Whew - too nice to be inside today - so I spent all day outside building a new fence (which meant I had to tear out the new one first. Got about 1/3 done on the new one. Gotta clean up now - not that I don't like pizza (I do), but it's a ham dinner at the neighboring firehouse (their annual dinner - one of the perks of being a chief...), so I'll be there.

I had to put a temporary fence to keep the pup in. I used some of that black bird netting (cheap - and it's probably a one time use). The pup didn't run headlong into it, but she took a look, put her head into it - and found out it wasn't budging. Then I get the look like, "OK, how do I get over to you?"

Afternoon all....

Been raining for a while already this afternoon, supposed to be a continous rain untill monday night or thereabouts. Cool enough out that I had to shut the windows, might need a little heat later, but I'll leave it off for the time being. Have been inside working on the computer, working on territories for Train Dispatcher 3. I've been editing my former Wisconsin Central territories up to present day, adding new track configurations and Metra passenger schedules. Maybe this summer I'll take a trip and check my territories against what's out there, it's kind of depending on fuel costs, though.[V][V]

Brian, I'll split that Meatlovers with you if you can't finish a whole pie.

Okay, been making pizzas all afternoon. Here's the line-up for tonight:

l. cheese
2. double cheese
3. supreme
4. sausage
5. sausage & pepperoni
6. pepperoni
7. meat lovers
8. Hawaiian w/pineapple

I made three pizzas of each kind, so there should be enough
for everyone!! And they're all extra large pizzas, too!!

Enjoy your pizzas, everybody, and let the SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA
FEST
begin!![C=:-)]

Sure thing, half a pizza suits me just fine!

On the other hand, if they're EXTRA large, I don't know if I can handle even that much.

It was a TERRIBLE night at work tonight. It rained, and rained, and rained, then it rained some more. The roads in the yard were flooded half the night. It was a miserable night, the rain was cold and no one wanted to work in it. My shoes will take 2 or 3 days to even try out.

The frogs were taking to higher ground. [:o)]

I have not heard a total but it must be large.

I'll get some soap and shampoo, and we can take our Saturday night baths.

Looks like a band of moderate rain is just about ready to hit Madison, and it could be a few hours before it passes. Local radio was predicting one inch or better rainfall for just tonight. Hope my dad managed to get the low ground planted this week, it could be a while before he gets in again.

good morning,
hope you are safe and dry this morning. My old diner was along the Conrail tracks and Sandy knew each of us by name. Mine was always bacon, cheeese omlet with onion, wheat toast and homefries. Coffee black. The conversation was same as here-but we could see the trains through the window-miss that-the diner is now a car dealership. Thanks for listening.

Whoowhoo, [#welcome] to the Depot Diner and Coffee Shop (DD&CS)!! Always
glad to have new people come in here. To welcome you into the Diner, breakfast
for everyone this morning will be: omelettes. Got one finished and ready for
you to eat whoowhoo, with the ingredients you requested.

Everyone else, let me know how you want your omelette, and I'll whip it up.

Please try to stay dry out there today, everyone, and I'll let you know in a
couple of hours what Sunday Dinner will be. (cause I'm still trying to figure
out a menu for today's dinner/supper).

whoowhoo,
Welcome to both the Forum and the Diner !!!! It's always nice to
have some new names and faces aroud here.[#welcome]

John;there are plenty of Dinner items around,as the dinner "rush"
hasn't started just yet !! And Joe is very correct in describing how
much "stuff" CW does fix.[:D][dinner]

Jim;the rain and wind came in our area also, they finally gave up
and cancelled the Derby Festival Great Ballon Race, first time for
a complete cancellation in 13 years. ('93 was the last;they usually
try to reschedule during the weekend, but was not to be this year.)

And what do you mean the frogs moved to higher ground?
The ducks were refusing to come out;even with "slickers" on !![(-D]

Was just watching the Weather Channel- congrats Jim, North Little Rock was tops on the list for rainfall totals over the last 24 hours. Something like 4-1/2 inches, if I remember right. Our predicted monsoon didn't materialize- just 3/4 an inch here.

Brian, I don't remember hearing a total rainfall amount for us today on the 6:30 local
news this evening. Maybe I'll hear it on the 11 p.m. newscast.

Jim, hope you all dry out in North Little Rock. Know you're all hoping to dry out also.

And yes, there's plenty of pork roast, etc. left for anyone who wants some tonight.

I think I'll help myself to some pie cuz I just finished my research paper. 13 pages and 2,792 words later.....I can't wait for the semester to end in 10 days. I think I'll throw some coffe on even tho it's early. I don't drink it but this way it'll be warm and ready for you guys when you wake up. Plus I have some fresh home made donuts for you folks. Made 'em in the dutch oven just a while ago. Plenty of powdered sugar too!

Dan, thank you for putting the coffee on! Love it when someone beats me
into the Diner, and starts the coffee: it's so good walking into the door and
smelling coffee brewing!! Also, thanks for the homemade doughnuts!!

It's good to hear from you, Dave, glad to have you back with us.

It's a regular wedding cake, but you have to stand on the ceiling to eat it.

OK! I'M AWAKE! I'M AWAKE (maybe if I keep saying that it'll be true!) Worked on the new picket fence yesterday, then six hours at our PBS station running camera for the merchandise auction..... Maybe Madam la Mook won't mind if I habitate the hammock for a while..

Kozzie - Congrats to you and the new bride!

a la mode - from my desk dictionary - 1. According to or in style or fashion. 2. a.Served with ice cream, as certain desserts b. braised with vegetables and served in a rich, brown sauce, as meats. [Fr., in the fashion]

It's also defined as "a lustrous plain-weave silk fabric for head coverings and scarfs.

I just had to look it up - one of those phrases you use all the time, but you never know what it really means....

CNW 6000 - Could you pull that coil car from your consist? It pushes my screen out so I have to scroll left and right to read the posts.

Hmmm... Larry, you must use a different screen resolution- his sig actually makes my view utilize the screen better (normally I have a good three inches of white space on both sides of the posts). I currently am using 1152 x 864.

Thanks for posting that. I have missed the local news every time it was on so I didn't hear an official total. Those I have asked all had a different amount but none of them official either. I just know it was about the heaviest rainfall I have seen in a short time. Train-wise Saturday night was slower than normal so that was good, but those that did come in seemed to make it in right during the heavy rainfall times. [:(!] [:(] [V]

Well today is my Friday and looking forward to getting it over. [:p] By the time my Friday rolls around I am sooo tired. [:(]

Well I heard some shocking news just yesterday. I was talking to the man who owns the rent house just 2 houses down from me. He evicted the tennant for not paying rent and was trying to clean the place up. During our conversation he told me he had found out the lady who rented the house had a boyfriend staying with her. Turns out the boyfriend was wanted for MURDER. [:0] [:0] [:0] So it is a GOOD thing to get rid of them. [;)]

It is sunny now and going up to 85 they say. We have 30% chance of rain today with 40% tonight. Right now, I could pass on the rain. [^]

For those in or near Kansas the 844 will be in Topeka early this afternoon, but only for 15 minutes. Then they continue on to Herington and it will be on display in Herington on Tuesday from 8 to 5.

Everyone Take Care

I have been thinking about adding a "Party Room" on to the diner. I guess now is a good time to get it going. I will make some calls and get a construction crew out here right a way. I would think a room seating 100 would be large enought for our party room. What do you all think?

And Kozzie, bride, family, and friends can be the first to use it. NO CHARGE. [:D]

Now off I go.

Guess I'd better get started on baking a white cake w/white frosting, and
decorate it for our newlyweds!! Who's good at cake decorating around
here?!?!

Lunch today: leftover pork roast, mashed taters w/gravy, and beans, corn,
and garden salad.

Got two pots of chilli going on the stove for supper tonight: one, mild, and
the other medium hot.

Wonder there Ms. Moo is this morning. Have anyone seen her?
