ok doggy
here is my case....in the best english i can type....
1..i do follow rule G..my paycheck is more importaint then drinking a beer befor work...
2..like i said in the ricky gates post...i feel that he rolled on all rail roaders to save his own ***...or the more i think about it..to be made a political tool for Regons war on drugs...
3... i have smoked weed in the past..befor my years on the rail road..and i woudnt have any problem with tokeing up agin...on my own time...but becouse of the testing that is uses to see if someone has weed in their system...and also the rate that the THC stays in the human body...even if i where to smoke up on my off day..or even on my vacation...i can still be nailed for a positve test up to 30 days later... which goes aginst my views of seporation of work and what i do on my own time....
4... i am for unions... im in a union... and i fight for things that are to help fellow rail roaders..and workers.... i am not affrade to go up aginst managment ....
5..i distrust the UTU becouse of some of thier shadey dealings on past contracts... and the fact that they have turned into tools for the carriers...(RCLs)
so know you know in clear english...
now you can put an end to your personal attacks at my responces that have nothing to do with you...like you did when i told RIX..."WELL SAID"....

ok... how i hope we are on the same page...

I'm talking about this being a forum...a discussion board...not a democratic rally. In here we like to DISCUSS things and not argue and destroy each other.

Union's are crap. They had there time and place.Did any one ever notice that all
the union reps are the dog f**kers and complainers.I was a CAW member for many
years then with management then you have put up even more with all the babies.
Now I work for myself and could not be happier.
CSX if you want to go have a hoot pack it in. Things got way out of
hand and it is to bad that the railways waited until something had to happen.
But thats the only way the railway will ever change things.
I seen many things in my years working for the railway if you dont like it do something
about it.Rule G is here to stay so get over it.

once agin..someone that only reads the words they want to read.......
and as far as your anti union thinking....
you work for yourself now..meaning your managment... managment donst like unions becouse they have to give something to workers.. to get the worker to work... meaning money..benifits....cutting into the bottom line of the amount of money managment makes...
the unions got wages for workers that a man that is carfull of how he spends his money ..can live a comfortable life... as well as benifits.... face it.....if not for the unions.... we all would be working for mimimum wage... as far as your biz goes...im betting you pay your workers more then min wage......or if you are paying minimum wage..im betting your haveing problems getting good help

Shaaadowy dharmon, everyone needs a good alter-ego, don't you agree? Glad I helped you find yours and any time you are near LZ Uplift, drop in and we'll goof on the roof. It's the one with three layers of bags over psp and I will be the one doing free-form percussion on a guitar that somebody smashed up. My buddy Fancher (our only musician) will be playing a trippy guitar and my best friend Hanley (he was Cosby and I was Culp) will be featuring hemp-raspy vocals and wearing shades at night!!!
More about me 'n' Bill Hanley ( we both subscribed to Downbeat Magazine throughout the tour} in a forthcoming monograph or ...dare I say it?...book.
Even then we thought all that roof protection was a good thing. We didn't have to sit on our helmets while the quiet, ticking-bomb letter writers downstairs were ratcheting into their nocturnal deliriae. Was that good Latin or will Kevin come down upon it while I sleep? I guess I'll sleep tight now hoping the scorpions don't bite.
Gerunds are always good this time of the year, and we've got 'em!!!

My morning was starting out pretty well. The sun was just starting to tinge the sky. The birds were waking up singing.

Now I have a mild headache and my eyes are crossed. My metaphors are mixed and the English language just went south. I think Frank Zappa just returned to life - but I am not sure, since I never did care for him.

At least when you people argue back and forth, I can understand it. It may not be pretty, but it makes a little sense. Now, what was the original discussion?

Oh yes - Rule G. Well, seems we have to have some rules to protect some people from some other people. So the problem is?

CSX I have never worked for min wage and I would not expect anyone who
works for me to get paid min wage.
I pay $ 25 per hour or if I need a rider to do a move we do by rail
our rider will get paid around 4000- 5000 plus expenses.10 day trip.
Treat your workers well thats how I see it.
And as as said Unions are stll crap. They were a good thing years ago
now they are a tool for the lazy man to hide behind when they screw up.
That why we paid are union to dues is for them to get us better wages etc,

I guess Unions are a bad idea if you like low wages, no benefits, no say over work hours, no say over work load, time off , no vacation pay, no sick pay, and if you really hate havin a 5 day, 40 hr work week and would just love to go back the them Good Ol' Days of 12 hr shifts 6 or 7 days a week no hloidays and even just speak and get fired days of yesteryear, then Yes, Unions are a bad idea.

Almost everything we take for granted nowadays was fought over and won by Unions.

   Have fun with your trains

Unions were definitely a necessity when they first came about. However, one of the main union organizers in the early days was a gentleman named Eugene Debs. He had a one word motto that has probably caused more ill feelings toward unions than anything else - "More."

Today's unions indeed range from unnecessary to crucial. They do provide a voice for the "common worker," and in that capacity ensure that management doesn't run rampant over labor. On the other hand, union management (an oxymoron?) sometimes seems as out of touch as management. Sometimes even more so.

I'm sure everyone has examples of how a union is/was a good thing or a bad thing. We could run a lengthy thread on the topic (let's not). As long as there are workers who feel they deserve better, there will be unions. If the union and management both keep level heads and negotiate in good faith, then things usually go smoothly. If they are antagonistic, well....

It's true, Although I was beginning to Think Railfix was a nice guy, when he deals me a knife in my back

-oh, how very kind Mr. Railfix.

Now, Mr. Railfix, I know that you mentioned my name in your extremely incoherante response, that was filled with garbage..

So what is it you don't like about my spelling then Mr. Railfix?

If you think i'm going to change it for you, your sadly mistaken.

Another thought the reason I do these things is this forum needs more debates instead of people doing topics that have less than 20 responsed I thought we needed to have a debate that genrated like 100 responses so That was not the intention of Rick Gates thread but when he joined which I appluaed him for doing then taking about his experiances on the thread but then it can get out of control on these kind of debate things which is out of my control if you have any comments, Questions or Suggestion for the future you feedback is welcomed
