At 11:21, our temp is right about 50 now. Can't remember the high projected for
today; but tomorrow is supposed to be 64, 65 degrees. Will be a great afternoon
to work in the backyard.

Lunch special today will be barbeque sandwiches w/your choice of dill or sweet
pickle slices and potato chips.

Supper menu is still in the "I can't really think of anything stage", except for making
BLTs and baked beans, with fried taters and cole slaw. What does
everyone think about that? Or does anyone have another suggestion? I'm open
to suggestions today.

...Bare ground in Muncie....Snow all melted....Wasn't that much to start with but now it's completely bare grass we look out to....If season is anyway as it shoud be I will be thinking about mowing in about a month and a half....But first I must jerk the wheels off the John Deere and have new tires installed....Hope I get that accomplished and not put it off and get behind the mowing task as that time rolls around.....41.4 degrees here now at 8:40 am....Sun is trying to break through but we have some light clouds.

yep we're here had to make some changes in the schedule and matt can still go learn at pre-school. mother nature is throwing some changes and mamma gets to go on another shift next week. hope she shows them how to do things right.

Good morning, everyone. Looks like I'm all by my lonesome in here, this
morning. That's all right, though. Got the CD on, listening to John Denver's
"Daddy, What's a Train?" That's a really good CD of train songs.

Coffee is on, juice is made, and I'm making up a batch of buttermilk biscuits.
We'll have the usual breakfast items: turkey bacon, sausage, gravy, and there's
some oatmeal cooking on the stove. That'll be ready in about 2 minutes. Then,
I'll start scrambling the eggs.

Sure hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day yesterday. Carl, congrats on
reaching the over 100 miles on your bike.

Randy, thank you for cleaning up the rest of the dishes.

Good evening/morning everyone.....

Was 53 here in the Mad City this afternoon, almost didn't need the jacket on my way to work, had the window rolled down in the truck. Too bad it's supposed to be 13 for a high on Friday.[V][V] Thursday could get ugly around here, predicting 5 to 9 inches of snow, sleet, and freezing rain, then the winds pick up. Could be an interesting day at work Thursday.

Speaking of work, been a little slow at work the past few days, yesterday the roof crew on one of the lines found out that the wrong top rail had been installed on a trailer. Of course, this happened AFTER they put the roof on[banghead][banghead]. Only took them about five hours or so (by my clock) to change out the top rails and roof (read: expensive mistake!!). That Murphy fellow is one he** of a guy. I guess it was first shift's mistake.

Found some leftovers, CW, and cleaned up the dishes they were on. Hopefully be back in here around 1PM. See everyone later.

With the bike trip to work today, I'm now over 100 miles for the year. My thermometer at work read 59 today; they were giving the official O'Hare temperature as 56 at the same time.

It's still 41, at nearly 1:00 a.m. But I've had enough for today. I'll probably not be back here before tomorrow evening--I mean, this evening. I hope everyone was made happy by his or her valentines--I know I was!

CW -Extra potatos in stock? I make a killer potato salad and on special occasions will make the mayo myself. Olive oil helps offset the artery clogging egg yolks.

60+ in the Rockford area today. Almost set up the lap top to meet clients on the picnic table under the tree in the back of the parking lot. Didn't have a long enough extension cord for the printer.

Never got to the bicycle, my wife shanghaied me into being chauffeur for her and a visiting employee from one of our company's satellite locations down in Pomona. She's up here for two weeks, although she doesn't like to travel and left three kids back in Pomona, so we took her over to our favorite mall and are planning to give her a more extensive tour of the area this weekend.

Supper tonight in the Diner will be: fried pork chops with mashed taters &
gravy, green peas with carrots. Have some biscuits made up and in the oven.
They'll be ready in about 15 minutes.

Dessert tonight: No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal cookies. Made a double batch
of them for the Diner patrons and any guests we might have come in tonight.

I went home briefly at lunch, and now I have no desire to do much more here at work, as it's sunny and 58 degrees. So, I think I'll return home and clean up the leftover fall leaves in the yard- or maybe even imitate Carl and get my bicycle out!

This is a respectable family dinning establishment we do not carry any alcoholic drinks. Frankly this is down home country cooking at its finest. I think you will have to go to some fancy smancy, high fluting, big city, way over priced, waiter only, nose in the air, restaurant for your tofu.


Now, the Fritos pie I made didn't have lettuce or tomatos. The cheese sauce was just generic rotele (now that does have some tomatoes) and generic Velvetta. Throw your Fritos on a plate or in a bowl, pour on some chili and top it off with the cheese dip. The best tasting, artery clogging, meal you can have. [;)] [:p] [:D] Add a few chili cheese hot dogs and what a meal. We just use the same chili and cheese dip for the hot dogs, best chili cheese dogs you will ever have, simple and filling and very good.


I am on a crusade today. Hopefully I can share it with you later. It might be another controversy in the making but you know how I am. If it involves the youth I stand up for them. This issue will be the little guys against the www. Wish me luck.

....Don't know the exact temp here now...{sun shining on temp. sending unit}, but it must be in low 40's....and clear blue sky, bright sun. Ran my truck through the car wash and stopped by the License Branch and now have new drivers license for the next 3 years.....Used to be for six and cost half as much.

Haven't seen her, Carl. And I've checked all her hiding places!! Certainly hope
that neither she nor Driver are sick.

Got some nice iceberg lettuce, potatoes, red sweet peppers, oranges, orange
juice and green beans at Produce today. Except I didn't pick up a bag of the
potatoes when I left. Have two bags in the fridge: a bag of red potatoes, and a
bag of white potatoes.

Maybe the lunch special will bring out our favorite kitty person: tuna casserole,
with green beans and potatoes on the side. And if I remember to go get a bag
of sugar, there'll be some No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal cookies for dessert.

How does meat loaf sound for supper, you all? Thinking about fixing that for
supper.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone! Well, we've got a temp of 33 outside this a.m., and
supposed to get up to 50 today. But then Saturday and Sunday, highs in the low 30s.
Yuck!!

Breakfast this morning: on the warmer bar, you'll find:
turkey bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, ham, oatmeal, and toast.

As today is Produce Day, I'm hoping we get something other than potatoes. Think
I've got potatoes running out my ears!! Wi***hey'd bring some onions. They haven't
brought onions for three months!!

Lunch today will be the regular lunch menu: burgers, hot dogs, fries, grilled cheese,
and tuna salad sandwiches.

Amtk200, if my memory serves me correctly (and anyone can correct me if
I'm wrong), Frito pie is made when you open a can of chilli (no beans), and
pour them over a layer of Fritos in your pan or casserole dish. Then, after it's
baked in the oven, you top it with diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce.

Thanks CW for that I was always wonder what that one was. Good Dinner tonight by the way. Nothing much has been going on lately with me just busy with School Work and all of that, almost half way thru the Quarter.
