Been very busy yesterday . We take the time to thank all of you for the concern shown to us . The bed bug hauler is loaded & on his merry way. The pickup truck & van is loaded on Rattler chained down tight . Spent the night in Xenia for a basic lesson on laptop use of wireless. Now ready to go.
Weather & road conditions determine how long it takes Phx. area .Shirl & me trade seats bout 2 hrs. for 8 or 9 hrs. then tie up for the night. Hope to make Az. in 31 hrs. >>>>
Modelcar ; Muncie is special to us , our 2nd son was born @ Ball State hosp. in 58. At the time I was drivin' w/Rayburn trkng. w/ Hugh & Sid . Wehauled into Meyerhoffer packing . Not a sweet job , but somebody had to do it . we liveed on So Macedonia st . next to NY C & NKP tracks & the switch tower . If the Diner gets a distorted or burbled post from us , its' cause of washboard road or buttons too close together on laptop . We will stay safe as can be . Good blessings to you all.

Cannonball: Interesting stuff on your experience with Muncie....As you probably know, that packing Co. is long gone...since back in the '70's I believe.
You would see a tremendous difference around Ball Hospital now too...Much larger.
Our 20 is NW of Muncie about 5 miles....just north of Yorktown. Called Westbrook...Built around a golf course back in the mid to late '60's.

Good afternoon everyone how are we all doin today fine and dandy. I hope well my weekend is about to end in about 1hr cause I got to go to work today. I'm takin UWM skiing today and tonight it won't be to bad but I really wante dto just relax this weekend but oh well not much I can really do about that. Supper tonight: beef stew and cornbread. Mutt and I busy around the house, so
that's the quickest thing I could think of: just put everything in the Crock Pot, and
let it do the cooking while we catch up on other work.

Sun's shining here, and outdoor temp is somewhere between 38 and 40. Not
too bad an afternoon.

Watching trains around here this morning would have definitely required a vehicle - or some very warm clothes. 6 AM temperature was -15... But sunny!

Switch - Enjoy Phoenix. My mother and sister live there. I like to visit, but still value the seasons and don't relish having a water bottle glued to my hand from April to October. It is, after all, a dry heat.

Aside from the real railroads there, make sure you get over to the Scottsdale Railroad Park - ride behind a pint sized steam in the cooler months, and the local live steamers have track there as well. Rode behind the steamer, but couldn't get away to see the little guys.

Joe;hope you are correct about that,because our "weather persons"
are basically saying the same thing,we ARE looking forward
to some "warmer" weather,but..................still got a ways to go yet.
And yes,"Big Bird" touches down tomorrow afternoon,so we'll have at
least one guest then !! Definitely looking forward to the "warmer" weather
so we can do some good "railfanning" !!!!
If I remember the "long range forecast" correctly,our other guests should enjoy
some of the "supposed" warmer weather also.

Carl; "elsewhere" has bicycle racks on the fronts of all their busses,
if it's out of the shop,you could bring with you.
However,other people will be inside,watching another person riding outside !!! [:D][}:)]

HMmmmmm,hope she doesn't pack a "snow board",'cause it definitely
isn't looking like that. Now if she wants to put a "skate board" in with
the luggage,that might be very cool;plans are to go to our "Extreme Skate
Park" one day...............
(Louisville has one of the BEST in the country,Tony Hawks has

Good morning everyone! Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day today.
Sure was a good weekend. Nice sunshine, and the temps weren't too
bad, either.

Breakfast this morning: oatmeal & toast, with bacon; or, you can have
sausage, biscuits & gravy and and scrambled eggs.

I've got some beef stew and cornbread for lunch special today, and there
are tuna sandwiches, bologna & cheese, ham & cheese sandwiches
that I'm making for lunch.

Supper tonight will be breakfast-themed: sausage or turkey bacon with
pancakes.

^00^ - Wow - How apropos - mouse in a coffee cup.

I was feeding the livestock in the backyard at dark-30 this morning, had peanuts and corn in my hands, turned on the porch light and opened the back door only to look into two really beady eyes standing just off the "patio". I keep two pans of water out there and have moved them up close to the back door to keep them leaf-free and so they don't freeze as fast. Those scary eyes were heading for the water and a drink. It took one look at me and loped off into the darkness. I felt a little rattled by it, but after all, all animals have to drink water!

So add to the livestock list of squirrels, bluejays, a crow, one rabbit and now a possum.

This isn't our first - we have had several sightings and one huge one was hit by a bus on our very busy street. So we will probably never have more than one maybe two.

Now I am fully expecting (since I put out peanuts) to find Dumbo out there some morning!

Exciting weekend train-wise.

Gotta find my brush - my fur is still standing on end.

your not the only one to see critters.just at sunset here was coming back from the store and i saw a deer run across the road 100 ft ahead.well he wanted to join his friends in a spring wheat field.was about 30 i would guess.wasnt sure if i saw bambi or not. matt and i watched dumbo this weekend on the tv. he liked the pink elephants on parade.

Well, I'm still doing last minute cleaning. Mutt is getting ready to take a bus to
the airport to meet and great our VIP coming in at 2:40.

cream & onion, and french onion, along with a couple other kinds of dip.

Afternoon everyone.....

Sorry I haven't been in lately, had a little problem with Charter on the internet service (they only had to change every connector and splitter from the pole to the modem, and it's still not 100% fixed yet, ^^*#!@#^##^@! Charter!!)

Not too much happening up here near the Mad City, found out we're going to be fairly busy at work for the rest of the year with orders from UPS, FedEx, Yellow, and Dollar General. All this business means we're hiring for assemblers again, which is a good thing, considering we're running a skeleton crew on the suspension line.

I'll take breakfast for dinner, CW. We'll see everyone later.

Did you ever notice humans don't seem to adapt to the animal world as well as animals to our world?

Spent a week in Wyoming at a local reasonably nice motel. Was warm enough to have windows open at night - to the tune of mom raccoon and babies in the garbage cans 2 floors under our window. I rather looked forward to their nightly foray and forage....

Very small town (Centennial) and they were pretty laid back about wildlife in town!

Animals take things as they are, humans meddle until they get something to their liking. Our local fox (a mangy, sorry creature) roams around until he finds something edible (usually live by the sound of it). Animals can't rummage our garbage bins because they're made of plastic, with a heavy hinged lid, and stand about 3 feet high.

Now, a hot coffeee with plenty of sugar please (I like coffee with my sugar).

Well, did I have an interesting flight down here from Philadelphia. Little did I know that I was going to be sitting next to, a middle aged lady who occasionally fliped out and cracked up everytime we hit turbulance. She also had a pure fit when it was time for the plane to take off and land. Darn I wish I had my camera with me because, that was a halmark moment.

CW, I'm really looking forward to the breakfast / din din menu! I'll have 6 pancakes w/ Maple Syrup, and three sausages. Can I also have a glass of Orange Juice, oh pretty please???

Mutt..........................I knew before hand what the weather was going to be like down there. [:D] So I left the snowboard in Philly but, I was thinking about bringing my agressive inline skates but..............................sigh I didn't.
