Brian, we'll have ham and au gratin potatoes for supper tonight; along
with the chilli and grilled cheese sandwiches (including that in supper
menu, also). Only dessert tonight will be your choice of Jell-O or
chocolate pudding. (Everybody has to have room for all the good food
Thursday).

CW Ok 11am sounds pretty good to me, it's a date.

Well, the weather over here in PA is very cold, windy, and rainy. Now, they are talking snow in late evening tomorrow into eairly morning of Thanksgivig! Well, this will be interesting, its a good thing I'm not driving to my cousins house in Delran, NJ on Thursday, I'll let someone else do that! lol

The Polar Express came out on DVD today, so of course I went out an bought it for about 6.50, I had a membership to the video store, so i got a good discount. I plan on watching it later on tonight, I watched it four times in theaters.

CopCar, I'm glad to hear that your having fun in Chicagoland. I think were going to need mondo details of your experiences. lol

Don't know about the "extra" details,but do know that Chris did make it there;
and he and Carl at least made it to Rochelle. A phone call alerted us to that
so we got to see both "mugging" for the camera.[:D]

And I'll bet they crawled up to the camera mount to provide everybody a good close up.

I checked the archived shots from today and it would appear that our esteemed contents manager made sure any record of their presence was lost.

Not a bad day for trainwatching.

The only reason we weren't shot for posterity by the Webcam is that no trains were harmed (or obscured) to make those photos.

There were plenty of freights on the main line while we were on the road to and from Rochelle. We were frustrated by a few missed photo opportunities, but I engaged in the rare (for me) sport of actually chasing a train.

Pat and I found Chris to be very personable, with many diverse interests. After going out to Rochelle (checking out the new three-track main line at LaFox on the way), we returned to home territory, taking a quick trip to Proviso, then seeing the BN three-track through Westmont and Downers Grove before returning Chris to Aurora.

Looking forward to Chris' return sometime around Christmas--maybe more of you could join us then!

Carl, belated congrats on reaching your 3k goal. I only have a 2.7 mile ride to work so it will take me a while to get to that level.
Keep on biking!

Tip Top of the morning to you all,

Would like to thank Carl and Pat for a lovely day out and about in Northern, IL. Certainly an interesting day! Would post some pix, but I managed to forget to bring the driver for the D60, and Photochop. Will be sure to post some stuff when I get home next week. Thanks again for a lovely day Carl and Pat!

Not sure how much I'll be around today and tomorrow, so if I don't see you, I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving.

TTFN!

Lunch today will be: ham & cheese sandwiches or tuna salad sand-
wiches w/potato chips.

Not sure about supper menu yet.

I am here! Late, but here! Had breakfast with Driver - a thrill, believe me! He's off today and I am only here long enough to paw the $ and then I am gone - train watching. Will be in low 60's before cold front tomorrow - so you can bet I will be in the sun watching my favorite sport!

CW - got receipe - will take it home and let Driver try it out. Since it is his day off, he will be doing the laundry until I get off, squiring me around town and then cooking supper. He's glad he doesn't get a day off too often!

So to all my friends, acquaintances and certain relatives - have a safe holiday, a great Thanksgiving and be very careful - we will take attendance when you get back!

Woke up to snow on the ground this morning, but it's fast disappearing.

Some of this stuff should have gotten to us yesterday, according to all of the forecasts, but we had an amazingly clear sky all day. I'll be as anxious to see some of the shots Chris got as the folks who weren't along.

The only place I'll be going for Thanksgiving is to work (I should be thankful for another train-watching opportunity and for double-time-and-a-half, I guess).

Today, however, we're doing a little shopping and granddaughter-visiting. Then I have to start logging some of yesterday's marvelous sightings, as well as those from the rest of the preceding week.

Trainnutz, my ride home from work is a little over eight miles. (The ride to work runs around 11 miles, but that's because it's during the day, and I take the "scenic route" that brings me trackside in a couple of places!).

Looks like Sunday or Monday will be the next good day for biking.

Carl, me too. [:(] [:(!] [:(] But like you say, the money is good. [;)] BUT, I would have rather made my normal trip to visit my parents. My new job, back on second shift again [:D] ) has Tuesday and Wednesday off. Thanksgiving and day after are paid holidays so I could have taken my trip BUT have to work turkey day and day after. [V] [:(] [V]

So everyone who can enjoy being with family and friends enjoy the time you have with them. Eat plenty of turkkey and trimming as I will be missing out on those two. [:(!] [V] [:(!]

The "show" must go on. [:D] [:D] [:D] So some of us have to see that it does. [;)] [:o)] [8D] Right Carl? [;)]

Well, I already know that I'll have at least two patrons here in the Diner tomorrow.
At least I'm not doing all this cooking for nothing!!

Hope everyone will enjoy the lunch that's on tap for today, and in a couple of
hours, I'll be posting tonight's supper menu. Right now, though, it's back to
the ole grindstone in the kitchen!!

And greetings from foggy Tacoma! I'd go train watching, but I can't see a danged thing! Doing the "Brunch Train" thing on Sunday, so will definitely get some train time in then...

Won't be in Tomorrow - I've bee informed I'm in charge of the turkey here, so will be tied up all day. But I might find time for a brief visit nonetheless.

Time to go play with son & DIL's three mini-doxies. What a handfull!!!

Morning/afternoon all....

Still a bit of snow on the ground here, but it looks to be slowly melting. The winds are supposed to pick up tonight, and get preeeeety cold again just in time for Turkey day.

Have to finish getting everything packed up to spend the long weekend at my parents in Burlington, WI. Don't worry, between my parents and two sisters, there are four laptop computers, so I'll probably check in throughout the long weekend.

Everyone have a happy thanksgiving, and keep the shiny side up on the roads!

Well, most of the Thanksgiving Dinner for tomorrow is just about complete.
Potato Salad is done and in the fridge; green beans w/onions cooking on
the stove. Maybe while the Stove Top is cooking tomorrow, I'll fix Mutt some
brocolli or brussels sprouts. And the turkey breasts are ready to go in the
Crock Pots first thing in the morning!!

Now, for supper tonight, we'll have: burgers and fries.

Thought I better stop by and wish a happy Thanksgiving before everybody left town.

Off to Grandmother's house (actually my mother, but grandmother to more) tomorrow morning. We will go over the Wisconsin River 4 times on the way there, and there are many woodlands along the way.

Special thanks to those who have to keep the wheels turning tomorrow. We'll see if we can get you a special makeup day.

Keep a sharp eye out for the deer, Jay. The hunters will have them running this week!

Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving, everyone. I'll be back here tomorrow afternoon to enjoy CW's big feast, even though we're taking our daughter and her boyfriend to a local restaurant for the real thing at Noon.
