....The Ford movement will effect many folks in the automotive world....Ford will be cutting schedules so this will go through many concerns with the domino effect. My former employer BWA, supplies transfer case units in major numbers for their SUV's and 4 by 4 pickups...and yes, CW, major numbers of them come to Louisville to be installed in vehicles that are made there....Many of the Transfer case models were created and tested in large part in Dept. of which I belonged to for years....

on WJR this morning they had news on not only how this affects ford employees but the guys and gals of csx that move trains in and out of the plants.

We got some snow this last weekend! It came by train! And that is just fine with me. Came from possibly the north or east! Very pretty and lasted just the right amount of time - about 5 min!

Had lunch, must get to hammock! Otherwise CW will have stuffed kitty on fireplace mantel!

Quintin, at least the two Ford plants here in Louisville escaped unscathed this
time! Wonder about the future for them, here, though.

Lunch today will be simple fare: tuna salad sandwiches, ham & cheese
sandwiches, and if you want some soup with your sandwich, I've made
a pot of beef vegetable, and a pot of cream of brocolli soup.

....To those in the automotive field and concerned....It's 14 plants to be closed at Ford as per announcement of a few min. ago. Plus a host of other changes on the way.

It's about 20 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but the sun has come out and it looks like it will be a beautiful day here. We have no snow on the ground, just a trace of the white stuff left over from the last snowfall we had gotten in December here and there. The temperatures here in this region of the country have been above normal for the last 30 days or so.

...Monday is off to a bright sunny start here in central Indiana...32 degrees about a half hour ago and headed for the 40's today and really they are telling us a week of sunny, partly sunny and mild....No snow....That's my kind of January for the north.
Bad news for Ford Motor Co. and employees this morning....In about an hour believe they will announce the restructuring which will include about 30,000 jobs to be eliminated and probably some plant closings too...in upcoming time frame.....Our Borg-Warner Automotive plant here in Muncie is a major supplier of power train components for their SUV's and 4 by 4 pickups produced there in Louisville...Bummer.

Good morning, everyone! Nice rainy day here again, at least until about
noon time. Then, it's supposed to all be out of here, and heading east,
and northeast.

Coffee is on, and juice is made. Have your choice of orange juice, apple

Breakfast this morning: turkey bacon, sausage patties, sausage gravy,
biscuits, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast.

CW thanks for getting din din ready so early today. Yum Yum, I think I'm going to come back up for seconds espeacilly, of the creamed corn, and crescent rolls. I need some of that after coming back from the gym today.

Oh man was that place packed so was Whole Foods, the supermarket. It felt like a weekday at the gym, and it felt like Thanksgiving at the food market. Luckly I was in and out at the market, I only needed a couple of things.

News Flash! Large, glowing orb seen over northern New York!

Despite the warm weather we've been having, the sun has been a rare visitor. We got just a dusting of snow yesterday, but it's cold again.

We definitely need snow. Never mind the outdoor sports enthusiasts (the local Sunday paper included an article that alluded to ice fishing from a boat) and the many businesses that depend on their dollars - the water table, and yes, even the Great Lakes depend on that 100 or so inches of snow we see every year.

I'll have that roast now.

enough, though, and I'd rather do without it.

Anyone who is interested in a late lunch/early dinner, the roast, taters and
carrots are ready. It's all in the Crock Pots on the counter, so just help
yourselves. And the pecan pies are in the pie safe on the counter.

Carl, I had this feeling you were going to say something like that. lol [:D] I don't know what it is with me and snow, I just love it! However.............however I don't like driving in it, because of all the stupid people........ Other than that I wouldn't mind driving too much. I think we should go back to the days of the great horse. I love horses and, can ride one better than I can drive a vehicle! I can only ride English style, not western though.

You're welcome to all of our snow that's clogging the streets and sidewalks--the rest of it looks pretty good. It's still stuck to the trees, etc., this morning. We probably got less than six inches locally, but some places north of here got up to a foot.

Good morning, all! Well, our weather here is cool, no rain or anything. The
rain is supposed to come in later tonight, if I remember the report correctly.

Joe, thank you so much for putting on the coffee and fixing the juice. Always
appreciate you doing that for me, when I'm late getting in here.

Sunday breakfast buffet will be: turkey bacon, pancakes, waffles, syrup,
sausage patties, sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs.

Actually have Sunday Dinner ready: we're having roast, potatoes, carrots,
and onions all cooked together in the Crock-Pots. The other side dishes
to go with the roast: green beans, creamed corn, and nice, hot crescent
rolls.

Dessert today: pecan pie w/ice cream.
