Had leftover meatloaf and beans/potatoes for supper. Have enough left
for another meal; unless someone wants a late night "snack".

It usually goes that way. The cold weather sits on us for several days, then gets tired of the cold weather and heads south to warm up. You guys just get caught on the way.

The Louisville area hasn't escaped the 'warm' weather either.
We got up to about 64 degrees today, and will only get up to
about 35 degrees tomorrow. Makes people sick.
Don't know about the last, except for us not to have 'bad stuff' happen.

Jay,I think what you had there,is about what we are getting now.

My poor cousins! Still too fast for el-gato mooks.

I have odd visions of chicken getting shoved through coax cable along with a few extra electrons and data bits. You sure firemen Kirk and Scott haven't got their little project in the basement of the diner working yet.???? Maybe you beam -them-up to Louisville and Lincoln.

Larry, I'm thinking along the same line as Mookie: if you do kitty bags by mail,
I'll place an order now for Sunday for two kitty bags to be delivered to Lou., KY[dinner]

Glop for weather all week. This is the part of winter I dislike, especially when all the dirty snow starts to show.

Mark your calendars for next Sunday - Hate to steal business from the diner, but it's for a good cause. Annual "St Patricks Day" Chicken Barbeque at our FD social hall. BBQ chicken, salads, beans. Local church donating cupcakes for desert... We're cooking 800 halves, so plenty to go around (as long as you're there by about 1:30).

Yesterdays UV index was 13 on a scale of 1-15. Today again will be almost a cloudless day mid 80's & no humidity. If you are coming to the lower SE do not forget your short sleeves, shorts & bathing suits

< ~ > little windy out there today! Wearing my ears on the sides of my face!

Welcome to new visitors. Just wanted to gloat a little - it was a no coat weekend. We were out Friday afternoon, Sat afternoon and all day Sunday. Not much train biz - they ran most of them overnight - but - sat in the sun and, well, you know what a cat will do in the sun!

Spring over - back to 40's rest of week.

Sounds like we have some very musically inclined family members here on the forum. Well, not to be outdone, just remember Mookie plays a pretty mean radio!

Good morning everyone. Monday is here, our temps are to stay about the same
for now (64 this a.m.), until the rain and thunderstorms come in this afternoon:
then the temps will drop, and the rain will turn to snow for tomorrow. Oh well,
I just keep thinking, Spring is only 13 days away.

Breakfast this morning will consist of your choice(s) of: oatmeal and toast,
biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, gritts, cream of wheat, and the boxes
of cereal.

For lunch, all the regular menu items, with today's special of lasagna and
garlic Texas Toast. Will have plenty of lasagna and garlic toast, so there
will be enough for the supper crowd also.

Hi all,

From time to time I have mentioned that my step daughter plays clarinet with the US Army Field Band. I know a few of the members enjoy a wide range of music and if close to a concert stop may want to catch a performance. The spring tour starts March 11 with a concert in Gainsville, FL, works north to St Sault Marie, then makes several stops in the UP, WI, and MN, before swinging south of Chicago and heading east. This will be Melissa's last tour as she is leaving the Army when she and her husband bring in the second grand baby for the clan in July.

Details and more on the band at http://www.army.mil/fieldband/

If you go to a concert ask to meet Melissa Lander and tell her I sent you.

Jay

Well Jay,
Congratulations on your stepdaughters accomplishments,
I know you have to be PROUD.
Saw that their 'tour' is coming through Ky.,just wish it was
Louisville;as we would try to go.

And your 'supper';'dinner' sounds great. (maybe CW and I should
invite ourselves for it)
The after dinner cigar and brandy sounds great.

no replies posted on amtrak! is amtrak of no interest to railfans? i can't believe it.
name calling between bush, mineta, and congress goes on apace. is the
administration hostile not only to amtrak but also to railroading in general? we'd
better take stock of this situation pretty fast, and not ignore it. we need to beat the
bushes, literally and figuratively before it's too late! crosstie@wowway.com

Webster5 - Are you working locals or down to Dewitt? How I'll have to make double sure to wave to the crews that go by on the Montreal Secondary. If you see a tan truck with a red light on it around the Watertown area - that's probably me.

We got a phone call from Jim this afternoon. He and Duchess were sitting
outside in the nice warm sunshine in North Little Rock. They are doing fine.
Duchess was being a tad bit impatient while Jim was talking with us.

Hopefully, his computer problems will be fixed shortly, and he'll be back
with us.

Hey webster, welcome to the forum. Always good to have the guys that walk the rocks come in.

Just stepped outside to check the weather. Looks like some of the warm from Lincoln finally drifted up to our fair state. At this date, 50 and sunny here ain't bad. Snow is almost all gone, but the ground is still frozen solid. I guess I can count on a few more days before the lawn mower comes out. (If I can find it under the mess in the garage.)

Will skip dinner at the diner tonight. Sunday is for dinner at home, just the three of us. For the rest of the week during our business season we barely have time to say hello, let alone dine together. Roast beef, assorted vegies, baked potato (sour cream, chives and butter), tossed salad, milk, choice of several deserts. Nothing fancy, but formal attire is not required and one doesn't crave an after dinner cigar and brandy in the library.

See you on the forum
