Morning all.....
Had some rain and thunderstorms last night, weather radio was going nuts again, but today has dawned nice and sunny, forecast high is to be about 80.
Have fun with the remote start, Chris, I'll bet you'll find you need to be a contortinist to reach a few things. Worked on Western Star semis that were like that, some work had to be done by feel only, stuff was buried so deep in the dashboard.
Will be in tonight for dinner, after sitting at the poker table for most of this afternoon, trying to get more points.

blhanel wrote:Good morning all, pleasant weekend here with my folks visiting. One thing that I just figured out that I was doing wrong on my recent pictures (including the one I showed off yesterday) was that I had the white balance on my Digital Rebel set to compensate for Flash (oops)- thus all the outdoor train shots look blue, especially the lower-light ones as the more-knowledgable members here have probably already noticed. Anyhoo, since I've figured out what's wrong, do one of you experts (CopCarSS, fuzzybroken, etc.) know some standard corrections in Photoshop that I could make to make these shots look normal? I guarantee that all future shots will be much better, now that I'm smarter. Maybe I should start a new thread for this?
Brian, if you were shooting RAW, you can adjust the WB to whatever you like via any RAW conversion software. If you shot stright to JPG, it's a little more difficult, but still not too bad. I guess before I start giving any suggestions, what version of PS are you using? I'm not sure about the Rebel, but on my D60, the flash setting is actually not too far away from daylight settings (most strobe flashes are within 100-200º Kelvin of neutral daylight if I'm remembering correctly), so you shouldn't have too much of a correction.
If you want, drop me a line, and I'll see if I can be a little more specific with my help. BTW, where are the pictures at so I can take a look?
Meanwhile, I went chasing 844 after church last night. That's always a lot of fun, though I was a little upset with my photographic endeavours. I'll let you all read about that in the thread I posted about it. Was going to head up to the Loop today, but I have a cousin that wants to install a remote start on his car. So, I get to spend the afternoon reading wiring diagrams for a Honda, and finding just how inaccesible they make tapping into the wiring of the beast. Fun!
BTW, stopped in late last night for a bit of Pizza in the fridge. Excellent as always CW!
Well, I guess I had better be on my way. Have a couple errands to run before I tackle the remote start, and then have to pick up another set of cousins at DIA. Hope you all have a great day!
TTFN!

Good Sunday morning from totally ridiculous hot Sacramento, CA, where it's 82° F. outside as I type this. I know it's going to be at least 107° F. today.
(Grabs a big glass of lemonade with ice)

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
And I missed the pizza. I hope maybe there was some leftovers. I can eat some when I get up on Sunday afternoon. We had to settle for Frisch's tonight. Can't beat a Big Boy sandwich.I went to a card party tonight; Euchre tournament. The rest of my family went to the Reds game. They did manage to win, though. I enjoy playing the cards with the family, so I skipped it.
Our uncle (wife's side) is being sent to Saudi Arabia in 2 weeks, so the little party was for him. This just isn't a good time to be going over there. There's just way to much going on.
Everyone have a great Sunday.
Thanks, CW for the pizza. Just send me over the leftovers.
Brian (KY)
Well lets see I'm comming in here a bit late but I think I will take that double chesse pizza and a sprite CW.
GUESS WHAT?? It's going to be morning soon here on the East coast! I think that's about all I'm going to say tonight because, I don't know what else to say, I must be a bit tired. lol
Well, .........................I'm off to bed...just as soon as I finish my pizza.

Good evening from totally ridiculous hot Sacramento, CA, where it's 110° F. outside as I type this. And you wonder why I have a 44-ounce cup of Slurpee on my desk right now....
(grabs several slices of supreme topping pizza)
Joe, I forgot to mention that we picnicked near a B&O diamond on our way up to Michigan. Willowcreek. Had one train go through while we were there, though Pat saw another one headed toward there after we left.
And for SJ: a couple of your younger relatives took very good care of me while I was up there--I'll wear the scratches from those cute, cuddly, little spitfires for days to come.
Right now we're under five distinct weather advisories. Might not be able to bike tomorrow--good thing I broke 1200 today.
Still missing.

Well Carl, I'll be out grabbing a couple evening shots of the 8444 short one of it's 4s tonight. Not the one you were talking about...but it's there sort of in spirit.
MC, thanks for the warning. Will watch myself tomorrow morning. I'm planning on being up there pretty early, and leaving well before noon (not a big fan of shooting during high sun this time of year). Hopefully I should be able to avoid some of the traffic up there with that travel philosophy. Hope everything works out with Andy. Been awhile since I've had a four legged friend at home (my Mom stole my last one...chihuahua named Chiquito...that's a long story), but I know how attached I got.
As I'll be out looking for 844 tonight, I probably won't make the pizzafest. CW, if you could throw something in the fridge, I'd be ever so grateful.
Well, must be on my way. Have to cantor at church, and then go scouting for a certain Northern. Hope you are all having a great weekend!
Thanks, Joe--the one I'm waiting to see for myself is UP 8444! See how many old-timers we can trip up by reporting sightings of that one.
(Gee, maybe that should be the UP heritage unit, in black and gray!)
we'll take what pizza you got.carl you got UP 8460 coming back your way.

Afternoon all - It's a little damp here in the northeast, but that's OK. Hopefully nobody's event will get totally rained out. I'm a little concerned with the rainfall totals they're showing for the Mohawk valley, but that's not here.
Daughter is joining fiance's family on the shore this week. I think I've mentioned I'm watching her dog. Anybody know how to shut off a Dalmatian's alarm clock? He's set for 6 am and there's no denying him... At least I got the lawn mowed before it rained.
I'd compliment Brian on his shot, but all I'm seeing is a red X.
OK - off to other projects. I'll try to get back for the pizza.

Good Morning All
MC, so sorry to hear about Westie. When they are sick it is no fun. They may be animals to some, but to some of us they are like children.
Duchess is doing some better today. She is eating, however little and picky, but seems to have more energy today than yesterday. She has ceased throwing up after 2 to 3 days of it and now can hold down water.
We had several cold fronts come through last night. The first one did nothing but hide the sun for about an hour. The second one dropped tons of rain but unfortunately it came down so fast and the ground was so hard that most of it was runoff. It started after dark and dropped the temps a bunch. My grass did get some benifit more it and is now somewhat a color of green. It is amazing how quickly brown, dead grass can come back to life.
Two days to go until my trip to Missouri. It certainly will be nice to get away for the week. I will be back Friday afternoon and at work on Saturday.
I hope everyone is well.
Everyone Take Care
Good morning everyone!
Alas, it's supposed to hit around 110° F. in Sacramento today. Good thing I still have 2/3 of my pitcher of ice tea still left!
I'm tempted to spend this evening in a cool shopping center for a change.
By the way, I request a Supreme pizza as usual.
Back to routine today.
Cool morning, first trip on bike since Wednesday.
good morning .juice coffee and lemonade are ready to go.Brian nice picture.matt and i had to go to the store for mamma after a quick trip to deshler.we did a gentlemenly good deed by holding the door open for 3 ladies going in to the store. we were rewarded by a 2 csx trains almost meeting non stop at the south end of defiance near the old wabash/B&O crossing.engine 7509 was in charge of the 508 headed for toledo.hes been through defiance alot the past week.
Chris: Just did the Denver to Paonia to Delta and back to Denver thing. Be VERY careful between the I-70 tunnels and Idaho Springs on your way to Georgetown/Silver Plume. (Out at 5AM and back at 10 PM, severe case of roadbutt)...
We got Andy, the 17 year old Westie (White guy in the avatar) back from the vet yesterday. He is dealing with Cushing's Disease and maybe too many steroids from the Vet's earlier medications. Poor guy is the antithesis of Barry Bonds - no energy, weak (staggers around) and overly tested. We have to keep a good eye on him, help hold him up so he can eat and drink as well as direct him to the doggie door..Changing the I-V from gatorade to diet Jolt for the weekend.
Brian nice picture.
Well I am sorry that I didn't stop in here for the Venison burgers, and steak, I would of loved that!! I haven't had any venison since last hunting season! I NEED SOME MORE!! That is why I can't wait until hunting season comes again, it's not too long for that one.
As CW and Mutt have said we had a major thunder storm. CW and I watched the Lighting show, it was NEAT!!! The storm also cooled things down a bit which was nice.
Huh, just a touch dead in here tonight, everyone must be out and about on this nice night.
Thanks for the fish, CW, was great. See everyone later.
