Tree - I will call the landpeople! After all - how noisy can a Tree be?

And once the juvenile del - er - kids are gone, they are going to renovate the entire yard and put in plants and better grass and.....well, we do have a "tree" lined lot.....

Just ignore the ice and snow when you move here. You should be used to that and Driver will use the snowblower at 5 am just to make sure you can get in and out! [^]

And if you get homesick for the "water" - I put out a pan of water every day for the birds!

Mook!

Lunch/dinner special today: Since we have plenty of cornbread left (and I can
always make more), we're having beef stew and cornbread. And with the apples
from Produce yesterday, there's some fresh baked apple pies. Everybody enjoy
your lunch.

....Now don't forget when considering taking the upside down cake and going "across the international date line" you also must go across the more important "equator line"...and that has the power to turn that cake back to a upside cake.....

Quintin, I'm laughing so hard, I almost hit my head on the computer desk!
Mutt says that that pineapple upside down cake is so well traveled, it ought
to be well aged by now.

Supper tonight: what's left of the beef stew and cornbread, along with pork
fried rice. And there's more apple pies for dessert, with vanilla ice cream.

Sorry Mookie, he is gonna move down south and get away from all the snow. That way I can have a nice fish fry. [:D] [:p] [:D]

OK people, don't forget to donate (if you financially can) to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, or one of the many charities which help in national diasters such as Katrina. AND don't forget, there are also dogs / cats / etc., that may need help too. Petsmart and the National Humane Society will accept donations for diaster relief for animals so please remember them too. Times are not good for human or animal right now down there.

CW- beef stew and cornbread? Hot apple pie and I scream (you scream, we all scream) You're killing my diet! But bring it on!!!!!!!
That pineapple cake is going to turn into one of those hard fruitcakes with all the miles it's got on it.
God help the gulf coast. Just another example that Mother Nature merely allows (tolerates) mankind to live on this Earth. She does what she wants, when she wants, and where she wants, and if we chose to be in her way then too bad.
Think where all the snakes and gators that got washed out of the Lake went. Scary stuff.
We've got an Aunt that lives near Biloxi. No news since Sunday. Tense times here.
Anyway, on those happy notes, I'm gonna chow down! Be back in later Willy

I'm mowing the lawn here- I'll take some of everything. We've already given a donation to the Red Cross via a local DJ doing his show in the mall, and we'll probably be adding to it in the future. This gas situation has got me worried about our planned trip to Omaha over the weekend.

PS You might want to pass on the pineapple upside down cake. It is very controversial.

James, [#welcome] to both the forums and the Diner !!
There aren't too many rules around here, but, one thing you DON'T
want to do,is get the 'cook' mad at you.She is a very short 'lady' and you
might be in line for a "level swing"; If you need that explained in depth,
send me a personal e mail,and I'll clarify for you.[:D][}:)]

Kevin,I'm guessing that flash/strobe pictures(especially at night) are sort
of out of the question ?!?!

Modelcar,I don't really want to give away anything, but I think CW is planning
on either sending you a piece of that cake,or possibly another one. And I think
it's been routed the very, very long way !![:D][}:)]

Evening/morning all.....

Jim, I got bad news, especially for anyone who buys fuel near the Atlanta area. Watching CNN to check on the Katrina situation, apparently one station is charging $5.99 for diesel fuel. OUCH!!!!

Now that I just ruined everyone's appetite, including my own, I'll just take something light, and be in later for something else.

Lastly, a big welcome to all the new customers in the diner. Stick around, you'll have some fun.
