Good morning, all! Joe, thank you for starting the coffee, making the juice,
and also, thank you for the cinnamon rolls. Sunday brunch will include some
more cinamon rolls, sausage, turkey bacon, and pancakes.

Switch8frg, glad you all are doing well out there in Arizona. Sorry to hear
about the cookie problem. We all have to clean those cookies every once in
a while, so they don't mess up our 'puters.

Switch8frg,send me an emaill address and I'll send you a few pictures of the
aftermath of that fire;naturally they were still there today with 2 aerials operating
"ladder pipes" with a couple of engines supplying them and monitor nozzles
knocking down the "hot spots". That building was about 2 blocks wide,1 block
in depth and one portion was three stories tall,so you can imagine that there's
plenty of debris that will need cooling down for a day or two at least !!

At least they didn't still have their hose lines across the tracks today,so we
managed to see some rail action right there also.[:)]

[#welcome] to the "Diner" james saunders !! Hope you enjoy your stay, the food
and the conversation. Really aren't any rules per se',except DON'T MIFF THE CAT
OR THE COOK !!!!
(no alcohol here either) You're welcome to drop in anytime,
as there is almost always some one here. (there are a few more regulars on weekdays,
weekends can be a bit slow)

espeefoamer;if you're ever in the military, green eggs are the norm;beings that's how the "powdered" eggs look;but I'm with you on the GREEN HAM ,NEVER !![xx(]

AMTK200;hope you do have a good day for railfanning, and not "breezy" like it was here
yesterday. That's one of the reasons the firefighters had so much trouble with the fire
that CW mentioned;they had to hold several engine companies back for roving patrols
checking on "firebrands" and other burning debris.
We hope to get out ourselves after a few, to do some more railfanning today.

Good morning, all. Man, did we have a "hot time in the old town" last night. We had
a major fire here last night. A three story warehouse caught fire. Ended up
being a six-alarm fire. They had not only off duty firefighters called in, but a lot of the
suburban fire departments came to man the urban fire houses in case something
came in for those areas. The fire even showed up on radar, because the smoke
was going up about 1, 2,000 feet up into the air. Firefighters will be there for several
days, still, taking care of the hot spots. The only injury was a firefighter who strained
something while using his axe. The Louisville area hasn't had a fire this bad in
about 35-40 years. This fire was in the area where Mutt, Sarah and I were at
yesterday afternoon. We actually passed by that building. It's been unoccupied
for at least two years.

Saturday brunch is laid out on the breakfast warmer bar: turkey bacon, sausage,
sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, toast, pancakes on on the menu this morning.

Everyone have a great day, and be sure to be back here by about 6 EST for the
Saturday night pizza fest.

Juice please- can't hang around this morning, it's too nice out. I think I'll get my bicycle out and see if I can get some good local shots of the Dubuque-to-CR CNIC local- it parallels a new bicycle trail we have going through town. Later!

There's still some corned beef and cabbage left for supper. We also have
meat loaf w/potatoes & onion, and shelly beans with taters.

The three of us went out for a couple of hours this afternoon. Went to Union
Station, and showed Sarah around there. Even saw a train while we were
there. All of us had a great time! But man, were my knees and feet hurting
after we got back home!

It was pretty much a joke around here, I think the plows went through once, and the rest melted. Got maybe three inches out of it. By the time i went to work, it was just wet roads, didn't even need the four wheel drive.

Hmmm...... The Diner must be having open mic day today......

After last night's fiasco at work, I'm glad today's Friday. We started out being told that line 2 needed 16 UPS trailers, then at break, they revised the numbers downward.... A LOT!! Seeing as we had already shoved through 12 in the almost three hours previous, we left it at that and tried to figure out how to make the seven suspensions needed for line one last another five hours or so. Managed to do that, fill the line, and prep parts needed for next shift, and still left at one-thirty. Sounds like next week the top management is making them do eighteen a night with no exceptions, which means there will be many people working on UPS untill four or five in the morning, and I will not be one of them.

No one around our family from Ireland, so we don't celebrate, but corned beef is on the menu for Sunday.

Weatherman missed by 4-5 inches here, so didn't need Randy's truck anyway. May have been worse to the north. R, you there?

Temp is right around the freezing mark and the sun is doing a good job of getting the driveway cleared, at least up to the shadow lines.

Green has always been my favorite color, but not an unnatural green on (in?) foods.

I'll make an exception for (Diet) Green River, though! You'll just have to settle for a green tongue instead of the fur, though, SJ!
