^O^

Hope everyone that works around me is happy. Now I have what you have been spreading! Now I am going to sneeze on your desk and cough all over you! Managed to avoid this for Jan & Feb, now have it! Turkeys!

Notice I have a face mask on to come in the diner, so I don't sneeze on anyone. I am sure it is allergies - eyes itch, sinuses are going wild, scratchy cough, leaky eyes.

And I think I got this train watching - wind, warm and lots of dust blowing around. [sigh]

Should have worn the face mask trackside. But then we get into train robbers, the sheriff, all sorts of odd things....

I need a nap....

here is some tea that will help your sinuses.matt brought you some tissues
paula walt and company
if an item like that would disturb the csx tracks above the viaduct the csx trainmaster assured me the truck company insurance would not want the bill for delaying trains. delay a ups train and its even higher.

In all seriousness - I think it's because they don't want to be burdened with a coat to have to keep in their locker, etc, etc. I see it all the time. It does mean that on a day like that, one of my first concerns in the case of a school bus accident will be to get another bus there ASAP for the uninjured, 'cause otherwise they are going to be COLD!

Switch - I've driven some of the tail end of your trip - but not with a "rig." There is a whole lot of "nuttin'" out there. Got your water bottle all primed up? Won't be long before you'll be needing it...

Good morning everyone! I think I'm awake this morning. More awake than
yesterday morning. (lol)

Making up pancakes for breakfast. Have sausage and bacon frying to go with
the pancakes. Also have new bottles of syrup to go over the pancakes. Unless
you want to put some cantaloupe or strawberries on your pancakes.

Geranium, wouldn't Ghost Toasties be like Post Toasties?[}:)][:I]

...Sure feels like spring is near up here in Muncie...Sunshine...warm outside and saw our first Robin Feb. 28th...so it's starting to fall in position to push winter on north....Hope it continues. We know we can have a set back though...but it can't be long lasting now.....Must get tractor in order for upcoming mowing. Time for new tires....

Well it through me back but just for a second as we have talked on the phone before. [:D] Plus I had a feeling she was there. [;)]

And you win an all expense paid trip to . . . . . Louisville, Kentucky, [:D] [:o)] [:D] for 2 people, the trip is for one day, meals included at the Diner [;)] .

What MORE could you ask for? [:o)] [:D] [;)]

Well we hit 82 yesterday but only about 67 here today. Right now it is not cloudy but clouds are suspose to move in and give us some rain this afternoon and evening. I had to sleep with the ceiling fan on last night. [:0]

The last 3 days I have seen some hugh wasps. You know the ones that have the redish orange body. I think they originally came from Texas because we didn't have them here 10 years ago.

I have already had dandilions in my yard. [:0] I don't think we will see any more winter here. [:p] I would L O V E a nice L O N G spring with highs in the 60s and lows in the 50s. That way no a/c is needed nor heat either, [;)] and that makes for some nice low utility bills. [:)]

Well it is Monday already. [:(]

Everyone take care.

Germanium, sorry about getting your name wrong: blame it on the old eyeballs.

Jim, exactly who won an all expense paid trip to Louisville? Could you fill
in the blanks for me, please, kind sir?! You know my brain is kind of mushy
until about 1:30, 2:00.

Lunch today: garden salad w/tuna, ham, cheese (American, cheddar, & Swiss),
with crackers or bread sticks.

Mookie;if you were here in our area of Ky.,I'd say that you had the:
"Ohio River Valley Crud !!",but since you're in good ole' Lincoln,Ne.
I'm not sure what you all call it. (maybe in your case it could be:
(The UNL what you've got,but don't want whatever !!) [(-D]
Maybe you should try the NyQuil, seems it only puts one to sleep,
but really messes with the minds of the germs that are causing
said problem. [:D][(-D]

Jim;Dinner for only two ??!! As of this evening,it should be five !!!
Surely the "contest" rules are more flexible than that !!! [}:)]
Whoops !! forgot,that one is "rigged" anyway !!!! [:D][}:)]

Quentin;we're at 61 right now, with the temps dropping through
the weekend, and supposed to be cooler next week. (what a let
down from the 70+ temp. we had yesterday !)
We've been seeing "our" Robins for about two weeks now, guess
they're wanting me to fill the feeders;had wanted to wait on that for
just awhile though.

Larry;guess I know what you mean about that,if the lockers are
anything like what I had back then,it's more like a half locker, and
there's hardly any room for books !!

...Yea, temp has dropped here too....As the day passed, clouds moved in and wind picked up and temp now in mid 40's...Still, that's better than reg. Jan or Feb winter normal temps......To be cooler now for a few days. Blossoms can't be far behind.....
Jim, if it gets too warm down there in Arkansas, you might send it this way. But only for a short time as it will get hot enough here on it's own in not too many months.

Yes, Joe, you all can come down any time: always glad to have company arrive!!

Speaking of company arriving, we're awaiting the arrival of our other two visitors
who have now gotten into town!! Anyone want to bet that there'll be "A Hot Time in
the Old Town" tonight?!?! (lol)

I've made some Italitan spaghetti for supper in the Diner tonight. It's on the warmer
bar, with your choice of Italian bread, or Texas garlic toast. Garden Salads are in
the small cooler. Plenty of choices of salad dressings for the salads.

Germanium, locomutt is correct: with my allergies, I have been sneezing
quite a bit. Maybe I did type the wrong key as I was trying to avoid a sneeze.[:I]

Well, we are back home from going out with our guests ( Carl & Pat). They are
now on their way back to their motel. We all had a very nice time together. We'll
be seeing them again in the morning, and we'll go railfanning sometime tomorrow.

We went to this nice little place for supper. Trains all around us, in the dining room.
Very enjoyable, with train pictures on the walls. One right by our table, was of the
Pennsy, GG-1; beautiful picture! Kathi Kube will know the restaurant.

Cannonball & Shirl, glad to hear you're enjoying your Arizona vacation!!

Hey all, I'm back from Chicago. My wife and I had a great time- saw the play "Wicked". Fantastic play- if you get the chance, go see it. On the way back, we got off the tollway and ate breakfast in Dekalb, after which I followed the UP all the way across Illinois and Iowa, and also spent a very chilly 90 minutes getting some good pictures in Rochelle. I'll post those up to rrpicturearchives tomorrow. One shot I got which I think will become a favorite- caught a westbound COFC being pulled by a set of four shiny new locos, all cab forward*. Also caught a patched C&NW loco. The action was hot and heavy, much to the consternation of a UP MOW crew that was "trying" to work on the points at the interlocking.

*EDIT: Not sure, but they look like new AC45CWCTEs, #s 5248, 5249, 5250, and 5253.

Switch8frg;
Quit finding the potholes in the road, and you won't have the problem with the "keys" being so close together !![}:)]

Well, you're not being "snooty" at all, some of us "snowbirds" sort of wish we weren't !! We're getting tired of having 70 degree temps. one day;and 40 degree temps. the next !!
Some of us rather "envy" you all in warmer "climates"

And yes,you don't need to be making extra "sparks";with the very "dry" weather
out there;besides the home owners,I know that the Firefighters don't want/need to be making any extra runs !!!!

Good Friday morning, folks! Sorry about getting in so late. Woke up at 3, went
back to sleep a little after 5. I've got breakfast going now: turkey bacon, sausage,
biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs; or there's oatmeal & toast and cantaloupe.

CW - I can identify with that sleep thing - wake up, can't fall back asleep.

Grabbed oatmeal before I left the house, but will take more of that cantaloupe...

Windy here today, per the forecast. No snow, though. As cold as it's been, we've still got most of our recent crop. The drifting is the problem, especially on some roads. Only takes a couple inches of that blown stuff to pick you right up and set you in the ditch. Almost made that trip the other day myself.

Does Mooks have her marshmallows and hot dogs ready? Colorado is sending a Nebraska a 23,000+ acre range fire near Wray unless we can find a way to put it out. (They thought they had it stopped yesterday, but....)

Afternoon everyone, I think......

It's been a weird week for me at work, started off really slow with maybe ten units done one day, and finished off with a grueling marathon session last night, we stayed late to avoid going in today, and we busted our tails.

Remember the saying 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'? Maintenance worked on one of our tire machines last night, and now it's broken. Lost some of the functions, then the control switch started getting sticky. Got so ticked off I switched over to the other machine for the rest of the night.

Not too much else going on around here, going to get a few errands done today, then out tonight to play poker with the local free tournament, see how well we do tonight.

I'll be over in the corner for a while, sipping on some soda, petting the cat..... Hey, where'd the cat go? Oh well.
