You could page yourself from your desk via office speaker (if so equipped) and don't disguise your voice.

.....Too bad to hear the news of Houston Ed.  Jen, pass our thoughts along to him.  Believe he is one that won't care to be "down" for a while.  We wish him a speedy healing.

31 degrees here this morning....should be another good late winter day.  No snow.

Mookie, I wondered what happened to the rockers, after I came out of the kitchen, with two large mugs of coffee, and a bagel w/cream cheese for you, and a sausage biscuit for myself!  I thought I was totally losing it!!  (No comments from the peanut gallery, guys!)  But I did find you, and it was very nice, sitting out there this morning, and us catching up on things.

Guess I'd better get a get well card  ready to go to Houston!!!!  (Wonder if I can find a card regarding a broken toeConfused [%-)]Wink [;)]

How does Italian spaghetti w/garden salad, w/Italian bread, oven-roasted garlic potatoes and Italian green beans sound for today?

CW - I think he is healing.  I only found out after several days of him not being able to talk without sputtering.  Big Smile [:D]  Anyone who has broken a toe knows how you just go silent for awhile since the pain is so bad, you can't get past silent screaming.

Loved the beagle and cream cheeze.  And the warmer weather.  And the pleasant conversation!

Since I didn't hear any objections on the meal menu, the spaghetti (made with meatballs this time, instead of ground beef over the spaghetti), Italian bread, roasted garlic potatoes, green beans are now on the warmer bar; garden salad and desserts are in the cooler behind the counter.

Mookie, I've never had a broken toe (or any other body part); but my sister did break her toe, 40 some odd years ago.  She might have had something over the toe, but all she could do was stay off it as much as possible.    Believe while she was off work, she worked on her summer tan.  Even back then, I couldn't have sat out in the sun that long.

Hey Guys...

Guess what happens when you drop a set of cast iron vise jaws on your toe?

Yeah, well, that too...man, I couldn't have done it any better if I had aimed.

Been super busy with my Bullet Pen businesses, plus the second job, so haven't had much time to "eat out" so to speak...

Will try and hobble in a little more often...how long do broken toes take to heal?

....This sounds like it happened at home Ed....Perhaps the steel toe shoes were located at their regular not working location.  Not on the feet....!

Wish you a speedy healing.

Hope you heal up soon, Ed ! Dropped a vise on my instep, fortunately not on my toe, soe years ago. Didn't break anything, but grandaddy of a bruise, so I can sympathise.

Ed, we wish you a very speedy recovery.  When I can manage to get hold of my sister, I'll find out how long it'll take for you toe to heal!  Seems her phone is very busy this afternoon, evening.

For those on the east coast, I have replenished the warmer bar with spaghetti, bread, taters, and the salad is in the cooler.  (Since daylight is now extended, will probably be putting supper on the warmer bar, a little bit later than normal, because I know people will want to get outside, and do things before thinking about supper.)  Joe and Lance, containers are waiting for you guys in the fridge.

Ed,

I almost felt your pain tonight.  I was working out (chest press w/110 lb dumbells) and nearly dropped one on my left foot when I was done with my last set of 8 reps.

I better start gettin' ready for the morning...4 AM comes early.

Snowman got a major Oweeeee! About all you can do is carefully splint it.

Lemme guess --- at the back of the big toe? (I wear steel toes almost all the time and you cannot protect against all of it...at least it wasn't the metatarsal bones)

Keep that thing off the ground and keep the weight/pressure off of it as much as possible.

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

The toe right next to the big one on my left foot.

Was at my other job, stocking the wood working vise rack.

Sneakers offered zero protection.

Had to go switching Saturday, stood in one place pulling pins...if I missed one, either we pulled it back to me, or my switchman had to get it on the way by him...no running, no fast walking...and feet up when I get home.

Good Thursday morning Dan and everyone else in the FLAT WHEEL CAFE!!

I can hardly believe that I walk in the front door, and smell breakfast already cooking!!  Thank you Dan!!  Very, very much.

Will get a coffee mug, fill it up, and put a breakfast burrito, seasoned taters, and some fresh fruit on a plate, and go sit in a booth and wait for company to join me for breakfast.

It's hard to believe, but our morning temp is 56, 57 degrees, going for a high of 67 today!  Unfortunately, though, tonight rain will be coming into the area.  Checked our rain gauge the other day, and after the snow had melted, had about 2 1/3 in. of water in the gauge.

You're welcome CW.  I figured that as long as I was up I'd get somethin' going.  Tomorrow, however, I'm sleeping in!  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

We were forecast for an inch of snow last night...and none fell!  YAY!  Now if we can only get a bit warmer today that'll help.

Last bit of snow disappeared yesterday.

Last nice day today.

Back to lower temps - what was wrong with 60?

I am heading to Houston to take over EB's job until his foot heals.  I am taking a chair so I can sit and pull pins as they go by.  Grandmothers get special dispensation you know.  No walking on rocks for us.....Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]  (Poor Ed will need two more jobs after I get done)

Dan - if you are getting up at 4 - switch to 3:45 and I won't have to get up at all.  No sense in both of us up at that hour.

Fruit - yessssss....sounds good.  All but pineapple.  I know I am in the minority - but I don't like squash and hate asparagus (see Sir Mud about that).  So I am probably a minority of one!

I seem to be an IS person and custodian today - had to make the coffee....It is a dark and lonely job, but someone has to do it since I really wanted a cup of coffee.....

Bi....

Did that once with a piece of firewood, right on the pinky toe.

Larry, we here in Louisville, are glad you made it home safely!  And we also know you're missing Little One already!!  Will look forward to seeing a picture or two of the little sweetie, when Grampa gets around to it.  (We know you have a lot to catch up on at home, after being gone!!

Dan, since you took care of breakfast so well this morning, I went ahead and got started (at 7:30 a.m. ) on the other two meals for today:  Top round steak, cut in large slices, placed over two cans of Cream of Mushroom soup, and added a couple of thick sliced onions, and mushrooms.  (Made enough to have for tonight, also.)  To go along with it, there is:  broccoli, cauliflower, mashed taters; and cole slaw and garden salads in the cooler, along with strawberries, cherries, and cantaloupe for snacking purposes!!
