Headed out for a dinner meeting after work last night - had to take a detour (that's what I get for going the back way in the first place) - couldn't get over one of the hills due to the very slippery conditions. After the meeting I went home - nary a snowflake in sight there.

First snow of the season is alway a joy - this one was just that much worse due to it being so wet. And it was lake effect. Pretty much confined to an east-west line about 10 miles wide.

Had some oatmeal at the house this morning, so cholestoral is under control. Stock me up with some of that bacon and sausage, and a healthy (?) dose of scrambled eggs...

Sis, I pointed out to him that having a Winter Park (to play in) in Colorado is a lot like having a Summer Park in Death Valley.

Call me crazy, but I'm thinking about bringing the bike to work with me today. Gotta get those last few miles in!

Thought it was a good time to post today's lunch specials:

fish sandwiches or fish w/out the bread, fries, jumbo shrimp, cole
slaw, and for dessert: oatmeal cookies right out of the oven. Yep,
I've been baking this morning (decided to bake, and warm up the
kitchen!).

Larry, I just hope that snow doesn't make it's way down here. I'm
definitely NOT ready for snow. Not looking forward at all to
getting the snow shovel out. Besides our steps, and sidewalk,
we also shovel the main sidewalk in front of our house, our
neighbor's steps and walk across the street, and her sister-in-law,
who lives two doors (well, gravel parking lot) up from us. And some-
times, we'll shovel all the way down to the corner, and maybe up to
the other corner, as well.

And Carl, have you seen or heard from CopCarSS yet?

OK, you're crazy. But my project this weekend is dig out and mount up my studded tires on the spare wheels for my Diamondback commuter bike (Frankenbike to me and my cohorts - I built it up with random parts I had lying around or got on closeout deals). I'm ready for anything Winter throws at me.

Considering your geography, if you get a big enough body of water around there to generate lake effect snow, the snow will be the least of your problems...

For sure, whoever applied "KCS" on the edge of the platform wasn't about to take a chance of getting run over by a train locomotive.

After the quick cold snap, we are back 'bove freezing. Still cold enough to keep the furnace going at a pretty good pace. In my mind's eye, see ten dollar bills being sucked right into the burner section.

I'll be on the bike again today--the rain that had been in the forecast for today has been removed, and I'm not even sure whether it froze here last night (the Bug says it got down to 32). I have 50 miles to go!

Not very good couple of days. I got my heart broken by a women I fell for. I tried to help her as she seems to be on a path of self-destruction by martyring our friendship but she didn't seem to figure out why I did it so I guess I will have to move on. I just wish I still didn't have feelings for her-and I worry about her.......

Well did it get cold over here in Philadelphia. Today the high was about 40 something. I don't know, what the low is going to be but, its looking like Winter has finally arived here in the City of Brotherly Love. Now, if we could only get some snow. lol
