It's 31 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It's supposed to warm up to about 57 degrees toward 4:00 this afternoon. I'm getting ready to take my mountain bike out on the bike trail and head for Falls Park for a get-together with a few other members of the Sioux Falls Camera Club, most of them I have not seen face-to-face in nearly a year. I might be lucky to catch a BNSF grain train or a Dakota & Iowa rock train on the way down to Falls Park or AT Falls Park itself. But first I will need to stop in at the Diner for some breakfast, Cherokee Woman says there are bacon and Pancakes, and Joe has indicated that there are some cinnamon rolls that he has warmed up. I'm hungry!
I watched a 110-car BNSF grain train roll through the yard here in Sioux Falls yesterday from the 10th Street overpass, and dang it, I did not have my camera with me. Anyway, the motive power on the point of the train consisted of #5050, 4709 and 864. I think if I go back to the BNSF PHOTO ARCHIVES, it would tell me just what these engines are.
I hope everyone out there has a great day!

It's 49 here right now, but we've gotten over an inch of rain since last night, with a very windy forecast tonight and tomorrow. Have to make sure the chainsaw is ready to go - we may need it for downed trees....
Pizza does sound good....

Temps inching up to the potential 50 degress under a sunny sky. The wind is cold, but is working to knock down the rest of the leaves on the trees on the yard. I want no more than one last time on yard cleanup this fall, so as I wait, I'll grab a sandwich, shove Kevin off the couch and take a nap.

Sorry I'll miss the pizza. Heading out to the new Tex Mex place to try it out. Raining buckets here and in the high 40s. Hope it doesn't freeze tonight or I will need to trade snow tires for ice skates. Supposed to have winds of 60+ tonight too. Not a fit night out for man nor beast. Glad I won't be walking the brakes tonight...

SactoGuy188 wrote: cherokee woman wrote:7. Supreme8. Special with everything on itHold it right there. Isn't a Supreme pizza by definition one that has pretty much most everything topping on it?
Not necessarily. Pizza Supreme is a term of art. Like "Hawaiian Pizza" means pizza with ham and pineapple.
Pizza delicious as usual.
After dinner we (my mother, visiting from AZ, and I) took in the concert by the Army Field Band. Really great. They did Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor" (which was included in Disney's "Fantasia"). I'm pretty sure it was written for pipe organ, but they did it justice. The vocalists left you wondering what else they are capable of.
Time to call it a night. Lake effect snows and high winds forecast for past midnight and into tomorrow. Should be really great! (Not!)
Larry
Glad you enjoyed the concert.
If you go on the Field Band web site and check out the bio's for the singers in small ensembles who are also members of the Soldiers Chorus, you will find that if it is music they can do it.

hope everyone that needed to got their clocks set back.going to have 2 nice days then the freezer door closes for a few months.
Sarah hope your move went okay.I wouldnt want to drive a moving truck with the high winds that we had recently.
juice and coffee are ready to go.we also have some pumpkin bread this morning too.
I wonder if there's any pizza left over from last night? For me to have left over pizza for breakfast is not too unusual.
My internal alarm clock would not let me sleep beyond 5:00 this morning, and it's cold here. At last report we had a temp of 26 degrees. It's supposed to warm up to about 68 or 69 degrees this afternoon. I guess I'd better enjoy the warm temperatures while I can.
Joe made the coffee and orange juice, and the pumkin bread sure smells good! Since Cherokee Woman is not here yet, I'll take charge of serving breakfast. Breakfast this morning will consist of; bacon, sausage, eggs any way you like them, ham and cheese omlets, buttermilk pancakes and french toast, and apple/ cinnamon coffee cake.

....A nice sunny morning here in Muncie...To be a pretty nice day...and upcoming week. Maybe 70 tomorrow.
Wow...{Sarah}, that distance with a short wheelbase and...raised 6"...That would be a bit tough for that distance. We travel across some of that distance. {I-70}, several times a year from here to Somerset...roughly 400 miles and I am pleased to be tooling a good handling and riding car. And if you did it while some of this wind came through....that must have been challenging.
Must think of getting ready for church...everyone have a good day....

Morning All,
Well, we're supposed to get up near 70ºF today. No thank you sir, I think I'd like it to get cold again (I've become a cold weather creature the past couple of years). Looks like I'll get my wish for Halloween. It's supposed to be snowy in the morning and cool in the evening. Ahhhhh...that's more like it.
Sarah, congrats on the move. I remember when I moved from Chicago to Denver. It was tough, but I'm glad that I did it. BTW, if you think your trip was tough, you should have tried duplicating my trip. I got caught in a blizzard in Nebraska, and was doing about 5 MPH behind a semi. After doing the math to figure out how long it would take to get to Denver, I decided to stop at a motel, and wait out the storm.
Anyways, hope you all have a great day. Catch you later!

It's in the 30s here with high wind warnings gusting up to 60 mph today. Come visit. It's snowing, never gets to the ground before the wind blows it away, but it is cold and the wind will cut through you. Gettin' the carharts out for switchin' tomorrow...
Now that I've finished my chicken and dumplings....
No snow here, but the occasional raindrop and a promise of lake effect to the south. Highest gust so far here at the house was just over 23 mph, but I'm in a valley. Mom's still visiting, so we took a ride out to where Lake Ontario empties into the St Lawrence River. Standing was difficult, to say the least. And the lake is really rocking and rolling. At least one ship dropped anchor in the river, rather than risk the lake in gale force winds. And that was a salty!
