Okay, everyone, lunch if now being served. Baked the pork chops, and with the elephant ear mushrooms, I sauteed some onion , boiled potatoes, and mashed them, and made plenty of gravy to pour over the potatoes. Cannonball, couldn't find any watercress, so it must have floated on downstream. I'll keep looking, though, and should find some soon for you, Cannonball!! (Hey: how's Shirl doing lately? Tell her "Hello" for us!) The sassafras tea is really delicious!!
Jack, thanks for bringing in the Breyers vanilla to go with the peach cobbler. By the time you all are finished eating, the cobblers will be coming out of the oven, and be just cool enough, that you won't burn your tongues, even with the ice cream on top of the cobbler!!
Mookie, how about making plans to meet out in the garden tomorrow morning?
P.S. Management will NOT be responsible for anyone falling asleep at their jobs this afternoon!!

I guess I'll just have to take the rap for my nap myself, then.
You can keep the mushrooms, but I'll take plenty of the rest. Then I'll need the nap.
All the way up to 37 now - but the sun is out. Not making the snow go away very fast, though.
And - three weeks old tomorrow:

Larry: very good pictures!! Geez, Louise, has it been three weeks already?!?!?! She is a little cutie pie!! Mookie, if Little Evie is watching me cook, that explains the surprised expression, right?!?!?! She probably thinks "That one isn't much taller than I am. What is she doing cooking?!?!?!"
Got more pork chops and sides on the warmer bar, along with some leftover Italian spaghetti and fresh baked garlic bread from the oven. And there's plenty more peach cobbler for dessert, and plenty of ice cream to go over the top.

Good rainy Thursday morning! We've been getting rain since about 8:30 last night, and it's still coming down. Joe, glad you all had a nice time, and glad you made it home all right. Thanks for the great pictures, too!!
Coffee is ready, and I've made fresh orange juice, pineapple juice, apple juice, and orange/tangerine juice, and they're in the cooler. Hot water is ready for tea and hot chocolate, and there's also hot cider this morning.
On the breakfast bar this morning: turkey bacon, sausage, oatmeal and toast, scrambled eggs, and homemade buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, bagels and bear claws.
Also working in the kitchen, part of the meals for lunch and supper: pork chop abracadbera and I think we'll also have Mexican Fiesta Night. How's that sound to everyone?!?!
Shirley, thank you for the kind words. I think about quite a few of our patrons who seem to be MIA. Wish we would hear from them; but guess they're just too busy to check in and say "Hi".
Mrs. Tails-a-draggin' here. Woke up a little early and suddenly realized everything was asleep but my brain.
Windy, not too cold, little moisture predicted - 20-30% usually means nothing shows up.
I really must get to the coffee p.....
I woke up this morning at 5:00, and discovered that we have about an inch of fresh snow on the ground here in Sioux Falls. I just poked my head out the front door and it was still snowing, but I don't think we will get the four to eight inches that the National Weather Service has been predicting.
I am somewhat tempted to crawl back into my bed and try to sleep a bit longer, but once I've been up for a while it's kind of hard for me to go back to sleep.
I have the day off today and I might spend part of my day here in my kitchen baking cookies or bread. I am going to eventually send a care package to a cousin of mine who lives out in Grand Lake, Colorado. About a month ago she had encountered a bull moose, face-to-face while walking her dog in the neighborhood where she lives, and the darned thing attacked her, head-butted her and tossed her into a snow bank. Lynne had her arm ex-rayed to make sure that it was not broken, and she is doing O.K., although she was quite shaken up emotionally by this event.
good morning
Cw and Dan thanks for breakfast.no rain yet.we have chores and have to play post office too.see ya later.

I dunno - by the sounds of everybody this morning, all three will be empty in no time...
Fair 'nuff Sir Larry. I think I'll put on a 'double' pot while I'm at it. This stuff has a high octane rating and will surely get ya fired up.
Went digging through some pics and found some of the MILW 261 fresh after overhaul, the Neenah Roundhouse/Turntable, and the old Soo Bridge in Oshkosh. Gotta get 'em digitized and then I'll post 'em.
72 Degrees yesterday afternoon and sunshine...
33 Degrees and light snow today...AHH ______!!!!!, Springtime in the Rockies.
// heads accross the floor to grab a fresh drum of diet caffeine and then go visit hate and discontent on the bencounter's side of the office.
Okay, everyone, lunch is now ready for you. The pork chop abracadabera is ready and on the warmer bar. With the pork chops, the side dishes are: potatoes & onion that cooked with the pork chops, sweet green peas w/carrots, your choice of garden salad or Caesar salad and there is a fresh fruit salad.
While the rain has stopped for the time being, think I'll take a nice little walk around the block. Enjoy your lunch, everyone, and see ya later.
Cw thanks for supper.chores are caught up and bill is paid.will make some popcorn for tonight.

I've got the next go around of pork chop abracadabera and side dishes on the warmer bar for supper (or a late lunch for those of you on the West Coast). You all enjoy your supper, and Joe, maybe I'll try a little bit of popcorn later on tonight.
Cw
I'll make some here in a little bit. Matt wants to watch his show while I want to watch the basketball games tonight.
Good Friday morning, everyone. It's been a very stormy morning around here. Woke up to thunder, lightning, and pouring rain at 2:19 a.m.. Now, the temps will be slowly dropping throughout the day. Current temp is around 59, 60 F, going all the way down to 32,33 by this time tomorrow.
Coffee, freshly made juice and hot water for tea are ready. On the counter this morning: doughnuts, danishes, muffins, cinnamon rolls, bagels and bear claws. And on the warmer bar: turkey bacon, sausage, sausage gravy & homemade buttermilk biscuits, and tater tots.
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, and have a great Friday!

Let me check my calendar. Yep - March 28.
It snowed last night. Not much - just enough so there's a cover over all the dirty snow.
There is still a substantial blanket of snow at work, as well as at the house, and the big piles of snow will be here for a while yet.
Bearclaw and tea.

No fresh snow to report and the small chunk left of the West Snowbank is 3' L x 14" W x 5" H. That's all the snow left in the yard! Of course...now that I said that we're jinxed...
Work got a tad...interesting yesterday. I have picked up a few personal training clients that are unique: Miss Oshkosh and she's bringing 2 other Miss Wisconsin contestants.
I get to sleep in for a month: no early AMs on T/W/R. Sorry CW I can't help with breakfast for a while!

Better not let my son's wife see this - he's a personal trainer at a gym in MD. Wouldn't want any distrust floating around...
On the other hand... Need a hand?
....Overcast here this morning....Did hear 3 different thunder rolls late last night but didn't get any storms. Street is mostly dry this morning.
Snow....? Haven't seen any of that on the ground now for some time.
Would like to think we've had the last of it for this season. One never knows. They fertlized our lawn several days ago and the grass is greening. Just hope it fills in the damaged spots that occurred with last season's drought. If not, I'll have to be sewing some grass seed at some spots.
31 degrees when I first looked several hours ago. It is pretty bright but still cloudy.
Still watching for our first sighting of Humming birds at our feeder. Put it out this past Monday. Will try to determine if one of the same birds will return. It had an abnormality about one wing and we think we can identify it if we see it. Some of them go all the way to Central America to winter.
