I think this was a Readers Digest "column filler" in some long-ago issue:

Photo lab has negative of dog submitted for a print. Dog appears green in finished print. Lab figures it's a bad exposure, so toys with the settings until the dog appears an odd tan. Customer is irate. Dog had been dyed green...

Then there was the college instructor I had (who was also a village justice), who liked to "spice" up meals, like purple mashed potatoes. Especially fun if the kids had friends over...

I'm not exactly Irish myself,(ancestors are from that area of the world 'tho.) but it really
makes a very good meal.
And please make sure that as you are doing laundry and washing dishes at the same
time,try not to get things confused.(you know;dishes in the clothes washer,clothes in the
dish washer.)

Reminds me of a story - During my time in the Air Force I was stationed in one unit whose mission involved mostly travel. When we were in station and weren't either closing up the last trip or getting ready for the next, we built radio equipment racks.

Years ago when I worked in a nice restaurant the chef made green whole potatoes to go with the cooked cabbage. The lounge did have green beer on tap. I can pass on all of that stuff.

I had a nice surprise this morning. Yesterday I was checking the Hostas garden thinking that anytime I might see some sticking their head out of the ground. Well, this morning I did. [^] [;)] [:D] I have 2 or 3 plants already making for the sky and I am sure that within a week, those that survived the summer and winter will be joining them. I need to get some slug and snail bait. I used so much of it last year that I ran out.

Well it is Friday for some and Tuesday for me. [B)] I will be the one flying around the trains dropping the dust on them. [;)] [:o)] [8D]

I have some laundry going and need to do some dishes before lunch time so I better getting going.

Brian - Lefse is so good - what's not to like? Just Norway's answer to what shall we do with the leftovers from last nite.

I only visited Wisconsin once for a week - gained 10 pounds - fresh blueberries and CREAM, gravy made with CREAM, coffee with CREAM, muffins with BUTTER, let's put BUTTER and CREAM in those taters....to die for - literally!

This is 'way too early for me to be up.

Chicago had its big St. Patrick's Day parade last Saturday. And, as usual, the Chicago River flowed green (if indeed it flows at all!). The cardinal of the Chicago Archdiocese had granted a dispensation so that Irish Catholics may eat corned beef during Lent.

Chicken is all seasoned (700 halves - plenty for everyone) and all the other fixins are ready (well, we'll pick up the rolls on Saturday), so the annual St Patty's Chicken Barbeque at the FD is ready to go! (And no, the chicken isn't green - I hope! It wasn't when we seasoned it!)

In the meantime, I'll have one of those green frosted donuts.

Joe, thank you for putting the coffee on, and making the juice. Matt did a great
job of setting out the green napkins, I see. And those shamrock pancakes are
great.

For lunch and supper today, there will be corned beef and cabbage.

I do have a shamrock cake mold. Will have to start baking a cake, and put some
of the batter in the shamrock mold, and put it on top of the cake. It will be ready
by lunchtime.

Mookie, I do eat some green veggies: lima beans, peas, green beans, and
spinach. [:D]

well everything came together last night.the concert was the toledo symphony orchestra at founders hall at sauder village.they played a variety of music and even some riverdance for St. Patricks day.everything is white outside now but soon it will be back to green.im getting the juice and coffee ready and a special citrus cooler juice for today(sorry no green beer here).I even got a mold for the pancakes to make shamrockcakes.so give us a couple minutes and they'll be coming right up.Matt hand out the green napkins please.

But I did not do to badly with my air brake bus in the snow But anywho tomorrow was tenically the start of my weekend but then I vounltered to work as standby driver but I guess it's ok cause the more I work the better of a driver I become. The chilli is ready for lunches. Did go ahead and make another pot of mild
chilli. Also have grilled cheese sandwiches to go with the chillli.

Now, for supper tonight, we'll have meatloaf, and choice of sides: shelly beans w/
potatoes & onion, or you can have spinach and mashed taters. We'll also have
deviled eggs.

Dessert will be grape or strawberry Jell-O w/Cool Whip.

Not even going to start on the state of schooling in, at least, the USA. Too hard on blood pressure!

sorry to hear about the situation.alot of grants and scholarships only cover so much and its based on a time schedule.not only that if a college kid has a part time job to pay for school and can't get their classes I'd be upset too. I am very busy lately. A bunch of students want to protest the strike because it is blowing their semester. There was cause for concern about a location of where the protest was to be held so there was some legal issues of who owned the property. I had to step in and use my authority to defer the vote until I consulted the city solicitor and the police department on the property and regulations to be followed when picketing.

After the meeting I went to the Fallsview Casino with some friends because I never been to a casino before. I almost won the jackpot 3 times. Darn machine-I find out later that the jackpot is worth $1 million-hehehehe. Oh well-only lost $5.

Spring is definately here, today is cloudy, breezy, and not hot/not cold. Next week is Spring Break for many of the school around here. I hope they enjoy it.

Well today is Monday again. Man, it sure rolls around quick. [:(] I guess that happens because I have 2 weekends every week, the real one, and my weekend. [B)]

Good morning, everyone. Looks like I slept late again. That happens when you
stay up well past your normal bedtime.

Breakfast is ready: we've got fried taters, biscuits, sausage, turkey bacon, sausage
gravy, Got another pot of coffee going, and the juice is ready.

Not sure what the outside temp is; But we're supposed to have rain, off & on most
of the day.

Joe, you may need to bring in Sunflower, since our dog seems to not be doing
her usual job on the dishes (lol).

Glad everyone liked the chilli last night. Have plenty more for lunch today.
Mostly the medium and the five alarm chilli. Do I need to make another
pot of the mild chilli?
