Good Thursday morning! Breakfast is served! We have french toast, belgian waffles, blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, pork sausage links, coffee, orange juice and pineapple juice. We also have cinnamon rolls and some banana bread with plenty of soft butter. Enjoy!!

I thought I'd post these here too since not everyone reads the Lounge. Misty and I went and had a 3d ultrasound on Tuesday so we could see in better detail whether our little guy was definately a little guy or a little girl: he's definately a little guy! Boy is getting big and is starting to look like his papa. July 8th sure is closing in fast.
Dan
Dan, with your wife's due date approaching, I for one am hoping and praying that your child will be born healthy and without any complications for your wife, I think all of us would want that.
Ray
Dan - at least you know what you'll be doing for the next 18 or so years...
Here's another shot of my daughter's youngster:
I'm thinking he's looking a lot like his dad.

French toast and coffee sounds good this morning! Thanx Ray and Joe.
Dan - need to pencil in a little hair for warmth......

Hopefully this gang has caught on to the "Santa Fe French Toast" thread going on at the moment. I can't think of a more appropriate place for it. . . EDIT: to mention it for people who would be interested in it. [Yeah - that wasn't too clear the 1st time. Thanks, Larry, and you're quite right - the SF French Toast should have its own thread.]
- Paul.
It deserves it's own thread. I may have to go out and pick up a few of the ingredients. Already got the powdered sugar and the real maple syrup.
Bergie has been mentioned - I wonder if his new employer would consider a "railroad eating" type sidebar?
Of course, we might just expect to see it added to the menu here now and again.
LOL thanks everyone else for the well wishes. I'll pass 'em on to Aedan and Misty. I'll put Miracle-Gro on him to make sure he gets hair if I need to Mook!
French toast is on our menu. I usually wait for someone to ask for it, as most of the time, I don't have good success with fixing french toast.
I tried four times to post here this morning. Each try, I was typing, had not gotten down to the post tab, and I would get knocked off the forum. Not sure if it was a problem here, or just on our end.
Joe and Ray, thanks for taking care of breakfast this morning. And Ray, since you had such a fine breakfast for everyone this morning, here is today's lunch menu:
1. BLTs w/your choice of fries or tater chips, salad
2. Open-face roast beef sandwiches or turkey sandwiches w/mashed taters, gravy, and salad
3. Hamburgers, or cheeseburgers with fries or onion rings
4. Grilled cheese or tuna salad sandwiches w/fries or onion rings
Everyone have a good afternoon and take care.
Dan - many years ago there was a cute commercial. Little boy visiting a new baby that was asleep in a crib with new mom looking on. The boy studied the baby for a moment and then told the new mom in all seriousness "Too bad you had to get a bald-headed one!"
I loved that commercial!
Dan, very nice pictures of Aedan. But, I'm not too sure about putting Miracle-Gro on him I kind of doubt that Misty would let you try that, and I think you're just teasing us, anyway
Dan hope all goes well for you and Misty.Matt was doing flips before he came out.Larry have a safe trip.We might have visitors on Saturday we might not.Weather man is saying things from partly cloudy to mostly rainy. But hey its friday.Cw 2 blts will work great for work tonight.

Good evening, everyone. Boy, has this been a busy afternoon around here in our household. Walt and Sarah got our outdoor faucet running; I went to the grocery, and fixed a big supper for us here at home. The three of us should sleep pretty well tonight!
Justin, glad your mom is doing better.
Joe, I know you're looking forward to your weekend starting when you get off work in the morning. Enjoy the BLTs tonight.
Our temp got up to the mid 70s today, and it's currently 73 out.
You all have a very good evening, and take care.

Good Friday morning, everyone. We're waking up with a temp of 63 degrees this morning, and some light rain. Supposed to get up to about 75 for a high today. May see some storms or heavy rain within the next couple of hours; then again heavy rain and thunderstorms around 5 p.m.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready. And on the counter this morning: chocolate covered doughnuts, chocolate covered, cream filled doughnuts, chocolate covered vanilla filled long johns, blueberry and strawberry muffins, and apple, peach, raspberry and cherry danishes, bagels and bear claws.
Mookie, your coffee mug is waiting for you, and we'll fill the mug with coffee, as soon as we see you starting to come through the door!!
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, and have a very good morning! Take care.
good morning
had a rainshower this morning but now its nice outside.matt is on time and on the bus.time for a nap then let the trainwatching begin!!
CW - came thru the door and the screen, too. Sorry 'bout that!
Joe - we had rain up until right after The Driver left for work. Now drying off, altho cloudy and the birds and dogs are singing away. Have a robin that seems to be trying out for the Met....
All is right in my world today. Hope you all have the same.
Our morning is a variation of sun and clouds. Nice and moderate temps. Weather people are saying rain by 3 this afternoon. So...as soon as I get off here, I better be thinking of getting out the tractor and do another lawn mowing....It's only been 3 days since last cut, but it's certainly growing fast now....and it's thick and pretty and green.
Have seen Humming birds now since the 1st. of May. But just occasionally at our feeder. I expect more soon.
Everything is really pretty and green now. From our patio door I look out over the fairway beyond our back yard and it's so pretty and refreshing this morning.
Quentin
Thunderstorms on the schedule for this afternoon, but it's just grey right now.
I don't mind driving in the rain, though, especially if I'm headed down to see the new arrival. The family is still working things out. Owen wants to be held (as he has been for the past 9 months - why change?), mom's not getting much rest, etc.
So gramp will give the new parents a brief break this afternoon and take over the holding duties....
I'm so jealous!
Yeah, Mookie, I 'd like to get to hold a newborn baby in my arms again: the last one was three years ago, when my neice had her baby.
Our Friday Fish Fry is now on the warmer bar. We have all the regular fish menu items, and the regular list of desserts.
We're supposed to have the heavy rain, and first round of storms coming through shortly, I thought I'd better get the menu posted for you all. The winds are supposed to be up, too, when one of these storms does come though. I think that won't happen until between 4 & 5; but who knows, it come in early, with this round on its way in.
So you all enjoy your lunch, and enjoy your afternoon. Take care!
Mookie, it would be good to hold a newborn baby again, wouldn't it? Been three years since I held one.
The first round of our Friday Fish Fry is on the warmer bar. All the regular list of fish, and the regular side dishes, with the exception of the cole slaw and salads, which are in the fridge. And the cakes, pies and cobblers are in the dessert cooler.
Got some more rain on its way in, some could be heavy, and have thunderboomers and high winds. You all have a good afternoon, and see you all later on. Take care.
Sometimes I swear there is an echo in the diner.
All have a good one.
spokyone Sometimes I swear there is an echo in the diner. All have a good one.
Good afternoon. It's raining here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and we could end up with a half an inch before the end of the day. I made the trek on foot to one of our local Applebee's restaurants to submit an application for employment, only to find out when I got there that they are closed until early June. I think maybe they are doing some interior remodeling. So I guess I will mail my application to them. I pretty well got soaked by the rain when I walked home though.
I was able to do a little bit of train watching when I left my house within the last hour or so. The Ellis & Eastern Railroad, which is owned by Concrete Materials runs through my neighborhood and their mainline is one block west of my house. They have four locomotivs on their roster, two of them being GP-10's. After rolling through BNSF's yard on the north side of this town, they then cross the Big Sioux River on a bridge which was originally built in 1893 by the Rock Island, before passing through my neighborhood. They were hauling twenty open hoppers filled with I am assuming crushed quartzite, and the load got too heavy for the two GP-10's, #27, #37. I watched #7 come down the line from the south, couple on to #27 and away they went, in the rain of course.
Walt went out a little while ago and checked our rain guage. I had emptied it this morning, from the overnight/early morning rainfall. Then, we had just under a half inch. When he went out and checked we had almost two inches of rain. It has really poured here this afternoon, since about 3:00, 3:15. We're under a flood watch/warning until about 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
I've replaced everything on the warmer bar for tonight's Friday Fish Fry. Everyone enjoy, try to stay dry, if you're in the areas getting this rain/storms, and take care.
