It's 4:30 AM in AZ and I was unable to sleep longer so before the paper arrives I will plan and partially start breakfast.

We shall have the Santa Fe - Fred Harvey French Toast today and I have set up the coffee - you know - that special blend made exclusively for Fred Harvey and brewed in special water. I will trim the crust from the 1/4 inch thick pieces of bread and cut them into triangles so that Mrs. diningcar will only have to prepare the batter, heat the vegetable oil to 325 degrees and about 1/2 inch deep, then fry turning only once. Then place them on a shallow baking pan and allow them to puff in a 400-degree oven for three to five minutes. While they are draining on paper toweling I will have prepared thick slices of premium bacon, crisply fried; and set the room temperature genuine maple syrup on the table. As she sprinkles confectioners sugar on the drained toast I will have the apple sauce setting on the table and we can enjoy to our hearts and palets content.

Good morning all yalls. 64 Degrees and rain w/ thunderstorms in Carolina this morning. It is calling for this to continue through the afternoon. CW, my condolences on your loss. You have happy memories, treasure them  in your heart. Regarding forming images of people you haven't met, that is a common thing and rarely even remotely correct. For the record, I am strikingly handsome and carry a stick to beat the wimmin off, them what gets past my body guards anyway.... Yall have a good day and stay safe

....33 degrees here.  Still, the wind is blowing, but not quite as much as over the weekend.  Up to 51 mph gusts in Indy.  Dry right now.  Not sure just what we're to expect for the rest of the day.  Probably about like this and down a bit on temp.  It started dropping late yesterday from the mid 50's.

Hey CW, I'm ready for Spring too, maybe if we all think and dream about warmer temps then Winter will end early...Cool [8D] Wishful thinking on my part!

Got rain last night and into this morning and temps are on the warmer side, in the 60's today, but getting back to 30's for lows tomorrow.

Got to get my truck inspection done today with the oil change, wish me luck! Shock [:O]

Wow, what a difference a couple of hours can make.  At 5 a.m. this morning the temps here were 38F and at 7 a.m. they were down to 18F!  Yesterdays rain and temps in the mid forties caused a lot of snow melt that ran into across the streets and collected in big puddles in spots and this morning they all had frozen solid by the time I took my bride's car to the shop for service and a light snow had covered much of the ice and a spot surprised me and I slid a bit (but only once).  All of you be very careful out there this morning!!!!

Thank you for the compliment, Bob.  I myself am liking #10:  The Flat Wheel Cafe.  Don't know about anyone else, though.

On the way to the warmer bar, for our lunch today:  turkey dinner leftovers from yesterday.  Man, that was a big turkey I fixed yesterday.  We'll probably be having turkey leftovers for supper tonight, too.

Number 10 sounds like a winner to me, too.

After spiking at 50 earlier this morning, we're headed down to freezing again and a low of 23 tonight.  Still plenty of snow on the ground (and ice in my driveway), so it'll just be one big block.

Enjoying the holiday, but I do have some stuff to get done around the house.  Back to work!

Looks like we have four votes for The flat Wheel Cafe, so far!  (I'm not counting my vote yet).  Let's hear from some others, o.k?

"The Flat Wheel Cafe" sounds pretty good to me. Another suggestion I have is "The RIP TRACK DINER".

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  Looks like we had a very slow Monday night here last night.  Hope everyone is doing all right, this morning!

Coffee is brewed, fresh oj/oj/tangerine, grape juice are all ready, and available.  There's also hot chocolate, hot cider and hot tea for this morning.

On the warmer bar this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits; and in the cooler you'll find fresh cantaloupe chunks, and fresh pineapple slices.

You who have not voted yet for a new name for the Diner, please do so.  So far, it looks like our name will become The Flat Wheel Cafe, but there are some of you I haven't heard from yet.  I want to know everyone's opinion.  PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS. I may be the cook, but we are all a part of this place, and your opinions do count!!

Groan - I am tired this morning.

Blew a tennie gettin' in here, so flat wheels applies.

I really need lots of coffee. And toast.  And bacon. And fruit. And milk. And fries.  For Matt.

Big Smile [:D]

AS A NEWBY here I must catch up with all the friendly chatter, and I shall try. MC is the only contributor with whom I am acquainted. I hope to know more as time goes along.

I vote for # 10, The menu offerings always inspire me to eat hearty, not that I needed help.

Going to be another beautiful day in the AZ mountains and the spring training news is now a daily feature in thr Arizona Republic. I woke up early again (4:00) and have read the paper and finished the Sudoku. Now on with the internet.

CW - I'll place another vote for "The Flat Wheel Cafe".

I have to be off to school, but just wanted to drop in and place my vote before it's too late.

Another busy day of tests and quizzes today!

Add me to the Flat Wheel vote roster for the new name!

Cracked a tooth yesterday, I need to stop eating the ballast....

Got a surprise cold temps below freezing this morning.

I'm hungry, time to belly up to the breakfast bar!

Cheers,

Good morning yalls. I guess my preference for the name would be MOOKIE'S MANOR COFFEE AND EATS, but since it's a long shot, I guess the Flat Wheel will do. Waiting on an electrician to put up a fan. Already waiting on warm weather....

Jim, it was an old ceiling fan we had in storage, but the thing was bad, so he has gone off to find another one. The wife has been turning on the AC during the night, even at 20 degrees outside, so this is self preservation.....

I know I do not pop in here that often but the Flat wheel cafe sounds good.  Now on a sadder note for me  I had a bad weekend myself my wife and I suffered a miscarrige saturday and we are still hurting from it.  Turns out a freaking asian lady bug bit her and caused a allergic reaction and her body made a choice her or the baby to keep alive.  She is ok now however hurting inside and so am I.
