready.

Since this will probably be the last really good weather we'll have for awhile, I've
fired up the grill and on the warmer bar you will find:

1.  steak
2.  burgers, brats, hot dogs
3.  pork chops
4.  chicken

Side dishes are:  pork n beans, potato salad, baked potatoes, slaw, fries,
mac & cheese, potato chips.

Desserts:  since I made so many desserts yesterday, and they weren't all taken
care of, we still have plenty of chocolate cake, and some pumpkin cake.

According to our "weather guessers", the  trick or treaters tomorrow night will
need umbrellas as part of their costumes.  Then, the temps are to go down, down,
down.  Looks like we'll REALLY feel the autumn weather.

Mookie - the play went fabulously! I thought The Pajama Game wasn't really the best choice our drama director could have made, but it really shaped up to be my favorite of the three musicals I've been involved in since I started high school. Doing the lighting wasn't really very hard, either. I just had to be able to follow along really closely and be on the ball. I wish you could've come, but I know it was best to just stay home and get better.

Well, we were up into the mid 60s just two hours ago with light winds, now the cold front has plowed through and the winds are sustained at 30 mph and the temperature is in the upper 40s. That's fall in Nebraska, I guess.

Everyone have a good evening!

At 9:30 this morning I headed out to run an errand, at was almost shirt-sleeve weather, with the temperature being in the upper 50's to low 60's, with just a light breeze. How quickly things can change though! I made a trip to my neighborhood grocery store for a dozen eggs, a pound of butter and a couple loaves of bread and an 18 ounce jar of peanut butter. I finished my shopping and got home within the last half hour. The temperature has dropped to 36 degees, and the wind is blowing out of the NW at 28 MPH, and gusting to 37 MPH. With the wind blowing, it actually feels like 23 degrees here.

I'll have a couple hot dogs and a couple burgers while I'm here in the Diner.

Good Tuesday morning to all, on this Halloween morning.

Coffee and juice are freshly made, and we have some hot
apple cider available this morning, also.  And there is
some pretty good witches brew around also.

On the warmer bar you will find:

bewitched biscuits w/cyclops gravy, goblin turkey bacon,
deviled ham, eerie eggs,
and for this morning, especially
for Matt, Frankenstein fries.
