Good morning. CW, I am sorry that you and Mutt have had the miseries, and wish both of you a speedy recovery. I have had a sore neck for some time now, and find it painful to turn to the left, so I can empathize with you. 65 and partly cloudy this morning, no lightning forecast, at least for now. Everyone take care

A beautiful morning here in central Indiana....an now, a bit after noon, it's 80 degrees.  Some puffy white clouds floating by.

Just back from doing some scheduled running and now ready to meet some family and head to lunch.

Mookie and Bob, I've got the chef salads ready.  Are you two finished making the dressing?

I've also fixed some BLTs and fries to go along with the chef salad.  (I know some of you guys need something extra besides a chef salad to fill your tummys!) Wink

Think we're supposed to get up into the low 80s again today.  It looks like a very beautiful afternoon.  Everyone enjoy it!!  Take care, and see you all later.

Well, halfway round the world and it's freakin hot out here.  Not a bad place where I am, just can't really tell the horizon line as the ground dust is the same color as the air dust.  If you look straight up it's a light light blue.

Few superdutys runnin' around, and a few random Jap trucks, but just lots of four banger turbo diesel five speed crew cab funky lookin' ford rangers all over.  I'd stay a lot longer if I could take one of 'em home.

Actually it's closer to 1700, but who's counting?

(I haven't actually counted them, but I've been on a bunch - and the guy who invented the dressing built a big castle here.....)

So if I make the homemade kind - maybe I can get the gate house?

Well, here's the boat entry, where the Boldts met their formal guests:

Or maybe you'd prefer the "playhouse" - also known as Alster Tower.  There was a bowling alley inside...

Well, don't swim.  Afraid of water, so won't boat.  Don't bowl (do play a mean gutter ball game!)  But do like the looks of water, so a small "villa" close to the boat entrance would do nicely.  Not as big as the playhouse - and all on one level, please!

Well folks, it' s just after 9:30 EDT, and I'm just getting back in here.  Hope you all managed to find something for your supper, as it's too late now to be cooking.  (Sarah and I have been out in the yard most of the afternoon and evening, and I'm about ready to go night-night!)  I've definitely had plenty of fresh air today!!

You all have a good evening, what's left of it, and I'll see you all in the morning.  And Adrian, take care of yourself over there in the sandbox, please!!!!!!

Evening all....

85 degrees out right now in Waco, TX, just winding down after a warm day, got in the 90s in Fort Worth.  Have to go a couple more miles to drop off a Miller load, then back to Fort Worth for another load to Waco, then run over to grab a glass load for Milwaukee for Monday (I think).

Got to run the Oklahoma Turnpike system the last two days, while the road itself is pretty good, the service plazas leave a lot to be desired.  Just not much there compared to the eastern toll roads.

Word has it that the bill ending the 55mph limit for trucks in Illinois is now on the govenor's desk, if he signs it, we can do 65 in the state beginning the first of the year.  Here's hoping it passes....

Good luck in the sandbox, Adrian, just watch who you give the lead poisioning to.....

Night, all....

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Hope everyone had a very good night.  I don't recall waking up at all during the night, so guess I had a good sleep.

We've got a temp of 61 degrees now at 6:01 a.m. EDT.  Humidity is supposed to be creeping up today, and we have a slight chance of some pop-up storms this afternoon.  Going for a high in the mid 80s this afternoon.

Randy, sounds like you'll be spending this Memorial Day weekend on the road.  Be very watchful of all the people who will be out on the highways this weekend.

Coffee, juices and hot water for tea are ready.  On the warmer bar this morning:

Bagels, bear claws and our regular assortment of doughnuts, danish and muffins.

Everyone who may be traveling this weekend, to visit relatives, going to cemetaries to pay respect to the veterans and family members, please be careful, and come back next week to us safe and sound.  Just remember the reason we have this long weekend, and the sacrifices our military men and women have made for us to have the freedoms we have.

It's a beautiful day outside, and promises to remain so all weekend!  Of course, the parking lot at work is about empty this morning as many are getting an early start to the weekend.  I heard last night that the camping areas at nearby state parks are already filled to capacity.

Got some stuff to get done this morning, but I'll kick back with tea and a bearclaw for a bit beforehand.

The weekend holds some train trips - it's opening weekend!

Congrats on catching the cat. That's sort of how our Cat Trapper came to us;

or should we have changed it to "Trapped"? Seems he knew about humans

probably better than we did, and decided that a warm place and steady food

was better than life on the street.

Might want to be Extra Careful about putting a piece of chocolate cake out,

you might get a stray from Nebraska! Smile,Wink, & Grin

.....We too will be among the travelers.  Tomorrow morning, headed to the home land of Pennsylvania.  Always head there over Memorial Day time period as our little home town has one of the largest celebrations for the special day.  Memorial services for those who served, etc....

We're a vet too and of course fit right in.  One gets to see so many folks from the home town setting and with all the visitors and so on.

One of largest parades in our Somerset County happens in our little town.  A town that dates to 1778.

Years ago I had the honor of leading said parade with the mayor riding with us in our Corvette....Many years ago.  In my mind, that was serious stuff and think the parade {theamed for the Memorial Day}, occasion was / is very appropriate.  Parade has a long history of decades upon decades....More than 70 years in my memory.

We do wish all who will be traveling...to be careful and to have an enjoying visit, etc....And of course to remember the significance of this  weekend.

^~^ - been busy doing not much this morning.

Tree - your pix are beautiful.  That would be a great place to visit.  Wouldn't want to live there, however, since it would take every day just to keep it clean.  Prefer cozy.  But the location would be great for a hammock and an ice tea....Approve

Looks like most of us are staycationing this weekend.  Driver going to fish at local dam.  Beat the crowd, hopefully.  No camping there.

It is so doggy-quiet this morning.  I woke up 2 neighborhoods at 5 am just lowing the venetian blinds.  Every dog in area went off. (it hit the wooden sill) I think I am on to something.  If they like to hear their dogs bark I will do blinds, garbage and newspaper at 5 every morning.  Repeat as needed.  Right now I can't get a woof out of anyone, so will enjoy the quiet for awhile.

Mutt/Joe - prefer cake on plate, not in cage.  And make it a platter......

Moo.....

Good afternoon, everyone!  Beautiful day out, tough a bit on the very warm, almost hot side outside.  Not much of a breeze blowing, either.  Going to make it a hot time in the ole town for local volunteer fire departments doing roadblocks collecting for the Crusade for Children, which is coming up in a couple of weeks!

On our menu for the rest of the day:  our Friday Fish Fry:  fish choices range from catfish to whitefish, shrimp, scallops, baked clams, and rolled oysters.

Side dishes include:  cole slaw, baked beans, corn on the cob, fries, hush puppies, deep fried battered mushrooms and baked cornbread.

Desserts include chocolate cake, blueberry muffins, blueberry cobbler, cherry cobbler, peach cobbler, pecan pie and yellow cake w/caramel icing.

Mookie, I'm with you:  chocolate cake on a platter sounds like a plan to me!!!!Dinner

Everyone enjoy your meal, have a great afternoon, and take care!!

Okay, guess I do need to go get my eyes examined.  I thought I was on under my screen name, and not Walt's, when I posted the lunch menu/supper menu.  Blush

Anyway, everything's been replenished on the warmer bar for tonight.  The cold dishes are in the fridge (slaw and salads).

Our temp made it up to 87 today, and humidity is back in the weather mix.  You all enjoy supper and desserts, have a good evening, and Joe:  I also hope the Reds do well tonight in the Battle of Ohio.   Looks like it'll  be a warm and muggy night.

Cleaning would be tough - the place gets a lot of company these days - by the tour boat full...
