Doggy- Larry is trying to say the cinders are being stirred again to create a fire. You do not have to answer each post you agree with or diagree with right away. Take some time to think about how important your response may be and stop making a personality contest of it. The number of post you make are not as important as consideration and respect for others. Check your dictionary for the word "antagonist." You do not have to do this every time someone disagrees. CSX98 may disagree with the invasion of rights that the implementation of Rule G provide for. He has stated however; that he follows the rule at work, when driving, etc. He takes responsibility and has a right to his opinion. Please respect it and simply agree to disagree. Thanks for making these posts that we may keep safety forefront in our minds. Making pesonal attacks distract from the topic. A mature person with class knows when to pick a battle. I'm not trying to criticize anyone, I am always prone to outburst and tantrums also. I hope I am learning to do better. Keep aspiring to be all you can be Doggy and thanks again.[soapbox]

I though that was the drummer's date!

Man, I would have paid real money to see a camel get tattoed.

By the third page I'm thinking we should rename this post "Internet forum responders that state their opinions and then want to apologise to each other for them". By page four I realised there was a HUGE party- and I missed it! (I DID see a shaved camel, or was it an emu, wandering aimless down interstate with a tatoo... couldn't really make it out- said 101st or 82nd kicks a#$ (don't know). But by the ending of responses I was brought right back where it began. Next time you guys throw a wild one let me know!!!

CSX,
Just a suggestion.

Instead of making a flat statement, along the lines of "this is what I think, and if you dont like it, screw you!", why dont you try explaining to Doggy why you think and feel the way you do about this issue.

Do what adults are supposed to do when dealing with young people...teach, not preach.
Just wondering why you offer a confrontation, instead of a explaination.
Dont you see that, as a young kid, it is reflex to disagree with anyone older?

Bet if you slowed down, and explained how and why you think that way, you could make a good case.

Just a suggestion, OK?

Stay Frosty,
Ed

This thread is kind of like the Balkans now.....A couple of groups of folks that can't get along becasue of a couple of relatively stupid issues...pride and inability to communicate complicating it.....and the rest of the world content to let go at it for entertainment until they spill out of the box..then we have to whack them back in....neither side is listening, the rhetoric is old and whenever one side does something the other has to respond....

Rix ...two rounds Willie Pete, adjust to my call , fire for effect.

Doggy,

You have some people on this forum who are definitely your friends, whether you realize it or not. Some have given you some good advice, and I hope you'll follow it. At least one, whose opinions I value very highly, has spoken up on your behalf.

I hope you'll e-mail me off-list.

Wow!!! What a great weekend party and a nice break from seventh step work and the more serious things that I have to deal with elsewhere. Of course Monday and even Tuesday were kinda rough but now it's Wednesday and regrets are in order.
***Peter Ustinov, I'm sorry you left early but I guess you had to die. If you'd stuck around for our "finest of plunge-surfing for your amusement" exhibition on Saturday night, I'm sure it would have revived your zest for life. You might still be cavorting amongst us below that croissant of dead spinach you were wearing.
***Doggy, I have a serious confession to make. My dad used to affectionately call me "The Kicker Dawg" when I was wee. No dad, even though my shrink says so, I DON'T think it helped put me in the state I'm in, and I DON'T HATE YOU ALL THE TIME!!!.
Sorry Doggy, I almost derailed there. He gets me "worried and scared" when he keeps telling our family, "the purpose of life is to get into heaven" when he's the only one with one foot into it. I often have one foot in my mouth and don't go around recommending It!!! I would support Rule G if Rule G would support me..... or if he were Kerry's running-mate.
***Wish I'd been clearer and placed the half-buried decorative tires so that they surrounded the patio area instead of the pool water. I promise to get better with the tiki torches I've just ordered.
***Sorry too, if I stepped on anyone's flip-flops. Forgot to take of my replica stormtrooper (that Argentine leather feels great) boots. I had just returned from smashing bad sentences in Kevin's World.

While I may have other regrets, there's no time to waste now. The next weekend approaches but will be very different..You can all use my pool but watch out for the broken apertif and demi-tasse glasses on the bottom when you surf. Yes, I saw some of you still out there when I went to work Monday !!!
Mooks, raise (raise.....raise.....yes that's the word) up your ears because your advice may be required later. If I'm Barley, then my son is Corn, and last week we posted him off to a wonderful rehab center some ways off. My ex-wife and I, his doting and possibly enabling parents scouted out the local B&B's for this weekend's three-day family conference. We are not Red Roof Inn people (The Red Roof Lobster House Inn?). The B&B's were all maniacally charming and romantic!!! Exiting one, she commented that the bed (we never saw two in a room) seemed pretty narrow. I wittily suggested that maybe people didn't have efficient home heating back then, or were narrower, but were definitely shorter.
Now we have been happily divorced for twenty years and are glad to have become immediate and fast friends again for it. Because she is very direct and I am very circumspect, we always know within a couple of hours of being together why marriage was never in our cards.
The Ratty Mind (thanks, Sandy Beach) never sleeps, howeverIII
We both know we don't need another issue (heh-heh-heh, like our son} and will do the right thing, but fantasies don't sleep either. Let's see, the amish bundling board, clinging to the edge of the mattress, the split doubles headboard to footboard wedgie with clenched teeth technique?.
'Nuff said. I have to finish putting the Bright in my tighty-whity dides. No diapers on my butt friends. Tomorrow night I'll lay out my clothes in preparation. Wish me well all, and Betting Is Not Allowed. Have fun at the Club G!!!
Faithfully, Rick
Your Grammar Grocer

P.S. we've got a special on participles. They don't dangle too much, but we must clear them out before fresher and stiffer ones come in a few weeks. In my absence ask my clerk, Rutabaga..

rixflix aka Captain Video. Blessed be Jean Shepherd and all His works!!! Hooray for 1939, the all time movie year!!! I took that ride on the Reading but my Baby caught the Katy and left me a mule to ride.
