Well if the weather forecast is correct we are planning a clambake this weekend. Lobster, clams & oysters will be the order of the day with all the fixings. [:D]

CW - take the day off and let everyone brown bag it. I think I will make a braunschwager sandwich - white toast, little butter, little mustard - ummm good. And of course, a glass of milk to dunk it in... [C=:-)]

Any other dunkers out there?

Thanks, Jen: think I WILL take the day off. Having problems with
my knee, and can hardly stand. So a day off of having to stand a
long time will be greatly appreciated.

And speaking of dunking: do we have any OREOS around?

Another January day today! I know my calendar has to be really screwed up. Either that or some Canadians are punishing me for something I might have said (or thought) by pushing the cold Artic highs right down on top of me.

My work days are running into work nights. I'll take care of any left overs.

getting even more snow here.... just a short burst though.... and speaking of people doing stupid things with their cars... one of our firetrucks was involved in an autoaccident responding to a house fire... two people in the car went to the hospital, none of the firefighters were hurt... from what i could tell from the cameras, the side of the car that was hit was bashed in, and the fire engine appeared to have a few dents

My mom was not allowed to marry my dad until she learned to cook Italian from my grandmother. She was very old scholl Italian. My grandparents were fresh off the boat from southern Italy. My dad was the first born in the US.

I'm not very 'keen' on the taste of squirrel, and definitely don't need the
Adkins diet.[:D]
Although if I wanted a squirrel,I could probably just go out to the
front yard, and shake our pine tree.(unless I can get the one in the attic.)[xx(][:(!]

Tom: Italian and Irish - Wow - that's a combo! Let's see - Tom's family growing up - lots of noise and odd pairings of food?

Irish - that's corned beef and cabbage - ergo a Reuben - and you don't like them?

Italian - Brats....maybe with pasta...?

Mutt - you shouldn' have squirrels - you bein' a Mutt and all....

MC - send squirrels. We have more than enough trees for them and a busy street for the old slow ones. Not a lot of dogs and cats around to bother them. And they use our garage roof as a freeway! We have a big neighborhood so they are more than welcome.

And speaking of squirrels - we have red and black. The black are only found in an area that is the oldest neighborhoods in Lincoln - in the area where we watch trains.

Good morning everyone. Nice and chilly here this morning: 22 outside right
now. So we'll have some nice hot oatmeal and toast this morning, along with
the orange juice. Also have some apple juice, and pineapple juice.

Lunch will be the regular menu, with lunch specials of potato, tomato, and
vegetable soups.

Haven't planned supper menu yet. Will let you know later; am open to
ideas for supper menu.

Birdies in cream, huh?.....Sending Joe-Bob, Bubba and Cooter Pigeon over to see you in Nebrasky. One way to rid myself of flying rats and three red squirrels that eat most of what is in the bird feeders. (jimmy-Jo committed suicide last week by flying into the kitchen window...3rd one this year).

You sent Cooter to Nebrasky ? Well it was him,or one of the others
around here the other day.(apparently made a detour)
We can't feed the birds very well,as the squirrels seem to find it first.
It is rather funny (not) to see a squrriel get to the feed before the birds.
Haven't seen any animals commit "soap suds" for awhile, although,
I wouldn't mind seeing a few squirrels do it.

For our supper tonight, locomutt had a Banquest roast beef, peas and
potatoes dinner; I had a Red Baron supreme pizza (the ones that come
in the twin pack). They're pretty good, and since mutt won't eat pizza
very often, it's perfect for me.

Like brats and saurkraut, although I've never had them together. Growing
up, we always had saurkraut with pork roasts. It was serarate from the
pork roast.
