Most cats are dainty eaters. They don't make a lot of noise but they eat quickly and tidily!

However....

The resident at our house stomps to the bowl, crabs the whole time I am fixing it and then slurps and gobbles. She sounds more like pig than cat! [:)]

Lilly (our cat) takes it all out of the bowl, eats half of it and walks away. The dogs (protein fiends) go nuts trying to get at the leftovers up above.[}:)]

My daughter's favorite cat would often bring offerings to the door. My daughter would crack the door open, thank the cat profusely, and advise the cat to go enjoy her prize. The cat always seemed satified with that.

Purrfect solution! I like that a lot. We just keep Mook inside and solved the problem that way.

Good morning. Snowing lightly, right now. Supposed to continue until
around noon. So far, don't have to do any shoveling here.

Breakfast will consist of your choice of regular breakfast menu.

Lunch special will be cream of potato soup and whatever sandwich
you'd like to have with it.

Supper will be chicken tenders with roasted red potatoes.

We have hog farms that use the ahem, water waste is what I have been told, as fertilizer on crops. I think they haul all the animal waste down to our capital, gather up the same from the politicians and ship it off to another state! Maybe Texas. How would they ever know - they have a lot of animals down there, too!

Veggie gardens - the soil around Lincoln is clay. We grow interesting veggies....

Driver had a cat that used to bring in gophers as his present to the rest of the family.

Seen more than a few dairy barns go up when the hay was but up a little green, but the manure piles in my old neighborhood were put to good work in the spring. With all that fine compost, seems like Nebraska could become the vegetable garden of the earth.[:D][:D][:D]

You should ask CW about the time a few years ago, when one of our cats
brought her a 'mouse trophy'.

I'll get them for Walt's Easter basket; but I don't care for them: too sweet for
me, somehow.

And Joe, I'll take a chopped steak and mashed potatoes, please.

I was admiring that snowy mountain scene until I realized that Nebraska doesn't have any mountains!

Any way to clean and harness all of that potential energy?

Here in the upper reaches of NY state we're fond of burning hay bales. Keep in mind that these are the big ones, the size of small cars, and they burn for quite a while. We poured a lot of water on a big pile (800 or so) of these bales last spring...

Lest one thinks that they have to smell better than burning manure - the neighbors aren't any fonder of them...

Or smell it either!

See the fussy East Coast has coal mine fires. We don't have coal here, so we have to go with what we have. Somehow it just isn't the same....
