Hi Tina - I missed your entrance awhile back. Someone finally e'd me and filled in the blanks! Welcome to the diner!

When you do the link to the spot - think "Found a Peanut" 2005 style!

You need to have Ed fill you in on being married to a "commercial cook". It was a side-splitter! It fits our household very nicely!

So glad you are going to be on the forum. We have so much fun and really do learn a lot. It's the retention that is difficult.....

Good Morning, all. I, too, have next to no voice and am craving ice cream for breakfast. CW is this possible?

I saw Maintenance in the Way yesterday on the A & M line in Rogers, AR. Oops, sorry MOW. Twice I've seen a UP high-rail truck, once at the liquor store in Missouri! To be fair, the store also has some great hamburgers, too. Not as good as CW's mind you.

But I been wondering where that UP high rail operates. Surely, not on my precious KCS line. Anyone know? I'd ask the big guy, but he needs to focus on staying safe.

And I am still lol over the link and the day Ed learned to cook. I bet it wasn't frog legs.

Lunch special will be country fried liver (maybe a pest's liver). (lol)

Maybe some of you good patrons could give me an idea for supper.

MBKCS,
Sent my wife a "game" somewhat like this one a few years ago...
You had to find a bullfrog in a picture and click on it.
Same thing, ever time you clicked, more frogs...(and bullfrog sounds)
One of her co-workers heard the frogs, walked into her office, and busted up laughing, she had been clicking on the darn frogs for quite a while.
She asked Aimee "What are you trying to do?"
Aimee told her she wanted to see what was at the end of the "game"...co worker almost hurt herself laughing even more...."There is no end..the whole point is to see how long you will sit there clicking on the silly frog"

This occured about a day before I had to learn to cook for myself....

Ed

You're absolutely correct Jay,it is a 'stupid' link (but funny)
Certain people don't need to press any buttons around CW.
(especially after last night.)

May have something to do with pressing the wrong buttons, and perhaps getting CW upset. But on the other hand-you may just have to understand REALLY STUPID LINK to get it.

Carl,
Sorry to hear about the 'little one',hope she does okay.

Now;about this special vacation,"Disney World" ????
That would sound pretty good.

Hope you have a 'great' time.

Mudchicken,
Great link !!!!!!!!
I would honestly suggest nobody pushes it around CW.
(especially right now.)

Joe,
You're right; DO NOT make the 'little Irish/Indian' MAD !!!!!!!!
Just because she's short in 'stature',doesn't mean she
won't give you a "LEVEL SWING"!

She may not be able to talk, but I can guarantee that she can still yell.
Albeit; typing,note paper,etc.,or cooking.
And if you get her too mad, there won't be any cooking for
any of us.

I should know after 18+years.

(won't EVEN be any leftovers,we'll have to fend for ourselves.)

Thanks Zardoz, for the suggestion of the salt water. I've been using cough drops
to sooth the throat. And thanks, also, Carl. The St. Louis ribs sound good.

Supper tonight will be whatever you ask me to fix: as long as it's not too
complicated. Remember, I'm a Southern gal, and basically only cook good ole
downhome cooking.[:)]

Wish I could go out and meet you in Rochelle, Eolafan.

Your breakfast sounds a lot like mine (though I take my b/p pill at night).

Paula, you have my sympathy--and empathy this year. I don't remember so many sneezes in past springs.

St. Louis ribs for lunch here (trying something different).

My countdown's down to 11 days--somebody else's on this forum should be at 12.

Are you gargling lots each time you use it? That's what the doc told me: gargle twice for 15-30 seconds each time, or throut irritation will develop. Just an FYI.

I spent Tuesday touring all over the area...spent about an hour and a half at Coal City along the BNSF Transcon main and saw about four trains in that time...then went to Lockport and saw additional BNSF trains before going about a block away to the Lockport Metra station and saw an Amtrak train to St. Louis BLAST through (must have been doing about sixty plus...then shortly afterwards a southbound freight with two BNSF Dash9's and a CN unit bringing up the rear. Back to the BNSF transcom for about fifteen minutes and heard the EJ&E crews fighting over the radio on my scanner for time to repair a frog before more trains could proceed.

I was out at Rochelle on Monday and if the weather person is no fibbing I will be there on Thursday as well (forecast is for 64F and sunny). Must admit I find Rochelle and Eola preferrable to the other places mentioned as they are closer to home and have many more trains (seems like anyway).

Breakfast this morning consisted of coffee, vitamins, blood pressure pill and Cherrios (had to mention that as this is my first visit to the Depot Diner & Coffee Shop.
Welcome to the diner! Glad to have you stop by. We really should have a medicine chest put in, so a very large group of us could put our old age medicine in it. We could probably look like a mini-Walgreens!

Stop by again and let us know how the rest of the vacation goes!

Supposed to be a very nice day today; so think we'll have assorted sandwiches,
that we can take outside and eat on the patio at the picnic tables. Will have
potato chips or fries, or potato wedges to go with the sandwiches.

Plus, we have the muffins I baked last night: cinnamon/apple and blueberry.
