GASP -

Just barely made it in here! Been running from a paper monster all morning!

Had to do an Evelyn Wood Speed Reading to get through the forum!

Kozzie - congrats. Someone say cake?

Jim - It's Party Time! Make a lot of room!

Tree - I'm heading to the swing on the porch - so you can have the hammock. What's new puppy's name? De-tails De-tails!

I'm in time for lunch, so maybe CW will make me a club sandwich for lunch? If I say Please very nicely?

20 days and counting....

Happy May Day - was going to leave a May basket for everyone, but ......I ate the candy....
[*^_^*] and Mutt ate the flowers.....[^] He sure does smell good now!

(Joe - I did manage to keep one for Matt ! Filled it with french fries!) [8D]

And - a final thought. The Rain In the Plains Fell Mainly on the Trains!

Supper tonight: it's kind of on the "light" side. Manwiches w/fries, or chips.
Think we'll also have some garden salad, and/or broccoli with them.

Joe, I've made up three for your supper tonight. The buns and the manwich are
separated in the container (thought you might want to warm up the buns sepa-
rately from the manwich so the buns don't get too crusty hard). And Joe, tell
Mama I'll appreciate her help in decorating the cake for Dave and Debbie!! I can
frost/ice a cake, but not too good on decorating and writing on a cake.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. Well, it's raining here in Louisville. About 45
minutes ago, we were getting thunder and lightning. Seems to have passed on to
another area (at least for the time being).

Breakfast is laid out on the warmer bar. I've had people ringing the doorbell for 1/2
hour now, to sign up for Produce today. Just glad I woke up early this morning, and
managed to stay awake and get up out of bed!!

Everyone have a good morning, stay as dry as possible, and I'll be back after I get
through with Produce.

That's a pencil lithograph, one of three by an artist that I can't remember the name of now, that I have in my home office. It's a beautiful portrayal of the Rock Island passenger train. The other two I have are steam-era works. I still need to get the third one hung up on the wall. I had my Dad matt and frame them for me.

Mornin' All

Dan [^]

Thanks for removing the one car. The train still looks good and we don't have to scroll around the forum now. Many thanks.

Mutt

Bad Dog, Bad Dog. I bet a certain Kitty will suggest you be put in the dog house.

And speaking of dog house, poor Duchess was out on her yard leash while ago and a quick little shower started. She doesn't have a dog house unless you count the real house. [;)] She does not like to get wet either. [B)] I got her inside just a minute after it started but she had that, "I don't know what to do" look on her face when I went out to get her.

And speaking of rain, the official total for Saturday was 4.43 inches of rain in a 24 hour period. But actually it didn't start raining until half the day had passed so it was more like 4.43 inches of rain in a 12 hour period. My steel toed shoes (I have 3 pair of them) are still drying out from that day. [:0] Both NLR and Little Rock set record rainfall amounts for the day.

Well Duchess wants me to spend some time with her so I guess I will. [;)]

Brian, that's a good picture of you in your home office!

Joe, you are so right: did get potatoes, onions and carrots at Produce this
morning, and the beef vegetable soup is on the stove, cooking. But, since I
just got it going, it'll be for supper tonight, along with cornbread.

For lunch, we'll have tuna salad sandwiches with your choice of fries or tater
chips.

Jim, guess Mookie's too busy in the office today, since I haven't seen her around
at all this morning. But I'll be sure to keep some lunch set aside for her. BTW
Jim, Mutt DID leave her a real bouquet of flowers: a real nice spring time arrange-
ment.

I am here finally. Got gum in my fur, had to use peanut butter to get it out, then had to get bread for the peanut butter and had to scrounge for the jelly, which lead to bacon and eggs and.....well, you get the picture!

Mutt - [:I] And they won't wilt, either.....thank you!

Brian - you look "supishiously" like the driver - no grass on a busy street and a cookie duster.

Now everyone will know how handsome the Driver is! Eat your hearts out!

Actually, a baseball cap would complete the picture. You don't realize he has a busy street until he takes his hat off! [^]

Tree - talked to a lady here on campus that just celebrated her cat's birthday yesterday - Miss Kirby - she is 19! Said she got a couple of gifts and cards!

Jim - Duchess should have some extra lovin'.....maybe a short rest in the big bed? Little dinner from the table? A condo in the yard? Cadillac in the drive?

CW - will push our lunch tray out to porch. I think I see the sun!

^~^

Beautiful day here today, just returned to my work desk after walking around the entire Rockwell Collins complex (close to two miles worth!); plus I bicycled in this morning. I bet I'm not keeping up with Carl, though.

Real flowers now. I suspected something else. [:o)] I guess Mutt can come of off the doghouse then. [;)] I will have to make sure he gets an extra helping in his di***onight. [:p]

Notice to Miz Mook - One of your orange engines got loose and ended up here in northern New York! I wrote the number down, but left that at work, and I'm off until next Tuesday, so unless I hear it involved in an EC-1 (track warrant), we're stuck with it being a GE...

MC - some cheese usually does the trick with my pup. Just enough to wrap the pill(s) in. She gets a taste of cheese almost daily, so doesn't pay much attention if I hide something there.

I don't mind Miracle Whip - then again, I grew up with it - it's about all Mom used.

Sarah, our 22-year-old daughter is feeling the same way you are, only more so- she made it through her last three finals today, and just has to finish her term paper and hand it in tomorrow, and she's done with college![yeah][tup]

Now we just need to find her some gainful employment for the summer.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. The sun is shining, and it's about 50 out-
side. Little cool, but I'm sure it'll be warming up very soon.

Coffee is on, and I've got the juice made. Orange pineapple this morning.

Breakfast is: your choice of oatmeal & toast, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled
eggs, sausage gravy w/biscuits, Raisin Bran, Cheerios, or corn flakes.

Sure is quiet in here. Guess I'll turn on the layouts, and listen/watch them run
while I'm working in here.

Brian, give my congratulations to your daughter, please. I know she is very,
very glad to be through with those finals.

Big Muddy - hug them both for me! If you give Andy pill in meat/cheese, won't you have to do Gus, too? Just so the whole world knows - I have a picture of the driver and one of Gus and Andy on my desk at work! Met them once and immediately fell in love!

Tree - I am going to say it is probably a GE - we seem to run a lot of those. For awhile all we saw were SD70's, but now we see a lot more GE's - all shapes and sounds.

In fact here lately, we have been running just about anything with wheels on it! Some of them are starting to look a little worse for wear, too!

MC - you go ahead and travel, but always leave a feather in the dinner so we know you are ok.

Brian(IA) what is her degree in? Going to Grad College - hmmm Dad? Maybe my daughter the doctor?

This moving here at work has me all tuckered out. Going to visit the hammock for a few hours of rest. Then to the swing for a few more. Do you know - I can sleep just like a train crew person - learned to put head down while sitting straight up and nap for at least 30 min before neck starts complaining! Wonder if I can qualify to be engineer on that premise alone........????

I'm outta here!

Her degree is in Religious Studies- she plans on taking a year off from education (17 straight years of studying has her burnt out), and then enrolling in Seminary to become a Lutheran Pastor. We fully support her career choice, however she's going to have to find a way to finance Seminary without our help (they do give out some full-ride scholarships, so we're praying for that). In the meantime, if her boyfriend finds a good full-time position, they may make the need for our assistance in her life totally go away (after the wedding bill).

Glad to see most everyone has made it in today! Here's the lunch menu for
today:

I've got the beef vegetable soup warmed up, and ready to dish up for lunch;
you'll have your choice of BLTs, grilled cheese, tuna salad sandwiches to
go with the soup.

Looks like it's going to be a very sunny afternoon, so maybe we'll grill out for
supper tonight. Let's see, I've got some pork chops in the freezer, along with
some brats, hot dogs, burgers, and a few steaks. Anybody else have any
suggestions for something to put on the grill?
