Sarah, Joe and Bryan, you can have how ever many of any of the ingredients
you want on your pizzas. I don't limit the toppings.

And Jay, you can bring them in, and use them, but you can keep them!!

Shouldn't be eating pizza this late, but it's a good comfort food. Nice job, Cher!

(In spite of just coming in from the cold, I'll take a tall glass of caffeine-free Diet Dew to go with the pizza.)

About a trip and a half to work will do it for the biking goal this year--I'm over 99 percent of the way there! It got up to about 50 today here; I was probably dressed too warmly for the inbound trip--felt good coming home, though.

Joe, thank you very much for getting the juice and coffee ready this morning.
It's always good to have such great helpers around here.

Sunday breakfast this morning: turkey bacon, sausage, biscuits w/sausage
gravy, fried potatoes, hash browns, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast.

Sunday dinner today: meat loaf, green beans (shellie) w/potatoes & onions,
and also have some mashed potatoes.

Sunday dessert: apple pie w/vanilla ice cream (or Reddi Whip).

I'll bring the cheddar cheese - regular, sharp, & seriously sharp (for the New Englanders) - to go with the apple pie.

You'd better have that sharp cheddar cheese ready, because:

Is that 4X or 5X? I usually keep a little 4X in the fridge. The cheese store hasn't had any 5X lately... Seriously good. Somebody told me about some extra sharp Swiss cheese the other day. I'm gonna have to look that stuff up...

Good Monday morning everyone! Well, the countdown begins for the Thanks-
giving holiday. So, I'll be very busy the next few days getting the Thanksgiving
Day meal ready. Will need to take an inventory as to how many people will
actually be here in the Diner Thursday; because I know quite a few will be
going out of town to share the big day with family. But I will be having a meal
prepared in here for anyone who isn't going anywhere.

Breakfast today: the juice and coffee are ready, and the menu this morning is:
turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage & sausage gravy. Or you can have:
Cheerios or Corn Flakes, Fruity of Chocolate Pebbles for breakfast.

Lunch today: meat loaf sandwiches, or meat loaf, mashed potatoes w/gravy,
and green beans.

Everyone have a great day, and I'll post the supper menu around 2:30, 3:00 EST.

CW, I'll be around if you need an extra set of hands to get ready, but I will be going to my mother's on Thursday. My brother is coming from Buffalo and my sisters will be there, too. it will be a rather somber holiday for us as it was on Thanksgiving Day last year that my dad passed away from leukemia. I'll pop in here before I head over or when I get back. For those who will be traveling, I wish you all safe journeys and to everyone I wish for you a safe and happy holiday. Please keep in mind our servicepeople who must stay separated by distance from their families.

I too will be around for Thanksgiving but, I will be heading out of town at 3pm, so I'll most likley be in here a tad bit eairly. CW let me know if I can do anything.

I'm beging to worry about our weather forcast system over here in PA. I heard today that it was suposed to be very windy, and rainy. Well this morning I steped outside and guess what? No wind and No rain. I'm not complaining but, I am begining to wonder about some of the predictions, they are not very educated.

Lets see what else happened today. I feel aslseep for two hours in one of my classes today. Oviously I was way to tired. That is a clear sign that my college should close school for a week during the Thanksgiving week. Ya Know?

Looks like I'll be dropping in on Thursday--our benevolent employer has not yet told us whether they'll be needing our services that day, but it would appear from the generalizations I've heard that they will.

At least it will look good on the pre-Christmas paycheck!

Ran errands, passed the 3000-mile mark on my bike this morning. This is the 18th straight year of doing that (maybe more--it was 1988 when I started keeping track). Best year ever was in the vicinity of 5600 miles.

Cher, tonight's dinner sounds absolutely perfect. Save me some, OK? I may be hungry after work.

Carl-Nice work on the 3000. Way I figure it, that would be 150 gallons of gas by car (at 20MPG). Probably more of a contribution to energy independence than most of us do.

Nice day here, but there is business to take care today, I'll grab a bite of whatever for lunch and be on may way.

Short week. Leave for the farm Thursday morning and there is work to do. Back later.

Have plenty of sloppy joes, barbecue and potato chips. The sloppy joes and
the barbecue are on the warmer bar, along with the hamburger buns to
make your sandwiches. Chips are on the counter.

Sarah, your help will be greatly appreciated Thursday morning. How about
coming in around 11, and we'll work on the last minute details.

Carl, I'll be sure to have a plate ready Thursday, for you to take to work with
you.

And Brian, bring the wife in with you on Thursday (unless she's going to be
out partaking of all the "First day of Christmas Shopping" bargains).
Boy, am I glad I'm no longer in retail sales!! I'd be getting up at 3 a.m. that
morning.

Sorry about that, Joe. But I wasn't talking about you!! I actually have a recipe,
and it's entitled "Sloppy Joes". I jus always think of my brother-in-law, when
I think of Sloppy Joes (and he's not really a sloppy person). I'll try to remember,
from now on, to refer to them as Manwich sandwiches, o.k?

They were called "Untidy Josephines" by some branch of wife's family--never heard the whole story.

Manwich is good; we used to like Aunt Nellie's canned sloppy-joe mix better, but can no longer find it.

All of these mixes call for ground beef, but we had a bunch of sliced roast beef left over from a family gathering once. I slivered that stuff and put it in the sauce instead of ground beef. Surprised a bunch of folks--it tasted great, too.

Thanks for saving some out for me, Cher!

Good Tuesday morning, everyone! Hope Mookie is in today. Missed her
somehow, yesterday. She must have been really busy, preparing for the
Thanksgiving holiday!!

Coffee and juice is ready, along with the usual breakfast items on the
warmer bar. The people will be showing up in about a half hour, to
sign in for Produce Day. Everybody have a good morning, and I'll be
back in later.

Hanging out on the fringes CW.

Will you give out the receipe for your sloppy man's? Just ingredients will do. I cook by taste and what sounds good to me, so don't need exact measurements. That sounds good - have never tried the canned version - always figure I can do the scratch one.

I'm tired - need a good brushing! Maybe the hammock will help! @

Good Morning Everyone,

Sorry I've been AWOL here. Went to White Pines over the weekend, and have stayed busy with other activities since then. My apologies.

Managed to get a couple train shots out there, but nothing desperately interesting. Had to do my sister's senior shots, so that took priority. Today I should bring back quite a catch though while headed out with Carl. Maybe we'll see some dinosaurs like I did yesterday on the Aurora sub (couple of geeps, one a B-unit, with an SD9 on an intermodal of all things!) Sadly, as I stated in the other post, my camera was not with me (that'll teach me to forget my Boy Scout days!).

Oh well, hope you all have a great day! See you in a couple hours, Carl!

TTFN!

Today's lunch menu: chilli or beef vegetable soup w/grilled cheese (cheddar)
sandwiches. (And Mookie, there's also some bacon to go on your grilled
cheese sandwich).

Anybody have a quick suggestion for supper tonight?!?!
