Tree: [:I] But then Mooks isn't particular - she will sample off anyone's plate!

Joe won't probably see this, but I miss hearing from both Matt and Joe. Hope he hurries and gets replugged.

Driver sez the weather, which I seem to have missed due to checking backs of eyelids for holes - is predicting a doozy of a snowstorm this weekend. So I may take Monday off and check the easy chair out for comfort. Got a blanket all ready to go!

Tree - hear you will get something today - not sure what - but supposed to be a light version of everything west of you. Also heard Northern Minn got a foot of snow. Ah, just the perfect place for it!

Went to train watch for a few min yesterday - they are doing a Mudchicken project - drainage, drainage, drainage. Either they are burying a lot of rock to help with that, or they are digging for a lost SW10.

Heading for the "cof" syrup....

Moo...

Good Tuesday morning. Well, this morning, we have an outside temp of 37 degrees.
"What a difference a day makes!" About 20 something degree difference from yes-
terday morning. At least the rain is out of here, for now. Talking about a little bit
of snow later in the week.

Well, getting ready for the people to come ring the doorbell to sign up for the Produce
this morning. So I've got breakfast on the warmer bar: turkey bacon, sausage, sausage
gravy & biscuits, oatmeal, toast, scrambled eggs.

Everyone have a great day, and I'll check back with you in a little while.

The wierd part is the cold wind coming out of the South West. That is the wind that usually carries the warm. Maybe I really am in an alternate universe. Scary.

Glad everyone made it through the rocky weather - Was watching Weather Channel this weekend, looked like both Mookie and Mutt/CW would get hammered. Weatherman promised us thunder today, but he lied. 10:30 PM and the stars are out. This does seem to be our year for wind, though - another wind warning kicks in at 2 AM. Just got the few shingles that I lost in the last storm replaced...

Mookie - don't know whose chicken that was that you ate this morning, but our BBQ isn't until next Sunday... I'll leave a dish, as promised...

MC - Look for some miltary type equipment headed your way - three trains worth headed for CA. Drop me a line and I'll fill you in...

OK, bedtime snack out of the way - gotta work tomorrow - better head for the ol' waterbed...

Interesting weather here, too. It started raining about midnight last night, and we got half an inch. I had to drive to work this morning in very thick fog, but it was all gone by the time we had our meeting and were actually ready to hump cars (the night boys hadn't turned a wheel for a good four hours, and we made up for that, I think!). Between 7:00 and 8:00 the temperature shot up from the upper 40s to 61 degrees, then from 9:00 a.m. on it's been dropping (now at 32), with strong winds, including at least one 55-mph gust.

A burger sounds great about now. Haven't had any supper yet.

The burgers and fries are now ready. Even got some cheese melted for pour
over the fries.

We got another semi-heavy shower about 1 1/2 hours ago; now, the sun is shining.

Josie,
That kind of being "carried away",is okay;just make sure it's not
the other kind,as being "carried away" by fast moving water !!

Mook;you're right,I'm not sure how you do even look at that bowl,
let alone eat from it.[(-D] [:-,]
At least mine has a picture of a railroad engine on the bottom of it !![swg]

Joe; hope you can get things up and running again soon,CW's right,we do
miss you around here.
Hope your alls high water isn't like what's going on over in southern In.,there
are several small "bergs" pretty much cut off from everywhere else due to
the high water. On our side of the Ohio,'bout all we've gotten are the token
underpasses that always flood when it rains hard;and believe it or not,I've not
heard of any idiots trying to drive through one of them this time;very unusual !!

Joe, glad to know you all are all right. We missed you this morning. Hope everything
gets fixed soon.

Think we'll have a "small" supper tonight: I'll fry some hamburgers, w/sauteed onions,
and make a home made tarter sauce for the burgers. If anyone wants, I'll also put
a slice of cheese on a burger, and melt it for you. We'll also have plenty of fries, and
I'll make sure to melt some cheese to put over the fries for those of you who like
cheese fries.

Yeah - you heard me -

Besides my dish is pink - and ain't no dog or Mutt that would want to eat out of a pink dish! With bluebirdies on it! And pretty yellow flowers! And Mudchicken's picture in the bottom!

Come to think of it, maybe I don't want to eat out of it either!

Mookie, haven't heard from or seen Joe this morning. Hope they're all right in NW
Ohio.

Josie, so very sorry to hear about your doggie. Hope she gets well soon.

Lunch today: choice of beef vegetable soup, or beef stew, with plenty of cornbread;
if you don't want any cornbread, I've got some PB&J and tuna sandwiches made
up.

Hi you all!

CW can I please have some coffee? Thanks...guess it's Monday.

Sigh[:(] My puppy (well she's a year and a half) is sick. I took her to the vet this morning, but they're not sure what's wrong.

Sure can get attached to the furry things (I know Mookie, it's a dog, but she's a good dog).

We thought she'd stayed out playing in the rain too long, but it looks like it's more than that.

Enough, howz it goin with everyone elses?

Once again bright sun and 50+, but the thermometer is heading south fast. Overcast, then rain, then snowshowers this afternoon. Had heavy storms all around us last night. Tornado warning was up, but no word of anything around here. We had a short period of heavy rain and then lighter rain and drizzle a good part of the night.

Hope everybody checks in OK.

Ah - I am feeling a little better CW - thanks for coffee.

Can't seem to shake the "cof"....lungs still not working quite 100%, but getting there.

For all of you interested - remember, we live in the land of "no weather". Had call from De Nephew in Calif, worried that he would have to come back to NE and process the will. Told him, no - we had very little of anything. A little hail, a little moisture, but nothing more than 10 min tops on either. Up north - they had Xmas all over again. You must remember that during a storm you hide in a hole - and we hide our whole city in a hole all year round. We let everything go to Omaha and Iowa - all higher than we are.

Ah - BBQ for breakfast - that is so yummy! Thanx Tree.

Where is Joe? Need him to hold my oj for me.

More "cof" syrup and another nap in the hammock. At least this way, I am quiet and stay out from under foot!

morning: having trouble getting going. Don't you just hate Monday mornings at
times?

Good morning all! Hope everyone survived the weather over the weekend.
Saw some video of the flood waters on our local news last night. Even
saw a couple of old steam engines surrounded by water in Southern Ind.
last night. They have got water everywhere![:(]

Breakfast this morning: biscuits with sausage patties, oatmeal, cinnamon
toast. Not quite awake enough this morning, to fix a big breakfast.

Well, at least you don't have to worry about tornadoes at the moment. Sounds like one is headed Jay's way according to weatherbug, and it's going to be a rough night for southern and southeast WI.

Actually left the truck off the block heater for most of the weekend, but plugged it back in tonight for the colder weather, supposed to have lows in the 20s all week.

I'm just weird, Mudchicken, the son of a dairy farmer, and I don't care for beef or dairy products. I'd rather take chicken instead, but without the mud.

Chicken and dumplins sound awsome, thanks!

The rain came through here last night...all night. From the sound of it I thought we'd need a boat this morning.

But today is beautiful...turned the heat off in the house (hopefully, but doubtfully, for the last time this year).

Afternoon everyone.....

No rain yet today, sky is just cloudy after a sunny start this morning. Only in the mid 40s right now, got up to 60 or so yesterday, but had severe T-storm warnings at about eight last night. Took a long drive in the truck today to get everything nice and hot in the engine, hopefully got rid of a lot of contaminants in the oil, but it's getting close to needing to be changed again anyway.

CW, both items on the menu sound delicious for tonight, I may just have to sample both of them! [dinner]

See everyone later.

Jim, have a safe trip to Missouri, and a safe trip back to North Little Rock.

Right now, the rain has stopped, and we just have cloudy skies. But, the
rain is to start back up later on, late afternoon, early evening. Already sick
of the rain, even though I know we need it. Temp is somewhere in the mid
to upper 60s.

Sunday Dinner tonight will be your choice of a brocolli and chicken casserole
with a cheese sauce, or you can have a big bowl of dumplings & chicken.

Hello One and All [^]

My neighbor said we hit over 80 yesterday. We are mid 70s now with cloudy skies and some clouds. Thunderstorms are on tap for this afternoon and evening. At least one tornado was reported on the ground last night in western Arkansas.

I don't think there is any doubt that Spring is here. [;)] I need a can of wasp spray already. I took the fly swatter after one this morning but missed. [:(!] HOW do they get so BIG so QUICK [?] [?] [?]

I am leaving Monday morning for a quick trip to Missouri. I will be back Wednesday afternoon.

That MUST be what it is,'cause here it's very cloudy, been thundering rather
loudly and definiftely raining (almost the proverbial cats & dogs !)

Time to just sit back, read the paper, and enjoy a large cup of coffee,or Mocha.
Don't imagine much railfanning,or much else for that matter will get done today.[:(]
