One of these days, somebody's gonna go rooting around in the woods across the creek from the back of my place and find some of the hundred or so balls I've hit over there.  It's a clear shot (no houses), although I've been known to send a few in the wrong direction - that travel trailer next door has a dent or two in it's roof...

For that matter, I could probably get over there myself.  It is private property, though...

Hey everyone, I'm finally back from Tuesday Produce!!  A couple of other centers were closed today, for inventory, so we had 114 people show up at our little center this morning.  And it was a toal madhouse, because we had three trucks from Dare to Care show up this morning with deliveries.  The last truck had bread and pastries, ranging the gammut from doughnuts to cookies to cakes.  I managed to get a loaf of wheat bread, and a lemon strawberry cake, along with chocolate milk and a large bag of red potato wedges (very thin wedges, too).

And the people were acting like fools:  trying to sneak inside to get the bread and pastries, before they got their regular stuff first, and sneaking back into line for more of the regular produce items we get.  And with all the extras we got today, I could only call one person at a time, because there was no room left for people to walk through.

Got the first round of roast, taters, carrots & gravy w/green beans, sliced tomatoes, whole kernal corn, and dinner rolls on the warmer bar.  Cole slaw and garden salads are in the cooler, as usual.

Hey Joe, if Matt wants a job, you can bring him to my house here in Sioux Falls, my basement needs to be cleaned out and re-organized. I will feed him all the chocolate chip cookies and chocolate milk that he can handle.

By the way, I know I missed your birthday, and I hope you had a darned good one! Happy B-Day [bday]

We have 90 degrees here in Sioux Falls, but the humidity here is only about 30%, so it hasn't been too bad here today. I kind of wonder if we might be getting some rain later tonight.

I've put out the next round of tonight's supper menu on the warmer bar.  Joe, Lance, and anyone else, I also made a few to-go containers, and put in the fridge.

We have a slight chance of a few drops of rain tonight, but chance gets better during the day tomorrow:  especially north of us.

Also have a strawberry cake w/lemon icing for dessert tonight.  Tastes pretty darn good, too, as I couldn't resist having a slice, just to make sure it was good, moist, etc.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  Nice and muggy here in Louisville this morning.  Temp going up to 90 today.

Tom, like you yesterday morning, I couldn't get in this morning.  They had the doors locked, down for maintenance.  Also made a notation on my BIRTHDAY CALENDAR of your birthday on August 12th.  Your's is the third August birthday I have listed on my calendar.

Coffee, juices, teas and breakfast are all ready, and on the breakfast on the breakfast bar.  Today we have turkey bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, sliced pineapple, bagels, bear claws and strawberry muffins.

You all have a great morning, and if there are any requests for today's lunch/dinner, supper menus, please speak up!

That's a good possibility.  Still have to figure out whether I'm doing that as part of my trip home or as a side trip while I'm in Michigan.

Thanks for the fresh juice this morning CW, it really tasted good.  I'm on vacation this week and home handling my "honey do" list which included the three of us (my bride, my 26 year old son and me) moving and spreading ten cubic yards of hardwood mulch yesterday (oh, my aching EVERYTHING!).

Today in Aurora is muggy and rainy with temps to end up around 85F...time to turn on the A/C after over a week of very nice temps and open windows with chirping birds in the morning.

Have a wonderful day everybody.

.....A nice breezy and partly cloudy day starting here in our midwest region of the country, specifically...central Indiana.  Might get a thunderstorm pass by some time today....{Actually we could use a bit of rain right in this location}.....

More shrub trimming for me starting in a few minutes...Did get another mowing in yesterday, so I'm good on that for four days now.

Still breezy enough and temps ok to keep the windows open and continue enjoying the summer sounds and openness.

Hope it's a good day for forum members.

Since no one had any meal suggestions, guess we'll go with Mexican Fiesta for today.

Have the regular tacos (hard & soft shells), beaf & bean burritos, beef burritos, beef burritos enchilada style, enchiladas, tamales, Spanish rice, etc.

Did a quick trip to the library this morning, and it is really getting warm out.  Came home being a little bit sick at the tummy; beginning to feel somewhat better, though.  Not that much of a breeze outside, but the humidity is rising.  Not too much of a chance of any rain, maybe hit and miss kind, which invaribly misses us.  Guess I'll have to water the flowers and veggie plants this afternoon, early evening.

Everyone have a good afternoon.

Whew, nice to be in where it's cool!  Very, very warm outside.  Went out and watered the flowers in the backyard.  Around 8:00, will go out and water the vegetable bed.  Tomato plants are growing nicely.

Also, just replenished everything on the warmer bar.  And there's fresh iced tea (both kinds), lemonade, Gatorade, and fruit punch.  Dessert tonight:  plenty of ice cream, all different flavors available.

Just got back from a meeting where everyone was asking me questions, which is why I was there.  I'm not sure how I get cast as the expert sometimes.

Of course, it's a good thing I wasn't getting a commission on what I was there to "sell."  I'd have walked away emptyhanded...

Several fire departments are joining together - this department is trying to figure out if they are a good fit in that merger.  The signs weren't good.

Sweet tea usually goes together pretty well with a fiesta meal.  Where's my plate?

Good Thursday morning, folks.  It's a nice warm 77 degrees here this morning, going for a high of 92 for today, with a better chance of showers, thundershowers later on this afternoon.

Got plenty more iced tea, juices and coffee ready to go this morning.  On the breakfast bar you will find cold cereal, toast, sausage, buttermilk pancakes w/syrup, bagels and bear claws, sweet cantaloupe and watermelon.

You all have a good morning, and you'll find me out in the garden, in a rocker, reading the paper, and watching the trains go by.

....74 plus degrees this morning.....and partly cloudy.   Not sure specifically of the weather report, but that starting temp tells me the potential is there  for low 90's today.

Possible thundershowers I believe later today.  Finally gave up and closed the windows last night as the humidity was getting up there to be comfortable.

Still lots of shrubs to trim.  But a friend has a birthday today so we'll meet them for breakfast late in the morning.

Wish a good start for everyone....

Looking like a damp weekend here, which is a bummer as we have several very large outdoor events planned - including two days of air show.  Some of our forecasts have failed to happen lately - we've been dry when t-storms were forecast.  Maybe that bit of luck will hold.

Tom, trying to stay cool is the most important thing on my agenda for today.  Went out for my daily walk early, around 8:30, and got back quickly.  I could already feel the humidity going up.  30% chance of some thundershowers later this afternoon.

The warmer bar is now a cold bar, with the following sandwiches for lunch:  turkey & cheddar cheese, roast beef, ham & cheese, bologna & cheese, and BLTs.

Desserts for today:  lemon meringue pie, chocolate pie, and the following cobblers:  apple, blueberry, cherry, peach and strawberry; chocolate cake, and yellow cake w/chocolate icing.

Does anyone have any ideas for supper tonight?  If so, please let me know!

Georgea, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the Flat Wheel Cafe!  Dropped in earlier, and saw your suggestion for supper.  Since that's the only one anyone posted, that is on tonight's menu:  meat loaf w/stewed tomatoes, carrots and celery, and mashed potatoes.  And, there's plenty of lemonade (made about 5 gallons, wonder how long it'll last around here:  not too long, I would imagine!).

Sorted the other half of my sock drawer.  It was ugly here today.  Had rain and then very high humidity!

Officially sent in for my social security, so will be entering a new phase of my life where I won't have to worry about what I want to be when I grow up.  Going out to lunch tomorrow with two other ladies that were RIF'd with me.  One has found a job, the other hasn't.  Problem is, they are both mid 40's and it will be hard on the one that is still looking.  Just not a lot out there.

Maybe we could have ice cream sundaes tomorrow after supper?  (and I am not a big ice cream lover)  But would like a small strawberry sundae.  Yum.

Tree, I would ask you lots of questions.  You have that look of authority about you.  I just can't think of any at the present time.  But don't leave.  I am sure I will think of something!

Joe, got your container ready for work, along with a one-half gallon of lemonade for you.  Or should I make that a whole gallon?  Also, the Gatorade truck is due in sometime tomorrow.

Mook, I have been on sociable security for several years now, and it is indeed nice to have. That said, it ain't a livin'. Getting on disability was a task, but finally got it and well worth the effort. CW, thanks for supper and the lemmingade. I think I will eat in for breakfast tomorrow, cause Jimmy Dean is supposed to drop by with some sausage biscuits, and I would hate to hurt his feelings..... Currently 87 degrees and thunderstorms to the north. It only got to 94 instead of the 100 degree weather guess. A regular arctic blast.... Everyone take care
