Yeah, Keith Moon and John Entwistle were a bit off on their prediction, weren't they?
Quick triva Chris- which two bands were unlucky enough to follow Led Zeppelin in concert in 69-70?

Morning/Afternoon everyone.....
Well, finally shut off the AC for the first time in over a week, it's only 70 degrees out, forecast high is 74. Tanks of Gatorade and Squincher are still topped off (I fill them up every night after I get done with work). Not supposed to get above 80 untill Monday which is figuring into my theory that every time I go to my parents, it get's hot.
Was a news story yesterday on what the mayor of Madison was going to do about the annual Halloween party, the plan this year is to close off the street, charge five bucks a head, and limit the crowd size to 50,000. Talked with a friend of mine at work, we came to the conclusion that this would fly like a lead balloon, but we never go there anyway, we'll just have to see what happens.
See everyone later.

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.
We are going to have a cool down today, the high temp is only going to be 101 with a heat index of 110. Tomorrow and Sunday we might have to break out the long sleeve shirts as we are dropping down into the 90s.
I think someone else is sneaking into the diner late at night and eating the Mississippi Mud Ice Cream Pies. But with temps in the 100s I can't blame them.
I have 3 working days until a five day vacation to Missouri.
Duchess is sick and throwing up all over the floor. By the time she lets me know she needs to go out I don't have time to get her outside. I am not a happy camper.

Everyone Take Care

been busy.will take some muffins with us after a nap.going to check that new diamond in Deshler.
Lots of weather here last night. Was driving back from Syracuse after picking up my daughter's Dalmatian (they're headed for the Jersey shore via Sarah's home territory) and hit rain coming down so hard that it was 30 mph and 4 ways on the interstate...
Of course it was still dry at the house. Took care of that at 2 am - 6/10ths of an inch of rain in an hour, plus all the usual fireworks. I understand it took the phones out (mine's VoIP).
Usually my dog has issues with thunder, but having the Dal around (he's deaf - "Thunder? I don't hear no stinking thunder!") and unfazed by the storm apparently led her to believe it was alright, and she slept peacefully, albeit next to me on the bed, throughout most of the storm.
More storms forecast for today, but that's fine. I've got to call on my friend the farmer to bale the lawn anyhow...
It is my Friday, though, and I'm skipping working on the railroad this weekend, so maybe I can get it mowed yet...

Morning All,
It's Friday! (well, excluding people like Jim who have an altered schedule...sorry Jim). There was much rejoicing. I'm still trying to decide on Sunday plans. Saturday is a bit busy with errands and cantoring duties at church. Sunday's possibilities involve climbing Quandary Peak, tackling a new trail with lots of waterfalls on the SE side of RMNP, heading out on the Moffat Line for some railfanning, heading up to the "Loop" (the railroad...not the downtown area of Chicago), or perhaps a combination of some of the above. I guess I'll just have to see how the mood strikes me Sunday.
Mutt, let me know how you like Lightroom, or if there's anything I can do to help you learn it (though I'm still learning it myself...so I'm not sure how much help I can be).
Well, I suppose I must be on my way. Hope you all have a great day!
TTFN!

You know these "threads for everybody" are getting way out of hand.
Now for a piece of that Mississippi Mud Ice Cream Pie.
I hear the bed calling. Good night all.

It is now 105 °F. outside as I type this.
I'm glad I made a big pitcher of iced tea last night, because I'm going to need it!

Evening All,
Well, got some thundershowers rolling through right now, and the temp has definately taken a refreshing drop today. Rain is always greatly appreciated, but alas...I think the Springs got more of that today.
Caught the Rocky Flats job both inbound and outbound today. Had a couple patched DRGW geeps, spliced by an SP non-patched geep (sorry didn't get numbers or models...was a bit too far away). Still, it was a pleasant treat, and kind of fun to take a trip back a couple years.
Joe, you'll have to tell Matt his lemonade is wonderful! Just the way I like it, not too tart or too sweet!
Well, hope you all have a great evening!
will take a plate for work and Thank Goodness its friday!!! matthew made some more lemonade.
Joe
We got about 3/4 inch of rain locally (local--as in our front yard). Almost had a tornado scare at work--wall of clouds looked pretty wicked. Gave UP 1995 a flashy sendoff, back toward Hanel country.
No purring allowed today--have to go up to Michigan (for a funeral) now!
Out (or in--whichever). And still missing.

Now THAT qualifies for the "one of those days" definition in your sig...

Trees down everywhere, rubber duck taking on water.
Afternoon all......
Last night at work could be akin to the 'Bad Day at Black Rock' theme, we were down one guy who called in sick, had to send a welder down to starts to do welding for them, and another welder injured himself bad enough to require a trip to the ER and stitches. We got everything out, but couldn't fill the FedEx line back up before 2:15 am. At least we got overtime out of the deal.
Well, it's only 74 here in Madison right now, high is supposed to be 85, not sure if we'll hit it though, lots of cloud cover. Air is still thick, hopefully will dry out later. Stay cool everyone.
hey mookie matt has some cousins that looove to play beauty palor!
