Good Morning All...

My "Service Disruption" apparently involves a freight derailment in one of the tunnels on the Moffat Sub, so I guess the CZ is detouring through Cheyenne. Only problem for me will be a later departure (unlike folks west of here who will have to get on the bus).

So barring other probs I should still be on the CZ eastbound tonight. I'll wave to you all as I pass through! [8D]

Aye Chief Scoundrel. I'll have to be a bit discreet about it though. If the other passengers saw me with a protractor against my head they might think me a little "off." [;)] Of course, there are those who already say I'm WAY "off." [(-D]

Well, all, I've got to go finish packing, and wander down by Union Station. Might grab a couple evening shots of the station and Light Rail before I head out. I'll catch you all in Chicago Wednesday afternoon (assuming Amtrak delivers me correctly! [:O])

MC - Poor Gus - probably looks like a mole in the lawn [(-D] Need to put on a "tail" extension - maybe a red flag?

We got a little drizzle - that's it. Fog this morning as it is warm - about 57.

Let's see - breakfast....CW is busy this morning and not much out. YOWL!

(I am so lazy - making toast is a project - so just bread and butter while I wait.)

Okay, since Mookie knows who our housequest is, I'll "let the cat out of
the bag", so to speak!! Sarah (csx4eva) is visiting with Mutt and me this
week. So far, we are all having a very, very great time with each other.
As a matter of fact, right now, Sarah and Mutt are out doing a little bit of
railfanning while I am cooking.

Evenin all!!!! I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!
Been a wierd month. Went to nieces wedding in Portland. Everything went well, beautiful weather, but not much railfanning, much to my displeasure. Did hit the LHS's in the area and picked up some cool stuff for the ROCK layout. Bumpy flight coming home. (should've taken the train). Got home and "apparently" someone had been on computer for 5 days with the firewall down. The 20 year old and the 14 year that stayed at home both blamed it on the "NOT ME" guy that lives in the basement. He gets blamed for everything around here. Anyway, the computer picked up every virus in the free world and a few from the Soviet Republic. Worked on it for 2 days before it just crashed completely. Had to take it in to get completely wiped clean. Seems to be running great, and am glad to be back online. I missed all my friends and the food in the Diner. I think I've lost at least 8 lbs in two weeks.
Well, I've got to go back about 10 pages and get caught up on what's been going on.
Better bring out a whole pot of coffee, CW , cause I've got a LOT of catching up to do.
Willy, back and faster than ever!

Well now...I made it one piece. Only 4.5 hours late, too! That has to be some kind of record for Amtrak.

Seriously, I think this is half of Amtrak's probs. Most of the people on the CZ missed their connections, assuming they had some. I think everything up to an hour is forgivable. 4 and a half? That really starts trying the patience of most people on the train.

So, I'll try to check in a bit while I'm back here. Hope you all have a great week while I'm on holiday! [8D] MC...be careful not to freeze (or sunburn) the feathers now that you're back in the land of unpredictable weather. [(-D]

All are scattered to the four winds!

Fortunately, the resident nuisance won't leave the hammock, so someone can watch over the comings and goings in here.

Welcome back Willie; now we wait for Chris to return. And Joe to come in and put out something for breakfast....let's see - I could do something, but I don't want to be mistaken for a domestic goddess, so.........

Wind? I'll take wind. Somebody else can take this danged rain! Haven't seen that foreign object called the sun in two weeks, and if it's not raining, it's misting, so everything is usually wet. Farmers can't get into their fields to finish cutting corn. I'm hoping it will back off at least tomorrow morning so we can do the fire prevention stuff at the school - part of it is usually outside anyhow, and we're planning some "value added" with the fire drill that starts the whole thing that will involve the kids staying outside a little longer. One of my co-workers is part native American and does ceremonial dances - I'll have to see if he's got an "anti-rain" dance in his repetoire...

I'll have some vichyssoise on the porch - it'll be a never ending meal...

CW, do you occasionally whip up some hash browns? I usually go for the classic northern breakfast here, eggs and bacon, toast, and hash browns.[dinner]

Brian,
That's an affirmative. CW always has hash browns, as well as fried potatoes,
fixed for practically any meal. As a matter of fact, if there's a way to fix potatoes
that she doesn't know, someone send her the recipe.
