Ed - Thanks for the explanation.   I saw a lot of the condensation over the wings and at the wingtips during the jet demos (there was an F-16 here, too), generally during the high-G maneuvers, and that I understand.  The "tutu" occurred during a high-speed pass, just subsonic.  It tended to pulse, so I was lucky to catch it when I did.

This is a very flat-contrast shot showing the usual wing-tip and over-wing vapor during a high-G nose-up -

Running a little bit late tonight, but supper is now on the warmer bar:  continuing with the Chinese for tonight:  chow mein, chop suey, beef w/broccoli, the fried rices, etc.

And, I got out the electric ice cream maker, and fixed some homemade ice cream:  vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla w/pecan.  And there's plenty of cakes, pies and cobblers to have with the ice cream.

As I type this just south of Toledo, OH, the truck is rocking from the wind blowing.  supposed to have severe weather later.....

CW, doing just fine, keeping busy in the business, BTW, got the never give up e-mail, sent it on to parents and sisters.

Took a different route the last two days, running through NW IL and SW WI, area is very pretty, and interesting to drive a truck through.  Lots of hills and curves, was also looking for pieces of abandoned ROW that the Wisconsin & Southern wants to put back in, saw most of what I wanted to see.

Will take some chicken fried rice here before bed, back later.....

Looks to be a lot of rockin' and rollin' going on in the eastern midwest tonight.  Our forecast for tomorrow is for t'storms, which is OK.  I took the day off to get a bunch of stuff done, but it's all inside.

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Larry, looks like we might see some of the rockin' and rollin' this afternoon on into the evening.  Just saw our weather report, and the percentages are 20%, 6 a.m., 60%, noon and 80%, 6 p.m.  Until then, just plain old humid and muggy out.

Coffee, juices, lemonade, teas, and Gatorades are ready; and on the breakfast bar this morning:  cantaloupe and watermelon, blueberry muffins, oatbran muffins, bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, and homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage/egg/cheese inside.

You all have a great morning and take care.  I'm heading to the garden w/my coffee mug, and watch the trains go by this morning.

.....Tom:  Yes....understand your humidity figures.  You fellows no doubt get a bit hotter than we but Indiana is famous in the summer for it's humidity.   I can't take much of that along with hot sun anymore to be doing my outside activities, so must do it around the edges.

Best wishes for a pleasent 4th.  I'm sure many of us have participated in the process to make sure our 4th celebrations can continue.

Thanks CW, but I just received a call from my doctor's office to tell me my cholesterol level is now 214 and that he wants to see me next week.  Oh, Oh, that means one of two things (or maybe both of them)...a scolding or a prescription for medication...and no doubt a stricter diet (yea, like that will ever happen).

EF - Ouch.  That's a tad high, alright.

Wet morning.  Probably a wet day.  Good thing I mowed last night.

Back to painting the guest room....

Well, so far, no rain here yet.  It does look like it could start anytime.

For lunch and tonight, I have fixed the following:

Italian spaghetti with garlic Texas toast, and fresh garden salads, along with Caesar salads.

And for dessert, there's still plenty of the cakes, pies and cobblers left, along with plenty of ice cream.

....About 1 today....Jean and I got stuck in the church for a half hour waiting for the rain to stop.  We had stopped in to put envelopes in the pews and we had what looked like an extended cloud burst....Water at places we have not seen it recently on our way out.  But our rain gauge at home here {2 hrs. later}, shows only 1.5".  I would have wagered we'd see 2" plus.  And perhaps it did not rain as much here....just 3 miles west of church.

I Guess the Weather Guessers have out Guessed themselves today. (thus far)

As of this posting (5:46pm EST) We've had nothing but extremely light drizzle

at various times today......Let's just hope we don't have the "Deluge" they've

been predicting!

Eolafan, you don't have to worry too much about the spaghetti:  it's low fat, low sodium, and cholesterol free.  That's why I get it.  I like spaghetti too much, to have to give it up, along with the other goodies I had to give up after having the colonoscopy last year.

And, I've set out some fresh, hot spaghetti and garlic Texas toast on the warmer bar for supper tonight, along with the veggies to go with it, and the salads and desserts are on there also.  Don't worry, the salads are on ice (and there's more salads in the cooler).

We've got a nice couple of days coming up. Clear skies and lower 70s for the fireworks this evening, clear skies and upper 70s for the fireworks tomorrow evening. Couldn't be better.

When I was attending our local community college, I usually went directly from work so always had a few minutes to kill.  One afternoon I was standing on the patio outside the student lounge, watching a rainshower pass.  You could see the line in the parking lot - rain on this side, none on that.  Pretty amazing.

A beautiful day here in the true midwest.  Sunshine, low humidity, little wind and 70's.  Omaha got pounded again about Wed nite and we got spit on again.

92 and humidity, of course, this weekend.  But hey - It's July!  Early Happy 4th to all.  I am going to go find my earplugs.  The dynamite seems very close by our house.

Fried chicken for the 4th, CW - Cob corn, real butter, salt, potato salad, watermelon and real homemade rich ice cream.  Everything none of us can eat!  Kisses [:X]  Well, except for maybe Willy!

Only the east side of Omaha really got nailed. At home in southwest Omaha, we only had some sprinkles and you could hear the thunder in the distance. Downtown got dumped on with hail. Kind of like what Larry and Quentin are talking about.

Willy,

Ain't it great!

Cholesterol is just another word for flavor!

How about slow barbequed brisket, fresh tortillas, grilled corn on the cob with real butter and real salt, some avocado slices, black bean salad, maybe even Mexican potato salad, washed down with iced tea, and followed by Blue Bell Real Vanilla Ice Cream with hot fudge topping and some chopped nuts... finish off with a watermelon or two...

Pepto and Tums to follow for the weak at heart...

You were rolling right along until you got to the asparagus cousin - Avocado.  Ack! And I also know sweets isn't your favorite thing, so you would probably stop at the ice tea and watch the rest of us oink through dessert.....Smile [:)]

Good Friday morning, and:  HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO EVERYONE!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday]

Mookie and Ed:  you have picked the menu today, and I'll get right on it!  I was wondering if you all would want to have a grill out today, or the regular Friday Fish Fry.  Now, I know!!

There will be:  slow barbequed brisket, burgers, hot dogs, brats, grilled corn on the cob (and is there anything besides real salt and butter?), pork chops, fried chicken,  black bean salad, regular potato salad, and Mexican potato salad, tortillas, avacado slices, sliced red tomatoes, cole slaw, baked beans, plenty of iced tea and lemonade, watermelon (have several in the walk in cooler) and in the freezer is several gallons of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream.  Guess I need to also get busy chopping nuts to put on top of the hot fudge topping.  You all will get everything to eat that you've ask for today!

Meanwhile, how about some breakfast?  On the warmer bar:  bacon, sausage, pancakes & waffles, and some blueberry and real maple syrups to put over the pancakes & waffles.

Coffee, tea and juices are ready and waiting.

Good morning! I hope the rest of you out there are all having a good 4th of July weekend. At the present moment we've got 59.7 degrees here in Sioux Falls, the wind is calm and it is shaping up to be a pretty nice day here. I have to work today, but I'm not complaining.

I've got a job interview this morning at 8:30 with one of our HY-VEE grocery stores, and while I am shooting for a full time position, I would be happy if they offered me part time work. I've got a couple cousins in Grand Lake, Colorado who are praying for the outcome of this interview, and I could use all the prayers I can get! If anything positive comes out of this job interview, I will let you all know of it later.
