Jay,

Thanks as always for the kind comments. It's a little older shot. One of my first outings with the D60, in fact! I think it may be slightly tipped, but I think mostly it's distortion from the 16-35mm, as I had it tipped up a little bit (major no-no with a Ultra Wide lens, even on a 1.6x crop body).

I sure wish I had been around when 5632 was roaming the midwest. Would love to see an O5a/b running at speed. I think they're one of the best proportioned Northerns (though UP FEF's rank pretty high for me, too). Oh well...guess I'll have to live with the static displays.

Afternoon all.

'Tis a bit chilly here near Madison the last few days, it hasn't gotten above 50 since about 1am on Thursday morning, and it doesen't look like it will happen today, either. Another sign that winter is coming, well, that and my truck is starting to smoke a bit more. [swg] The heat in the house has been turned on at night, but I still shoot for a house temp somewhere in the mid-sixties.

Got another four UPS trailers done last night, which brought the to-do list down to eleven. We did good, going from 75 to 11 trailers in a week for UPS. Found out yesterday that the specialty line (makes UPS, FedEx, and drop-deck trailers) is moving to their new line in a week, and then work will commence on building the new modification center (nine bays, doing any work from lining to side sheet changes and specialty work). Also heard that UPS just ordered another thousand or so trailers just like the ones we've been working on. That should be fun.[#dots]

CarlHa, welcome to the diner, stop in often for the good food, good times and good views of trains (real and model). It's also good insight and humor that pops up here every now and then too.

Won't be in untill late tomorrow, going to the World Dairy Expo, THE show for anyone in the dairy industry across the world. Might find something interesting again this year, I think last year or the year before the big thing was the robotic milking machine. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after seeing that. The big question that year: Does it stand up to abuse from feisty cows?

Catch everyone later for dinner.

Never stand behind a cow if it's going to the can and she sneezes.

I'll let you figure out what happens.[}:)][:D]

That's also why I prefer pipeline milking or herringbone and rotary parlor over a parallel parlor.

Joe,Hot Chocolate does sound good for this cool evening;
Maybe the 'robot' milker can keep the cow from knocking
over a lantern !

CarlHa, Welcome to the 'Diner",it's always nice to have
more people here.

Going on 6:00pm here, haven't gotten above 60 degrees yet,
at least the sun has come out for a few,it's not quite as gloomy
and overcast as it has been all day.[8D]

LOL, I saw that happen many years ago to my grandfather at his small dairy farm up near Rice Lake, Wisconsin. What made it even funnier is that he didn't move after the first sneeze, and the cow sneezed AGAIN- got him twice!

Hi Carl, I'm Brian over west here in Ioway. I'm beginning to feel less like a newbie lately.

Sorry CW, I'll have to skip your good-looking menu tonight, as we're headed to the Olive Garden to meet my wife's cousin and his wife for dinner. Later!

Right now the entire state of PA is experiencing it's first flood in a long time!!! Man I was begining to worry if I was ever going to be able to see rushing water again. lol The electricity went out about 1 block away from my house but, I'm sure glad it didn't go out here, at my house!! Because, everytime the power goes out at my house it stays out for at least a couple of days. I guess were not that important to PECO, imagine that.

CW I hope the fall cleaning is going well and I will help myself to some bisuits & gravy, fried taters, can I have a glass of lemonade to go with that please? I could use that because, I'm not able to cook tonight, I've got a trip to look forward to tomorrow.

Now, we have another Carl from Illinois in here, man.........................lol Anyway Carl welcome to the the best diner in the entire US of A!

Need that soup up this way today - Temp here at the house peaked at 53... Windy, too, but isn't raining today. It just keeps looking like it will.

Been so busy I forgot to tell everyone that I'm covering dinner on Sunday - BBQ Chicken for all! Time for the FD's annual "Fall Classic" Chicken Barbeque. Bon Apetit! (I'll hide some in the cooler for Madam La Mook.)

Sarah, I forgot to mention how much I like your new picture (the old one wasn't bad, either!)

I hope the roads dry out for your trip--my friend in Allentown told me about his flooding problems. He's definitely worse off than you, and I thought he was on high ground!

I was wondering what all the E-track was for!!!!! [}:)] I don't think UPS is having us install them, though.[sigh] Must be a company secret.[}:)][:D]

The Dairy Expo was nice today, I thought the coolest thing there was the Monster Garage exhibit, they took a 1959 Chevy milk truck and turned it into a portable milking parlor and pasteurizing plant. Pretty interesting, to say the least. As about par for the course, I came home with about ten pounds of brochures and catalogs.[:D]

Catching up with the mudchicken and boss hen later today for the debriefing on the Wisconsin trip. There should be several dozen people much smarter today as a result of his visit. We will see that MC and the boss get a rapid clearance through Wisconsin customs. (Any "chips" to declare?) And safely on the way home.

Carl Mission accomplished, I think. There was something about messed up reservations for the flight home. Otherwise we had a good visit at the Milwaukee Airport.
