Good morning everybody.
I have something to get of my chest that you may find just as ironic.
I live near a highway and isn't that busy but busy enough. Now it is snowing and you would believe the amount of stupid accidents I see people getting into. Now living in Canada and all, how the heck do Canadians not be able to drive in the snow? Is it just me or is that wierd?

Part of it is the "instant forget" thing, but a big part is the predominance of SUVs on the road today. Too many of them forget that even though they can put it in four-wheel-go, they still only have four-wheel-stop. Not to mention that SUVs are notoriously top-heavy and roll over very easily. The percentage of accidents in this area that are roll-overs has skyrocketed.

And on another topic:

A SUV took a header right into the wall on the highway this morning. Where the wall begins, he smashed into the end part head on. St.Catharines Fire Department had to come an get his butt out but seemed to be o.k because the ambulance left without their lights on. The Ontario Provincial Police (which duties include highway patrol), blocked off a lane so the tow truck could remove the sound barrier hugging SUV. The retarded part of the story was that the roads were not slippery because the sanders and plows did an excellent job through out the night and morning so as far as I can tell, stupidity 100%.[V]

Just make sure you keep the fires and other assorted disasters down to HO scale and you will have nothing to worry about!

Now crawling under my HO rock.

People are like that here in Kentucky, also. Propably anywhere that gets
any amount of snow. People just seem to forget that they have to be more
cautious and be more aware of what is going on when it's snowing.

BLTs sound great. Since it's already "tomorrow" in the Cherokee Village, could I get one now?

Hey - Fifty's Nifty!

It's Fire Department Banquet Season - Baked ham and scalloped potatoes mixed in with a lot of camaradarie tonight. Spent the day watching it snow at the county fire training center while we learned about incident command and played with Matchbox fire trucks and ambulances on a big HO town. I also got a new "job" - refurbing the simulator. It's all HO, so should be interesting...

I'm not in the picture, because I took it. They are in the middle of a simulation.

Good Saturday morning, folks. Way to go Matt, for finding the Dorritos and
Fruit Loops cars!

Breakfast will be a good ole country breakfast this morning: country ham,
red eye gravy, along with the regular biscuits and milk gravy, fried potatoes,
and Fruit Loops cereal for Matt, and anyone else who wants a bowl.

Lunch will be regular lunch menu, no specials for lunch today. Will figure out
a special or two for supper tonight. Please give me some ideas, folks!
Maybe one special for supper menu will be pork chops. Does that sound
like a good idea?
