You got that right, Joe. And I DO HAVE PLENTY of chili left.

Although, at least thru Friday, all wer're supposed to have is
RAIN, RAIN, RAIN. Went to Kroger awhile ago, and you'd
think people were getting ready to be snowed in. It was so
crowded in there, as the saying goes, "you couldn't shake people
with a stick." Maybe they're thinking we'll get a FLOOD
again, like back in 1994, when it started raining on 1/30 and didn't
stop for about two weeks.

No, we won't get wet over it. But will check out the Yellow Pages and see what
restaurants I see listed around corner of M. Ali and Chestnut. Thanks for the
info.

Not a lot in the way of freezing rain last night at the house. Guess its all waiting for tonight and tomorrow. Time to get the snowblower out of the garage.[xx(]

I have a couple of dinner requests: Chicken and noodle soup with some kind of bread or dumplings(any way is fine, dumplings just sound yummy)

Okay gotta go stock up on ice melt.

Mike, we do have chicken noodle soup, with veggies in it, and I'll fix up a batch of
chicken and dumplings.[C=:-)][dinner]

Breakfast will be: oatmeal, toast, and anyone who wants it: turkey bacon,

Lunch: chili, vegetable soup, baked potatoes, and leftover
meatloaf, fresh mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Supper: How about beef noodles and sucatash (lima beans w/corn)?

CW - watercress on a plate, no dressing. You feed these people way too well and if you look closely, the diner is starting to tip slightly to the west! Let them eat cake - just not mine!

Mookie, you've got your watercress, no dressing. Maybe I'll check with owner
and see about just serving sandwiches and desserts for awhile. Think Jim
(jhhtrainsplanes) will go for that[?][;)] But I think I'd better leave the breakfast
menu alone, for right now.

Weird weather has also hit California! We have had rain off and on since Christmas. One day we actually had 4 small tornados. (one F1 and three F0s).Really rare for out here.Had I5 closed yesterday because of snow on the Grapevine, still closed this morning. Not raining now but another storm due Thursday.

^~^ - sniff......

Chocolate Cake in the oven......oh boy, oh boy! Nuts to breakfast - just a bowl of fresh chocolate cake and milk poured over it.....kitty heaven!

You know - I am not the smartest whatever in the universe, but in our town of 250K, at least 240K must know each other, cuz they are all on the phones with each other! Amazing! Maybe that is why we had an ice storm and the mall south of town had several police officers just dividing up the "accidents" into bunches! Guess I should start up Driver's Body Shop (Mookie's didn't sound quite right!)

Jim, thanks for the EARLY birthday wish: my birthday is actually on May 5th.
Locomutt just had a birthday on Nov. 8th. (54 Yrs.)

Cunningham's is still open. After the fire, they moved from 5th & York to
4th St. somwhere. We're still wondering about the steakhouse. Which
steakhouse on 4th are you talking about?

Hmmm. someone must have hid Mookie's apron! Cause I looked for all
our aprons so I could send them to the laundry service. I just thought
that maybe she took it home with her! [:I]

Today's breakfast is on the light side: oatmeal and toast. After all, we
do have to start reducing ourselves for the new year: but that doesn't
mean I'm totally changing the way I cook!

To Joe: That birthday hint wouldn't accidentally be a 70th birthday/
anniversary rail car, would it?

Lunch menu: light sandwiches such as tuna salad sandwiches,
turkey, roast beef, etc. with garden salads.

Supper menu: Meat loaf, mashed potatoes w/gravy, green beans and salad or
cole slaw.

Ta Da! I am back! ^~^

Thank goodness that is all over! One more day at home and I would have started pulling out my fur!

The weather was so nice all the time I was off, then I woke up this morning to an ice storm. The streets are just glass! So take heed if you are east of me - get out your ice skates and studs for your shoes!

My desk is a disaster, so ate breakfast at home and will only peek in for a few days! May get something to go - I am so thrilled to be back at work!!!! Good coffee, good friends and good reading material! And the work is fun, too!

Happy Happy

Mookie! [:D]

(Love how the local weatherman's estimate has jumped from inches to feet! Warnings are up already for eastern CO and western KS on Tuesday...wonder if UP will call out the rotary this year for Limon, CO to Salina, KS?)

On top of the icy roads, two of our three hospitals were on diversion (not taking patients) during the onslaught.

All peaceful now....
